  • legends wind and rain was bad enough but snow can kiss my ass.. the northern monkeys are made of funny stuff

    \

  • in the video you slag off the Scots but you use a Scottish hill name

  • @ascar77uk Crib Goch is not scottish, its welsh.. it means red ridge... numpty

  • sorry did'nt mean muppets but you should be on it doing these types of things

  • great video lads

    muppets die on mountains

    real reconise real

doing crib goch myself soonish hopefully not in snow

good luck and all the best

    carry on the wizard shit

    they don't get it

  • Great vid lads i've walked/crawled across Crib goch a few times and once in snow and she certainly tests your mettle in winter conditions.

  • Great vid guys, you've a lot more bottle than me though to attempt that climb under them conditions. I did Crib Goch nearly ten years ago on a clear and calm day in the middle of summer. The wife still hasn't got the stains out my underpants to this day... Still at least I can say today have been there and done it!

  • "I've been up there once before, i gota say, its not right crackin!" Brilliant. Top film guys!

  • Only for the experienced climber.

There is so much shattered and loose rock along the ridge due to melting ice during hard winters that you have to know what you are doing.in the depth of winter.

Remember with so much ice around scrambling down the East Ridge to Bwlch Y Moch would be a death trap without ice axe and crampons and rope if things get nasty.

Ive been across in icey conditions withan experienced climber and its no fun.

    Stick to the Summer.

  • 'Do you not think we should of just gone up the Pyg Track?'

    'No.'

    'I do...'

    Love it. :D

  • well done fellas, im gonna do this for charity dressed as a drag queen and in stilletos in feb 2011.

  • Ha! ha! funny as fekc! the only thing missing was some banter about meat pies. Long live Henderson's Relish!!

  • Top vid gents, balls of steel.

  • great vid, propper boys doin stuff.

  • @orangeagenda Have a look at clach Glas Blaven in Skye ..some excellent videos by good operators. These boys sound a bit careless for inter conditions .

  • This video and climb is insane! Well done guys, I wouldn't have the balls for that in winter.

  • check out the facebook group for people who have done the crib goch traverse

  • E12 lol

  • my first ever scary scramble in nov 1999 and the wind n rain was nightmare! was very proud though cos I'm actually scared of heights!! haha( they 'made' me do it) now I'm hooked! we only ever do winter climbs- nice and peaceful! you guys should have ur own show ! funny and well filmed!

  • Ace

  • Really entertaining. You guys should have your own show. Cheers.

  • Jesus. I did this last year in the same conditions and it was the scariest and stupidest thing I have ever done!

Had never climbed Snowdon and had no crampons, axes, rope or drink. Was very lucky indeed. Bloody good fun though! Want to do it again... though perhaps slightly better prepared next time.

  • I've got the same accent, hahaha

this mountain is just crazy! I'm well gonna do it again...and again...hahaha, and again in the snow! this is a Cool video!

  • quality video....i climbed this last week, but in alot better conditions, u boys got some guts doing it in these conditions lol.... loving the accent by the way haha

  • Nice vid. Just got back from her. I climbed it during the night on clear weather. My first time too. amazing views and feeling at night.

  • Well in, fellas. The ridge looks ace in the winter.

Do you bother with a weather update before you set off?

I want to do the Crib Goch route this winter in the snow, but I'll probably fag out once I feel a bit of snow on me.

Are axes necessary? I can't be arsed with all the gear, just Gortex jacket, wooly hat etc haha.

  • yeah mate, if its snowing take axes and crampons...otherwise you'll get pricks calling you idiots. Good look.

  • Well done ...... Just don't call out the mountain rescue volunteers when you take a fall.

  • Absolutely heroic. Snowdonia is spectacular, even in the mist. Well done everyone with the guts to tackle any climb there.

  • Great video, I was up there yesterday and it was a nice day - I loved the dialogue and the views of some of the traverses - well done lads...

  • I love the mountains but Im a terrible veritgo sufferer. Trying to slowly overcome my phobia.

Had been thinking about giving Crib Goch a go, but not so sure after seeing this! Maybe its less daunting in the summer?

  • definately less daunting in the summer : -)....just did it last week with my husband (Dave!) who suffered from a fear of heights for yrs, but went on a course recently and managed to enjoy Crib Goch (I have a video on of it if you're interested)

  • If you suffer from vertigo give Striding Edge or Sharp Edge in the lakes a go. They are no less scary but not as long as Crib Goch so its all over quicker.... heheh

  • yeh been meaning to try striding edge : -)

  • hahaha, good work lads!

  • awesome, went that way yesterday [easter saturday]. saw Timothy Dalton or at least someone who looked identical to him. he probably went down via jetpack

  • Nice one lads, we are off up there tomorrow morning, hopefully the same route, i will post my video when i get back if i don`t die, ha ha ha

  • HAHA. "Do you not think we should have gone up the pyg track" Legendary =]

  • Lads - serious bottle needed for that - felt queezy watching it! I was bricking it doing it on a clear summers day!! Respect!!

  • lkfjdak 4:12 lkdjfkd

  • Total madness!. Is it any wonder 2 young lads have been brought down off there, the weekend just gone in body bags. Crib Goch is the best mountain in the uk for a climb and a scramble, but at the right time of year, and with all the right gear.

  • Your Statement is "Total madness" read it again and reconsider what your trying to pin on this video.

  • I did this same walk Friday 9 Jan 09 - very icy and pretty hairy up there but great day.

  • haha! me and my m8s did EXACTLY the same thing last sunday! "no crampons, no axes, summer boots". what a day! nice 1 lads!

  • Fek me lads. As a Mountain Leader myself I cant condone this kind of reckless behaviour. But I've done some daft stuff meself. Good on yer, you only live once. Great vid'. Max' Kudos boys.

  • The first sign of snow, it'd be red light spells danger for me and i'd be straight off to a local tavern!

  • wow amazing video. I have only just started to do mountin walking/climing and the frist mountin i went up was snowdon. I was told about Crib Goch an it did sound amazing but after seeing that video i dont think I want to try it. Someone fell from there the day before i went up. I tock the miners track and join the pig track. Great video

  • omg just do it, lifes too short man. Crib all the way"!

  • it aint cuz my grandad did it about 35 years ago in the winter. snow an ice.

  • lets go for it! yea, but itll be a buzz right?? lol!

  • Balls like space hoppers (frozen ones) Very impressive and well done

  • I love the sarcasm!

  • First ever winter crossing? Of Crib Goch? I doubt it! It may be your first time....if thats the case...Yay dudes well done!! Cool.

Did it in winter in 1985 and that was fun!

  • Definitely an entertaining video guys, but like you said at the start you weren't carrying winter kit, so it could have got very dodgy, especially with the verglas on the holds that you mentioned near the end. Conditions like that on the ridge are downright nasty

  • i went up there the other day but it was snowing at the same time as doin tht

    (we had fun)

  • i went up the other day

  • bloody hell lads, you have some balls to do that in the snow and ice, felt sick just watchin it!!!

take me hat off 2 ya!!!

  • Guys i gotta take my hat off to ya, went up crib goch today at 8 in the morning n it was a lil chilly but to do it when its all icy u've got some balls. Nice one

  • wcsl8r...u r an hero..stop being so patronising, who the fuk r u to call people fools...if u dont like your voluntary role then bin it.trust me life will go on without you.fool.

  • Is that Peter Kaye?

  • my mate and his posse went over crib goch on saturday, (middle of january) and he told me about your vid to understand the buzz he got making it over. Fucking hardcore that chaps nice one.

  • I'm not gay or ought but i love your accents ,I've been over that ridge lots of times but never in snow and ice you have to be insane to try that !

  • Take it you all survived? "Don't try this at home".

  • great vid lads must go over in winter bit tame in summer

  • Excellent video! The banter sounds a lot like our lot when we're in the mountains! Makes it that bit more enjoyable!

I haven't tried Crib Goch in winter conditions, wee bit too serious for me that! Tryfan's North Ridge under snow and ice was enough for me . . .

  • E12 7B??? at least a C surely! nice video, it's that Northern humour

  • well done lads, i can totally appreciate this vid, I just got back from crib coch today.

oh, and WCSl8r how about rescuing your head from your *rse, bud. Do you have friends at all??? this is what the climbing community attitude is all about!! They are ENJOYING the climb!!!!!!!!

  • wcsl8r your missing what the video is all about. This is a film! It has been made to look gung ho. You've also not read the previous comments, this has already been explained. The two of us are experienced climbers who were out enjoying ourselves, hopefully this is still allowed.

If you consider the people you are regularly rescuing as "fools" I most certainly hope we never have that pleasure. With that attitude maybe a change of vocation is in order.

  • The number of times i've been called out to search and rescue a group of fools like this is just unbelievable. It's this gung ho attitude that gets people killed. None of you fell, this time, thankfully. I hope you realize people like myself and my crew risk our lives to save yours.

  • are you saying people should not enjoy the mountains and should not accept the challenge this mountain offers. are you saying you joined a mountain rescue team on the hope that their would be no mountain climbers to rescue. im not experienced but i am learning, i will one day do cribb goch and if i should fall and if i should survive, then i will expect to be greated by rescuers who have a more understanding policy to yours. the mountains are not ornaments, they are there for good use.

  • Top video lads, have you got anymore to post on here? Pennine pussies lol

  • u can tell ur experienced boys so u dont have to explain urselves 2 anyone!

Though all u young pretenders dont do this in this weather unless you are the real deal otherwise expect a visit from RAF Valley!!!!!

    LOL

  • Awesome lads, that's as good as it gets. hope you post some more. Good luck.............

  • great video lads.wouldnt do it myself in that weather!!

  • I got vertigo watching!!!

  • Great vids lads and I'm sure we didn't have as much banter when we did it in what I must say was even deeper snow, Idiots to try this if not experienced though and no we wern't either!! luckily we couldn't see the drops..

    Thanks

  • titfreak we're both very experienced, it was just for the film we pretended not to be.

  • Nice vid lads. Done Crib Goch in the summer which was fun enuff. U2 must be mad.

  • Absolutely bloody hilarious. Best bit is when the Yorkshire Pussie starts to go down the wrong way and comes back up with numb hands. Well done nobeds

  • nice vid lads. and some bloody funny banter lol. shame it wasn't longer.

  • you guys are excellent

  • When was this taken? I did this in similar conditions in November 2006 with a group looking similar to you behind us.!

  • very fun, good laugh

  • Hey Steve, great video! Have you got any video's from Kilimanjaro? P.S. Has that tw#t Nick moved anyone into our house yet!?
