@20callaway Who are you kidding? Clyde was just about every kid's hero from NJ in the early 1970s - me included! A couple of the kids liked Willis though as well as the Pearl after "the trade"!
I was in high school and college during the Knicks' 2 championships. I thought there was a good argument that Clyde deserved the MVP more than Reed. Certainly in the first championship finals when Reed sat out most of Game 5, didn't play at all in Game 6, and was only an inspirational leader in Game 7. Clyde had an unbelievable Game 7. And he was key in Game 5 with all his steals, baskets & court leadership.
Attending High School in the early 70's, a time when "Clyde" & the Knicks were riding high, was a special time for me. Walt "Clyde" Frazier, in how he conducted his personal life, on & off the court, somehow created a personal "Blueprint" for me as to how I wanted to be when I "grew up"! At a time when "Superfly" & "Shaft" were all the rage, Walt showed me that you didn't have to be a criminal to dress & be cool....and I loved him for it!
Man, people forget that it don't matter what year it was or what clothes you wore, these Knicks were young, crazy, and talented. Clyde had the mad crazy style. Two RINGS speak louder than words baby. Beating the Lakers no less!!! Clyde can talk all he wants, I don't mind.

His game was surprisingly conservative considering his off court style.
