  • Sadly , Mannys is no more . they got bought out by Sam ash . So glad I bought a Tshirt

  • haha i use to go Mannys twice a week back when i worked in NYC to doodle around with the guitars n equipment....

  • Uhh at 1:32..that's not a Fender passport PA...ahem...

  • thumbs up if your lucky enough to have one of these, well - luck has little to do with it, i didn't win mine in a competition or anything but hey - you know what i mean :)

  • I so want a Black Strat! Thumbs up if you agree!

  • @mysoresriram it is not the actual axe , it is the music inside of you that gives you the sound and feel.

  • @mysoresriram I had mine for 7 years and sold it during a lull in my band playing years. How I regret that decision now.

  • he is a genius

  • it's kind of sad to think of how few artists have reached us like this man. I can't believe it's 33 years since the Wall came out.

  • his my daddy lololololol

  • "I picked up Black Strat"

  • Why would they put an orchestra section in this concert. They NEVER used one on the original recordings of the songs they were playing. They always used the keyboards.

  • is it better to play the replica of a piece of history or create a new history altogether with your own guitar even if your beloved 6 string does not sport a fancy name on the back of the headstock? every guitar has the potencial to shine if played with passion and creative thought. i'm a Gilmour devoted fan, and i'm sure The Man Himself would agree with my point. cheers!

  • That strat is a tone monster.worth every penny.go for it!

  • hearing the Comfortably Numb solo and watching David Gilmour play it makes me, well, comfortably numb

  • Man,

the solo of Comfortably Numb is one the best solos in the history for sure.

  • does anyone else feel like David's playing touches their soul?

  • @cmstricker67 David plays what he is experiencing emotionally and in turn that transfer of emotion to the music he plays fills us with the same feelings he is experiencing. That is what the musicians's art is all about and David has it in abubdance.

  • Alien face at 3:38 haha! Gilmour is one of my all-time favourites. He is a great example when i want to show my friends fast playing =/= good playing. It's all about the feeling!

  • Everytime I heard this guitar solo make me fell chilly

  • I would have come in my pants had I had the chance to handle or play Dave's Black Strat...... :D

  • i really don't understand why you would want a copy of someone elses guitar.

  • @peacefrog1916

It's for people who think they will be as awesome as him if they have it, But in truth, they won't be.

  • @pacrat90 No it's not at all. It's for tone chasers, people who try & acquire the same tone due to their personal choice. I own a relic model, and i can also vouch that it's a good blues guitar. If I choose to play mostly Floyd stuff, then i just feel, why not. Remember, regardless of which guitar you have & which pickups you use, you always have your own style. Gilmour's sound is partially in his tone, but his technique, is his HANDS. I can't reiterate this enough when trying signature models.

  • Mr Gilmour's presence cuts through like a diomond at 2:10 of this vid. What presence!!!!!!.... Tone .... Emotion.......

  • Mr Gilmour's presence cuts through like a diamond at 2:10 of this video. What presence!!!!!!.... Tone .... Emotion.......

  • Thanks for your guitar inspiration of the years Mr.Gilmour

  • a guitar is so personal depends on the feel guilmour will sound like gilmour on a $100 palmer or kent

  • david actually had very little to do with the making of the replica. Phil Taylor probably said that just to get paid

  • David Gilmour is the greatest guitar player ever, heart and soul of Pink Floyd

  • @bd12.......no he didn't.

  • The neck pick up is a bit better than mine...Muahahahaha!!!!

  • It is a beautiful Guitar!! I remember watching his solo concert on HBO at the Hammersmith Odeon in 84. And it is such a cool looking guitar. And for some reason, it sounds extra - gilmour esque??

  • GILMOUR IS GOD

  • I like Dave but I love his strat more, whether he's playing it or not. Its a sexy machine.

  • @RussianCivilian if you spend the 6000 for the vintage replica, do you think they send you a diagram of all of the electronics peddles and racks that he uses to make the guitar sound like its still first in space?

  • lol Todd Krause let his hair grow.

watch the Eric Clapton Blackie Vid and he let himself go..

its an awesome repro but the price is unbelievable.

  • I wouldn't say.

  • He is the man. All time genius

  • @MrGeorge138 I hate Gilmour. LOL

  • Good for you and nobody cares lol

  • @king666nothing why do u hate gilmour..

  • @branch1234 Don't know really. Just don't like his playing. Comfortably Numb is probably the only decent solo played by him.

  • @king666nothing u dont know anything then..

  • @king666nothing just cause he doesnt do annoying sweeps and play super fast emotionless bullshit?

  • @branch1234 I'm not into shred either. Just don't like any of PF songs and Gilmour's playing. That's all. I'm not disputing his legendary status in the world of music, it's just not my thing.

  • @king666nothing lol alright

  • @king666nothing im sorry but you obviously have poor taste in music if you think comforatbly numb is gilmours best solo...and hate him

  • @MrReverendgreen Really? Is it obvious? You don't know fuck about my music preferences and you're trying to judge my taste? Based on what? On the fact that I don't listen to the same music as you? So do all people in the world who don't listen to PF and don't like Gilmour have poor taste in music?

Your argument doesn't hold any water, you pathetic excuse for a human being. Go be fucktard somewhere else.

  • @king666nothing i dont need to know you to know that if you dont like david or pink floyd there must be something wrong with your brain dipshit

  • @MrReverendgreen Are 12 years old or something? Can you provide any evidence in support of what you're saying? Because I can make a shitload of blank statements too. Like for example: "If you like Pink Floyd - then you must be a fag".

PF fans - previous statement was used by me purely in terms of the argument with the douchebag (a.k.a. MrReverendgree). It does not express my real thoughts. And I have no intentions to offend any of you.

  • @king666nothing sure i got some. i looked at ur vids

  • @MrReverendgreen The videos I post here have little or nothing to do with my music taste. Got something else?

  • @king666nothing what kind of reaction were you expecting posting “i hate gilmour. lol” on a david gilmour strat video?

  • @MrReverendgreen I just had this video, and I posted it. That doesn't mean I have to like Pink Floyd or Gilmour. That's all. I never listened to that type of music, because it never seemed/sounded appealing to me. I don't see "the genius" of David Gilmour. And it's just a matter subjective preference and personal opinion, so you will not be able to change it.

  • @king666nothing It's each to their own, if you're not really into Floyd or Gilmour it's no biggie. Thank you however for posting this video, i've got a relic Gilmour strat, and for this video, i thank you. =)

  • @king666nothing I would reccomend that you drop acid, listen to "The Dark Side of the Moon" in its entirety, THEN give us your opinon on the Floyd. Just saying.

  • @TheGreatStonedOne I've listened to enough PF to form my own opinion about them. Nothing is ever going to change it. It's just not my type of music - never has been, and, chances are, never will be. I'm into totally different genres/styles of music.

  • @TheGreatStonedOne "Dark Side of the Moon" was indeed spectacularly advanced and it is the only album I have refused to play for decades due to its extremely depressing message. It's a wet blanket for the soul and, I suspect, a few suicides, one in particular, have resulted from exposure to PF's depressing message. I do think that musicians have amazing skills but they are not suited as spiritual advisers as there is no boundary or the word "no" in their world.

  • @EdVidz I completely agree with you. For the longest time, I flat out REFUSED to listen to Pink Floyd because of the depressing air about their music, but this was before I experienced heavy psychedelics. I think that if you intersperse their later work like "Dark Side" with some of their early stuff, like for instance "Piper at the Gates of Dawn", you get a more well rounded listening experience. And I think tracks like "Money", "Eclipse", "Wish You Were Here" and "On the Run" are good neutral

  • @EdVidz mood tracks. And I wouldn't go so far as to say that exposure to Floyd played a huge role in suicides...I would think that someone who is capable of taking their own life has far more damaging influences than a rock band.

  • @TheGreatStonedOne I think that music can do a tipping point to a situation toward violence or passivity; although I disagree with you somewhat you do lay out some good backing to your views. Tip of the hat my friend.

  • @EdVidz i am reading your comment with amazement . not to critisize your commen thoug , but i experienced it the other way around , i sort off found regonision in it , without having a bad childhood or anything to complain about , i listend to it as if someone was giving me theyre view on well known facts of life . but i also think that , since they are so very british , it might do this more for brittish then for americans

  • @isitcosimblack I do understand your point, well taken.

  • @EdVidz Dark side of the moon is not depressing, to me, its just about things in life that a young adult thinks about. Birth, life, money, madness, love, depression, boredom, etc.

The message it gave me was 'get up and live your own life how you want to.'

  • @Xiolablu3 agreed..i hate when people call Pink Floyds music depressing..they just dont understand...cant think on a deeper level then what mainstream music provides

  • @MrReverendgreen

Actually, I'm a good pink floyd fan. And i play the music myself, on the guitar. Comfortably numb is a damn brilliant solo, what would make you think otherwise?

  • fat sound

  • Go the Fat 50s (with a souped up bridge in David's case).

  • This man's playing made me pick up the guitar 17 years ago, and his playing is timeless, epic, and emotional. He deserves his place on the walls of Fender....

  • He made me pick up the guitar last week, he said "I'm not carrying this to the gig, I'm David fucking Gilmour. Carry that for me before I fire your fucking arse".

  • @BarryDennen12 ..... Sure that wasn't Roger's bass you were carrying. David wouldn't treat you like a common peasent,lol....

  • @SephynnXx

hes a very powerful musician and such a great person

i have started only a little over a year ago ( because of him)

     the man is my idol

  • I have a relic Gilmour strat, number R46028, dated 17th February.

The quality on the actual relic is intense, the nitrocelullose lacquer actually completely all over the body, with every dig & sunburst colour underneath to go with it. The sound it produces, admittedly a few things from Dark Side would sound better through pedal (same ones used) but things like Echoes Live At Pompeii & the Live 8 reunion sounds, pretty damn exact.

I'm so happy with mine, she will stay with me forever.

  • is there any difference between the relic and the NOS?

  • @crazyscottsman22 There is a difference but it is mostly cosmetic. The "relic" is going to have all the identical Wear and tear marks that are on the original guitar. whereas the N.O.S. (New Old Stock), is going to be totally pristine with no marks. The playability and the sound is of course going to be different between the "relic" process, and just putting it together with no marks, but the "relic" thing is really a cosmetic thing.

  • its nice to hear some feedback from the musicans whos instument is being replicated rather than you just thinking oh god not another high price rip off he actually really likes it and if its good enough for him than its good enough for me

  • Very true man, he was very optimistic bout his guitar being replicated and even helped out. For what your gettin i think its worth the money :)

  • Were can i get the neck that david use?. Its so hot!.

  • HAHA Woot! Go TK... LOL thats my Uncle Todd... making amazing guitars!

  • david gilmour is just and awsome guitar player awsome job fender .

  • Not necessarily. It depends a lot of the guitar or if you like the body of your strat. I tried in mine and it didn't get near as the cs69 does..

I can only say that this must be due to the body of my strat (a JVaughan strat)

  • If the Fat '50s is good enough for David, then it must be great, for us
