It was really disappointing to see these people taking this action. There are good reasons why swimming is not permitted in Sparth Reservoir - it isn’t safe. Those people who deliberately ignore this fact are recklessly putting their lives and, in some cases, the lives of their children, needlessly at risk. We have no wish to spoil anyone’s fun or enjoyment of the waterways but we fear that until these bathers take the risks seriously, this is an accident waiting to happen. British Waterways
