I'm still kind of perplexed as to how dumping on other people's music makes yours sound better...
Why do people bother posting negative comments? I dont get it... Music is subjective just like every other form of entertainment. if you dont like something on TV you just switch sides right? I mean if you actually take the time to write a strongly worded letter to say you dont like whats on TV these days, or this program you saw is just like one you watched last year- then boy, you got a shit load of time on your hands!

to the point that the singer's got to get naked to do something about the dullness. they always get away with ripping off good bands and everybody buys the candy like a 5yo baby :S

the band is a rip off in any way you put it... and yeah, you might be right. perhaps arab on radar was a rip off, of what exactly ? anything i guess, could be a rip off... since every creative thing starts from an existent source of inspiration. that's cool... but it stinks when it is as cheeky & effortless as this!
ok, I'll throw in a name as an example of a band Arab On Radar could very well be a rip off of: hose.got.cable, just to prove the point that there were thousands of bands in NA alone with a similar sound in any period of time prior to AOR.

They aren't a rip off. I define rip off as sounding as if they are trying to be exactly like another band. So which band are they trying to sound like then, genius?
Sure they sound similar to a few bands, but I can't think of any that they're trying to imitate.
the reason people get away with it is cause it's not a rip off. you can't help sound comparisons. there's only so many dissonant chords or feedback patterns so why not just like them for who they are instead of think they're dumb for sounding like someone else, the way everyone else does.
