@lelligabriellei Pottasium Iodide is used to prevent fallout from accumulating in your Thyroid gland. Also Iodine 131 is a radio-isotope and a by-product of nuclear fission in reactors. So theres two examples of Iodine in connection with this incident. I think what you said is wrong.

I remember because after the radiation issue in Japan people in california and other states in the western part of the US were worried about getting cancer because it was all over the news that radiation was in the air from japan so people started taking iodine tablets but they were told to stop because too much is no good......thanks for the reply :D
