Granted, I like Manowar, but what were they thinking by going on a kids show? This is about as mismatched as it gets. It makes about as much sense as Marilyn Manson going on Pat Robertson's 700 Club show.
Great stuff - I was just transferring my VHS copy of this to DVD earlier tonight...turns out my copy is crap through the guitar solo, but then really good. At the end of the interview the host mentions Manowar coming back later in the show - they play "Revelation (Death's Angel)" while the credits run over the band...maybe only a bit over a minute long, but good stuff - I'll up it soon, doesn't look like it's on here. By The Way this show is called "Livewire" and it's from 1983 - Great Vid!
I remember seeing them in my youth, on this very show and thought what the flip. I can't believe how ahead of their time they were. They are still relevant now. And people were anticipating a bunch of air-heads but they are very articulate and intelligent. Heavy metal has gotten a bad rap for years. Too bad no one does it great anymore. It's like it has lost it's sense of danger. And it is an artform that is a caricature and parody of itself, a la Poison and the Motely Crues of the world.
@slopoke2112 No one does great metal anyomore? Have you heard Iced Earth? Or Blind Guardian? Gamma Ray? Rhapsody? If you dont think no one does it good anymore, you are definitely missing out.
probably their only interview that they left their stupid macho image and answered normally. And Nickelodeon tv program was way ahead to take the risk to bring Manowar into studio as it was not like glam metal that it's easier accepted.

you have to be 8 years old to be allowed to openly like this.If you are a grown man and listen to this with pride then you a truly a FAG and are a disgrace to metal!Theres people that think metal sucks and you make us ALL LOOK BAD!!!
Weren't these the same guys who put a theatrical intro about f***king a 16 year old girl in her parents' house on Into Glory Ride album? Here they are answering the questions of 14 year old girls and their parents as if they are perfect citiziens in warrior outfits. Laughable!
saw this when it was on in 83 at my grandmothers house, she was one of a few that had cable at the time, and she thought her grandson (ME)had been taken by the Devil himself..........she had had a hard enough time after i seen Ted Nugent Live in 78......i was 14 when i seen Ted.......
The crowd was very interesting-2 japanese girls, some europeans,2 africans(!!),or simply-yeah,they very little(1012 people),but from different countries/continents and thtas the cool!
They become loudest band in many stadiums in many countrys in the world :]).Also in North America Manowar always were very popular in young metal heads, but many commercial stations don't wanna to give in their shitty stations,so that's the reason Manowar played in 1982-1983(after Into Glory Ride they play in all world) in big halls and arenas, not odeons/stadiums!
Yea,Joey said the ture-yea,the debut has huge world-wide success!Their 1st permomanses in Asia,Europe,Australia,South America and also South Africa,Manowar played very times in stadium(in 1984 their world wide tour.
Yeah..So Manowar from 1st theyre album are very popular in the all world, but in USA commecial stations like MTV isn't play Manowar(еxcept in theyre promotation ;) ) so they are from the debut very popular in all world, also in the USA ;)
In US from theyre debut,Manowar are thinked for a propagand in USA Commercial stations, but from the debut in the all world theyre extremly popular-theyre first moth of sale in the debut has over than 500,000 copys!
I've seen them live yesterday in Offenbach and they are really sympaphetic guys. They have a good sense of humor but take what they do extremly serious at the same time. That's why they are the Kings of Metal!
