The public needs to be aware of Otis Elevator/United Technologies Corporations illegal behavior. In particular, attempting to provoke this caring and devoted father into committing suicide over my child care issues and then conspiring to obstruct justice in federal court against not only me, but in addition 4 other litigants/former UTC employees. Please check out my You Tube videos to find my website and genuine court documents.
Wow, that rotary floor selector is impressive! Now you're making me want to use my lock picking skills to get into the elevator room in my building to see what's in there. The button panels in the elevators here look identical to the one in this vid (except it has 17 floors). Building I think was built in the '70s.
Modern lift controls are rather boring compared to these fairly intricate mechanical/relay systems.
I've been in one like this at the Treemont Hotel, Chicago. Sounded like someone was shaking maracas. Weirdest elevator noise I've ever heard. Door liked to bag against the wall too.
i LOVE this elevator!!

I remember riding this elevator back in 2004, I wonder if they modernized this elevator since 2008.

I'd replace it with a Gen2 MRL elevator
cubsrule2040 2 years ago
i would too if it was really a death trap
parejopinto 2 years ago
it's old and unreliable, and he did say death trap in the video.
so i'd replace it with a Gen2 MRL
cubsrule2040 2 years ago

Wow, that is a classic, it's one with the rotary floor selector (like this one: watch?v=MYuyv4-QR0g but this lift has less floors)
I think these classic lifts are great. I would have pushed the Emerg.stop button to see what happens! (see my latest video!)

Unfortunately, RizzBriff closed his site with that link. Here is another Otis floor leveller/selector...
watch?v=MXD5RyhfCpY (see 0:14)
If you ever did use your lock picking skills, please take a video camera in with you!

Note:
Just because it is noisey does not mean at all that it is death trap. This thing is NOT death trap!!!!!!!!
