@milesthemelonator they transition to the theatre you send them too, after a fleet has entered a transition zone, a fixed number of turns go by, then a message comes up telling you that your fleet has arrived at the theatre youèvr chosen, you then go to that theatre and do what you want with them...

@TokoBotzor You can also merge units - but you're right, retraining is better. It means their abilities don't degrade and they can in fact gain veteran status - at least that's how Rome:TW works the retraining. I dunno how Empire changes it.

At 10:10 you ask how to use the trading boats. From what I've collected, this is what you need to do...

Take a look along the edges of the map. You should see boxes in the water labeled with the destinations they will take your boats to. First, see if any of them are labeled with "Gold Coast" or "Brazil" or anything like that. If not, then move a boat into the southernmost box you can find from Europe- this box should correspond to the box that will take your boat to the Gold coaset area.

When the boat gets there, you will see circles along the coast. You need simply move your boat into an unoccupied one I believe.... You should also send warships to help defend the boat if you can. There is saftey (and firepower) in numbers, so sending a lot of trading ships to the region would be a good idea...

You asked for suggestions at 9:45, and here's my suggestion (though it's probably too late to do you any good now). UP WITH THE ARMY AND THE BOAT AND SEND THEM TO THE NEW WORLD. Use them to capture the Pirate Island or fight the Cherokee (who the colonists have asked you to destroy, and are currently preying on your colonies), or even go after Florida or New France...

What's with the autocomputes? First with the naval battle and then AGAIN at 8:49? Battles are often really cool, and will hone your tactical skills as well as give you a better sense of what types of units to train, etc. Furthermore, you will ALMOST ALWAYS tke heavier losses if you autocompute than if you fight a battle out...

You lost a valuable opportunity to gain experience in naval combat when you autocomputed the naval battle resutls at 8:04. also, the autocompute function will almost always lead to your forces taking heavier losses than if you had commanded them yourself, and in this case you mgiht have been able to CAPTURE an enemy ship or two rather than sinking them all, and could have not lost TWO of your ships in the battle...

Don't forget your naval research. You can have alot of ships but there equiped with yesterdays tech.

Iceland is a good choice to take over. You can use it to build ships, trade and for fishing.

Also, check out the territories controlled by the pirates. If your military is strong enough you can take them out and rid yourself of a major problem. Also, pretty much everyone hates pirates so you can attack them and not worry about earning another nation as your enemy.

no. but enemies can take money from you if they raid your trade lanes, so it's good to have ships nearby that can fight off raiding fleets.

ok about trade ships, the theatre exchange thing...you move your trade ships in there and then you will be able to select any theatre you want to move too from any theatre then inside the trade theatre which are small thetres are little yellow circles try to get as many as you can, more tradeships more income but i think there is a cap tho on how much income you can get from a single circle and its also wise to send a few support ships ;)
