MollyBear will snuggle when she wants to, but we think it is because she was mistreated by the people we got her from. She certainly has come a long way, but is sometimes still quite skittish. She can be quite stubborn also, must be an Akita trait! Does Milo bark much? MollyBear makes sounds we call "Monkey Dog" sounds & the closest she has ever come to a bark was when our landlord startled her.
@elfingrl Milo is vocal about just about everything, from giving a little 'gruff' to let us know he wants something to barking like a lunatic everytime me or my dad gets home lol I do love Akitas since owning one they have to be my favourite breed of dog.
@elfingrl Thank you! :D I must admit he is stubborn and won't do ANYTHING he doesn't want to do but I actually love that about him, makes him more of a best friend than a pet. Does your mollybear like to cuddle? Milo doesn't really like it but he does have the odd moods where he'll lay by me on the couch and snuggle up.
@mickiel21 He's a pure breed ACTUALLY, he's k.c registered and a longhaired AMERICAN akita. Hachiko was a Japanese akita an they are completely different to american akitas in size and colouring so learn something before you insult my dog
@Porchia2007 Thanks he's coming upto 2 and a half this christmas :) nearly growing into a full dog now :P still tries to play all the time though lol.
@NatRabbit123 Because Hachiko is a Japanese Akita and the two colored ones are usually American Akitas. But in America they cal both breeds the "Akita" in Europe they are two seperate breeds. You should google it, learn about the differences they have. For example, the American Akita always has a black mask. =)
@NatRabbit123 because theres an american akita and japanese-akita inu,japanese only come in pure white,silver brindle and red and white,but americans can ce in loads of different colours,and they dont always have a back mask its just that japanese akitas CANNOT have a black mask,americans can have one or not,this one here is not a cross breed its a long coat american akita

He is beautiful! Our MollyBear is a long haired American Akita also and looks very similar to Milo.

AAs have black mask, JAs have white masks & Tweenies(cross between Jap & American) have both.
