@zombiehammer1 It's because the UK BBC channel is only accessible to those in the UK, it's barred from other countries because we pay the licence fee. As this is a separate channel that's visible to people all over the world, it's funded by advertising.

I cancelled mine and only watch online now. And from that day to this I've had letters/reminder/threat of legal action and random TV license officers turning up at my door - and they can be quite hostile sometimes. TV License?... Gestapo more like !!

@GazMaddogJones cheeky fuckers, they will always find a loop hole, I think the game companies should bring out a screen that you can plug a consol into but not have the capability of recieving tv signals. That way you can wiggle the middle feller right in there smug little faces!

And this is a big but

They have changed the rules yet again such that if you have an Internet connection they're allowed to assume you watch tv online at some point, and therefore have to pay the license.

@queenastilon I had heard the same. However, I came across a website and a guy had posted his woes and a solution. I used a similar strategy and have been left alone for the past 3 months. The thing that I find most frustrating is that your guilty - not until proven innocent, but guilty full stop.
