Its really hard to see what actually happened in the game, vs what you think should have happened. Just pieces moving all over the dam place and then coming back and moving and coming back and moving AAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You should have named this " What I think should have happened".
@toleshaOG Are you making a statement , or asking a question? Because your improper sentance structure makes you look like a complete fucking idiot. Maybe you should recount your I.Q. points. Dumbass.
@Telly187 Haha you moron, my sentence is perfectly structured. I could probably be your English language instructor, even considering that English is my 2nd language. Don't try being smart if you aren't.
Knight e3 is not good (checking king and queen) because white can play Rxe8+ after winning the rook and bishop for free and giving counterplay for white and white suddenly has a point lead.
why people always said "the greatest player who ever lived"..is there such a thing..it's disgusting and unfair to other players who build all these since the beginning of chess history...it's more fair to appreciate all their contributions!!!
That re1+ sequence beginning at around 5:47 is a drawing line according to Rybka Re1+ Kf2 Rf1+ Kg3 Rf3+ Kh4 Rb4+ Kg5 Rg4+ Kxg4 Ne3+ Kg5 Rf5+ kh6 ng4 kh7 Rh5 kg8 nh6 kf8 rf5 qf7 Nxf7 gxf7 rf4 and black almost wins though the f pawn ensures the draw for white
uh 06:15 kf4 is met by queen fork ne6 so he's losing at that point (only queen forks or mating squares left) May need to back up at the point where you said black has a discovered check that doesn't amount to much and ask Rybka if that's really true.
According to the chess computer Houdini, e5 (4:05) is a huge blunder for white. Houdini evaluates 40. Rxe8 at 0.00, but after 40. e5, the value is above 15 in Kasparov's favour.
I don't understand why knight e5 a the end would be worse than knight d4. knight e5 forks the queen with a double check, whereas knight d4 gets him a rook
@RockySeven7 White rook has no checkmate, either one of them. The rook on e6 can't mate, bishop can block and that will free up a slot for black's king to move to when white takes it. King then moves to f7 and is home free. The other rook has no check except on h7 that has no other protection. Once the queen is dead then the forced mate is a nonissue.
@sauskeuchiwa yeah n what about his 'octopus knight' game vs Karpov in the world chship?
But it's best move not best game and though i think he made objectively better moves, as AWP below observes the context alone is - perhaps - sufficient grounds for selecting it
a really good analysis (as you'd expect from an IM) - reasonable choice - i was listening to Gazza's own analysis of this game in part 35 of GK My Story, an extended interview of him conducted by former British champion GM James Plaskett, here on yt, just yday. This game, if i'm not mistaken, is GKs own choice as his most important / favourite game (with the documentary structured around his own top 10). Perhaps the context of the move alone is justification enough for Sam to select it.
@6.16 isn't Ne6+ winning for black?

@hoofdhaarkop if rook wasn't taken black would have trouble.

Is it my imagination or @ 6:16 you can use knight E6 instead of rook D2?

Well, this is why Kasparov is the BEST!

you overlooked n e3 check at 7.30
RRappadura 2 months ago
@RRappadura no, actually, because white's rook e6 takes e8, and then he's down points.
