I don't think people were angry at the King per se, for the actions, they were angry at the country.

Your claim that the king will pardon those accused or convicted is incorrect. You are correct that he has claimed this, but he has not done it in practice. There are many expamples especially recently of cases of convictions for minor ridiculous offenses, speculation is that the prince is spurring these actions to reinforce his power upon coronation.

Well of course people should not be aloud to say anything slanderous but no one should be free from critism. Even the King himself has said this.

Yes the majority of Thai's obviously do love their King but a minority obviously don't and they should with in reason be able to expess this view.

Thaksin for 6 months with every efforts of Thaksin to banned us. That was the worst time in Thailand. People couldn't say anything bad about Thaksin. Otherwise, they got legal problems. No TV or radios dared to criticize Thaksin even though he was obviously broke laws. We were fighting for months on street to voice our opinions.

I don't see how insulting the king would help develop democracy in Thailand. It's different story. Most of the insulting videos coming out after Thaksin was ousted. And Thaksin was ousted by the people. I was one of thousands of people in Bangkok to protest

The Thai King is a truly great man who has devoted his life to helping his people. He uses his wealth to provide schools, hospitals, farms, water, training, and more to those Thais less fortunate. It is the King who is returning the country to democracy. The King has proposed the abolition of lese majeste laws. The reverence and good will of all Thais for the King promises a solution to the problems in South Thailand. Long live the King.

The selection of the next monarch will be done by the process defined in the constitution. For me it is not so important that HM Adulyadei is King.He is a man who help. Sorry, I´m not Thai I´m German, but I respect his done for the people in Thailand. I learned a lot about the King from my wife (Thai) and I read a lot of his life. This is more important for me to understand the Thaipeople better and better. I know, many people say that it is not possible for a farang to understand asian people. But I try and I learn.

I think its really cool that you're trying to understand and learn more about it^_^ I dont think its impossible, just that for some farangs its a bit difficult to understand since its a totally different country and culture but its great that you're taking the time to learn more about it!
