  • FUCK WEST!!! EVERYTHING GOOD IS IN EASTERN EUROPE,NORTH ASIA!!!

  • @lowrydrlaydee Do you mind if I awkwardly follow you around for like a week, in hopes of absorbing some degree of sheer manliness that Kongar-ol Ondar exudes? Seriously, I am so jealous :)

  • Fuckin', BOOOOO

  • @T3hChr0nic I'm sorry, I don't know if you are booing Kongar-ol or someone's comment, but if its Kongar-ol I feel bad for you. You can't see past your narrow cultural experience to appreciate the beauty of something different. Thats truely sad.

  • Can anybody tell me what instrument it is he's playing, and where I may acquire such a thing?

  • He is a wonderful performer, we hosted a tuvan exchange student in our home in 1996 and Kongar-ol Ondar and his wife came to our home and sang in our living room privately for our family ... We exchanged customs by my husband exchanging head dress ( motorcycle helmet 1/2 shell) and his head dress and a motorcycle ride Doned in their head-dresses... What a wonderful cultural experience ! I just love them and the Republic of Tuva ! Great respect and Love from the Harris's to you Mr and Mrs Onda

  • lol that is cool

  • that shit would get annoying as phuck.

  • Wonderful! I like how much the audience enjoys it!

  • wadsworths constant -1 applies

  • Anyone else's teeth hurt while listening to this?

  • BAZINGA

  • This is really incredible. It's unbelievable that a person can make those sounds. Also, I LOVE his voice when he's not throat-singing.

  • 24 Bieber's fans?!

  • Triple platinum.

  • I like how he smiles as he's singing. He must have been having fun.

    :)

  • HOW THE FUCK DO YOU DO THAT

  • @mrnitler I'm fairly confident there's a decent tutorial on youtube somewhere.

  • try throat singing with your pals when you're drunk. it's so much fun.

  • huge respect to letterman for broadcasting this !

  • What instrument is that?

  • @slimboyfathead

    It's called a Dolush-Polur.

  • STOP LICKING TERABRITES PUSSY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • he is actually releasing two notes at the same time (0:50) the "hummmmmmmmmmmm" and then the high notes...so....

  • Jesus Christ guys don't clap, the performance isn't over...

  • damn white people always trying to clap a beat, it fucks up the performers song.

  • @arsdag81

Those were the Mongolians and Tuvans in the audience, you fool!

  • @val91201 hahaha...

  • @arsdag81 they were on beat moron

  • @arsdag81 Ignorant fucking nonwhite or self-hating white that attaches a race to a crowd that isn't even shown accurately; then proceeds to be upvoted by the other 42 ignoramuses that fucking lurk YouTube proclaiming their hatespeech. Yea - upvote that shit more you fucking disgusting humans. Had to add white - couldn't just leave it at people. Fuck you, and every other fucker who upvoted such an ignorant statement. Fucking answer to the universe.

  • that is incredible! never thought humans coudl do such a thing

  • what song is this?

  • wow, im surprised that this was on Letterman. Great performance!

  • I've only heard Inuit throat singing, and I find it OK,

however this guy makes it seem more wonderful and in my opinion better than Inuit throat singing. Nice music anyways.

  • No... oh god... NO, AUDIENCE! STOP CLAPPING ON THE BEAT! FUCK!

  • is there anyway to learn how to do that.

    google doesnt help.

  • @Sparton919 you have to search properly, i found a good site through google to learn it.

  • Stunning. I also like the real deep notes!!!

  • Wow, that was a terrible attempt from the crowd to follow his pulse.

  • that was awesome

  • Never expected to see that on Letterman! Great!

  • There was an "attempt" on America's Got Talent of some guy that tried throat signing, none of them got it but he wasn't very good. I would love to have seen a decent example of it on a show like that ONLY because it is a "mainstream show".

  • that guy's a fuckin rawk star.

  • He knows he's a pimp.

  • TRUE DAT!

  • Tuva is Turkish singing style . Turks are from Asia ... findthelinks(.)com(/)history(/)Huns_Turks(/)UYGURS.htm

    findthelinks(.)com(/)history(/)Huns_Turks/origin_of_Turks.htm

    (.)=. (/)=/

And if u can listen this song well u can hear old Turkish words :)

  • @uragorn12 hey this mongolian throat singing tuvans are more mongolian ethnicity not a turkish. In mongolian they are Urinhai

  • I suddenly just gained a lot of respect for David Letterman.

  • Paul Pena did an album/Documentary Genghis Blues. Tuva throat singing is very educational if you are open to other ethnic musical styles.

  • That was so badass

  • SO COOL

  • He really reaches out and touches on some sheer macho energy there.. everyone in the audience lapped it up and wants a piece, now I know why the Mongols took over half the Eurasian continent - dudes like him!

  • massive respect

  • I want this in my next Asian restaurant visit.

  • One word: Jolly

  • The Truth is the Star Wars series was a documentary, and this gentleman came back with the film crew. . . . Wow!

  • The Truth is the Star Wars series was a documentary, and this gentleman came back with the film crew . . . Wow! His smile looks like he just came back from the other side, and I now know I want to go there some day.

  • When the guitar starts it sounds like MotörHead. Mongolian version.

  • you know those big tube things with ripples in them, that when you spin them, they make a noise?

he kinda sounds like one of those.

    in a good way.

  • 22 people need to be executed

  • Awesome

  • sounds from outtaaa spacceeee! who needs synths

  • fuckin pro

  • Sublime !

  • …This cat's in ecstasy… Meow!

Does anyone know where I can find the CD "Back TUVA Future"?

  • 22 lost their voice attempted trying to do this

  • amazing!!!

  • That is one jolly talented mongolian dude.

  • @TheGoldenKing789 He said shu-de at the end. It is a sound used in Tuva to egg on on a horse

  • Wait, did he say "True Dat!" at the end of the song?!

  • @TheGoldenKing789 - He said "Shu-de!" It's kinda like yelling "HYAH!"

  • There is no hidden meaning. Simple song of nomad. Translation will be useless, i hope...

    Yeah, I'm tuvan.

  • Translation?(:

  • That was fucking awesome!

  • απιστευτο..Τ ο βρισκω αξιοθαυμαστο..

  • 22 people need to open their heart and soul to magic.

  • has anyone seen a face so heart warmingly friendly?

  • wonderful... that was awesome

thanks for sharing this with us...

  • Banjo players of the east :D

  • I seen a jam of Bela Fleck and the flecktones and him....

  • I was almost scared for this man, cause he is performing in front of a group of people who have no understanding of the Tuvan culture and no exposure to this kind of music. But I admire this man's bravery to branch out of the safety of his home nation and from social conformity, in order to express his love for his art and the love for his culture.

  • @noone123567 Tuvans and Mongolian are practically the same race. Tuvans are Mongolians who have drifted from their country due to their nomadic lifestyle, and coincidently settled in parts of Serbia and lower parts of Russia and Kazakhstan.

  • OMG, it almost ripped my ears...

  • I would totally use his voice as a background to a movie scene or something.

  • WOW.....

  • Amazingly beautiful and breathtaking. Music that seems from another world, and one that mimics perfectly the captivating sounds of the wind flowing through a never-ending sea of prairie, and the gentle music of the pristine rivers flowing through the highlands.

Tuva is such a magnificent land, a place of the outmost serenity and beauty. In the same way are Mongolia and the other nations of Central Asia. May their ways and culture last for more centuries to come.

  • Twenty-two people failed ethnic music appreciation class.

  • @Abracadabra208 They were at a Justin Bieber concert. Wtf is "ethnic", btw? Anything that isn't from the US? This is one of the many reasons why the world hates you.

  • @NoisemakerArrow You've got a point about the label "ethnic." At the deepest level it is an arbitrary designation. I'm glad we both appreciate the music of people who are not from Western Europe or the USA. My wisecracking Top Comment was aimed at precisely those people who only like music from the regions mentioned. It is from their perspective that music which is different is to be called "ethnic." Hopefully the labels can change with more cultural awareness.

  • he needs a feature with lil wayne... PSYCHE lil wayne knows he'd get outstaged

  • I heard a group in Sedona. They had the costumes and beautiful instruments, and sang a song about "strong women and beautiful horse." Before they dressed for the performance, I thought they were Navajos. Everyone was just amazed to hear them!

  • Anyone know the name of this song? Is it on his CD?

  • the amount of vocal mastery and technique this requires...to control the pitch of an almost whistling harmonic so perfectly...well......it's frickin' frustrating, is what it is!! LOL. Ondar - you are the man!!!!!! Throat singing is my new obsession.

  • INCREDIBLE!

  • shrooms and this music that must be one intense trip

  • Back Tuva future. What a beast!

  • Alot of people think this stuff is goofy, but obviously this is something beyond goofy. its just pure brilliance and music technique all in once! phenominal

  • @boblovesBTBAM you could say it's an art

  • Rock N Roll

  • Amazing.

  • So hot, imagin what else he can do with hos throat!!

  • dude he's shredding that...guitar thing.

  • the closing song is Talking Heads - Once in a lifetime if anyone is wondering

  • wish I could do that.

  • The crowd couldn't keep up!

  • 0:54 isn't that the friendliest fuckin' face you've ever seen?

  • 1:40 He has reached enlightenment. And again at 2:15

  • 2:10 What a ferkin' awesome sound.

  • that is amazing. it's also interesting how polite they were about having him on the show back then. in today's world I have a feeling he would have to be laughed at or made fun of to some extent. but hey that was the 90's.

  • He looks SO freakin' happy! Looks as though he knows something we don't.

    I love this guy! :P

  • Wow! haha

    Fucking brilliant!

  • He really is an awesome jolly bastard

  • @DeathMetalShredd666 where the f--- is your brain?

  • iieeeeiiiiiiooioioioioioioioeiiiieoeoooooeooolelioilalaloi CHOODA!! 2:46

  • @herndonboy13 He says shu-de which means giddyup or good for you. The song is called good horses and it's about riding on your pony- just thought you'd like to know.

  • @redtony58 Thanks thats very interesting

  • If only anyone could actually comprehend what kind of talent this guy has... It sounds weird to a western ear, but that is actually really hard lol

  • @GuamKomudo yeah, it would probably take months if not years of blind, faithful practice just to get the first harmonics to ring out

  • No alot of people can do it withen like 5 minutes, but no where near this well or even able to change notes or anything. They can just make the sound. But it's weird, some people it takes 5 minutes to do it, some people it takes years >.>

  • I love tuvan throat singing!!

  • lol i thought back TUVA future was funny until i actually saw this jolly motherfucker lololol

  • the best one...from Tuva,is he still around?
