  • Awesome!

  • what guitar is he using? anyone know??

  • Never heard EJ play acoustic before. Thanks for the upload.

  • He's great, he plays very well!

  • I love how eric's tribute songs are reminiscent of the artists,...but it still sounds like eric...unimitable..!!...

  • Does anyone know what he drops his E to? lol It sounds so low I can't tell if it's in D or C or maybe drop F :P

  • I tried putting it on 2x speed... oh my god! :O

  • he changes chord shapes with stunning accuracy

  • Deer in the headlights look for me. Wow

  • oh my god.

  • "Flawless victory" as Shao Khan would say ^^

  • whoa mama

  • Is this fun or what! I am getting no school work done!

  • muy bueno!! very good

  • is there somewhere, anywhere i could get a free tab for this song ???

  • Sounds empty and anemic without thumbpicking. You really need heavy strings and a heavy thumb to fill in the sound.

  • i really love this type of music arrangement, can some one tell me what tittle of this song(instrumental)? , by the way, thanks for those who reply my question & lol, 5 star rating for this, thanks for posting..great.

  • the title of the song is the title video dude

  • He's brilliant at every style! Great song too!

  • Also would it kill him to let a note ring out now and then?

  • Holy Shit!

  • GOD!!!

  • what is his acoustic setup rig entail. amp, pa, pickups ect. ect.? anyone have any clues

  • No but sounds like crap doesn't it?

  • WHat's his PU? Nice dreadnought. Is that a D-35? :)

  • Incredible as always! EJ keeps dreams alive! He is one of a couple guitarists I find that play the acoustic guitar with a pick and finger combo with the right hand. Pure finger style is nice but ultimately requires finger nails of some sort to reach full potential, EJ demos that a pick/finger combo can do much magic too!

  • FanrayMedia: I agree...a lot of people assume that to play like Jerry Reed, Chet Atkins, etc., that you must use a thumb pick (or no pick at all) but Eric Johnson and a few others help to prove that you can pull off songs like this using hybrid picking. In fact, Brad Paisley does that all the time as well!

  • 2:16-2:21 ending is too cool!!!

  • wow, monster chording and phrasing!!!

  • This is a great tribute to Jerry Reed by one of rock's finest guitarists.

For all you Eric Johnson fans, you should check out country guitar virtuoso Brad Paisley's tribute to Johnson called "Cliffs of Rock City."

It'd be pretty awesome for Johnson and Paisley to do a song together!

  • @badfinger848

that would be very cool!! now imagine Eric with Tommy Emmanuel... that would be total devastation, destruction and abuse of guitar ^^

(btw, cliffs of rock city is amazing! thanks for the recommendation)

  • @insaneguitarfreak Yeah--I'd really love for Johnson and Paisley to do one rock instrumental together and one country instrumental together, since both of them are so great at playing both genres! As for Johnson playing with Tommy Emmanuel, I don't think the law would allow that! I mean, Emmanuel is already absolutely stunning on his own and to hear him play with another great guitarist would be insane...though I do love Emmanuel's album that was by him and Chet Atkins.

  • @badfinger848 No Way, Brad Paisley does a tribute to

Eric Johnson? have to see that.

  • @wileypayote Yep...the EJ tribute that Paisley did is called "Cliffs of Rock City." It's one of my personal favorite instrumentals of Paisley's though, to be quite honest, I love all of his instrumentals--the country ones, the rock ones, the blues ones and the jazz ones!

I would love to see Eric Johnson and Brad Paisley do a collaboration...maybe two instrumentals--one being rock and one being country.

  • @Xcorgi Yes, because being able to play country, jazz, blues and rock as well as Paisley does makes you untalented! You should open up your mind a bit so you can appreciate some different guitarists.

And, for the record, I didn't compare Paisley to Johnson. All I did was mention Paisley's tribute to Johnson and state that it was in that overall style.

And, just for the record, both Paisley and Johnson are great guitarists.

  • @Xcorgi sounds to me like badfinger848 maybe never saw Paisley play in person. If they had they wouldn't say he's a no talent turd...that's plain stupid.

  • What a great clip, thanx so much for sharing!!

  • I agree

  • He is the best guitarist for me!!!

  • wow . . . very cool !
