This version is darker than the others i've heard. I find Harry Nilsson does it top notch, considering its his song. While Three Dog Night has an excellent version. The screaming ruins this version for me, i'm certain the majority of its audience enjoys it, just not my slice of cake.

If I had to guess it is his Ego and Superego taking a life or death gamble on controlling or destroying his Id. Seems to me that this "movie genre" theme transcends the last 30- years? Or even the last 50? So how is it that today... everyone under say 35, thinks what has been "borrowed," came from something made recently, by copycat compilers? This is nonsense.
