  • Aaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! The early 90's...nothin better. ;-)

  • I had the biggest crush on Tracey Gold when I was 12 and watching this show on Disney I still think she's hot, Joanna Kerns was and still is a knock out too.

  • Oh, Kirk Cameron. <3

  • Hey TV networks, read our lips, "ENOUGH WITH THE REALITY TV SHIT ALREADY!" Get that stupid mindless shit off the tv and give us are happy, wonderful, positive, feel good, wholesome sitcoms back.

  • @redmr2na Amen!!

  • @balser77 Thanks for your comment. I felt it was high time someone said something about all the stupid BS "reality"shows on TV now. I love how there called reality TV shows, but they're about as far from reality as you could possibly get.

  • Oh shi- Nostalgia just hit me like a ton of bricks. Didn't care much for this particular show growing up, but I watched it when it was on, and boy-howdy that song caught me off-guard.

  • . . . . And to think you've all been witness to the childhood of the man who will guide the chosen to paradise, to glory, when the missles fly and reduce those " left behind " to piles of smoldering ash. It's like being nestled in the hay along with Baby Jesus and the drummer boy.

Now, I lay me down to sleep.

I pray Kirk Cameron's career shall keep

us safe until the time is nigh

as Rapture sends our souls to fly . . . .

    ( * sob * . . . . * sniffle * )

What to pack ? What to pack ?

  • ahhh...the good old days.

  • i feel like im getting younger from listening to all the classics.

  • like this theme, the best of em all

  • like this them the best of em all

  • This song makes me wanna cry cuz it brings me back to the "better days" when my life was picture perfect. Guess we all gotta grow up sometime huh

  • wow i must be going soft, watching all of these old clips. 35 and from ireland, thank you american tv

  • Just now...

  • I had sex to this song..lol

  • Every time I watch this I miss my childhood. I grew up watching mostly the re-runs, but the song took me back when my family were still together watching this in our family room on the couch as one happy family, the happy times of my childhood.

  • @Playaofdasouth

That's what is wrong with today, no parents do that with their kids like we had when we were little...I was a teenager when this came out, & like you, when I hear this song, I think back to my childhood! I hate to always live in the past, but it is what gets me through the crazy environment of today!

  • ahh , i fuckin miss tthis show , 1m 14 . but i grew up watching it on The N (currently Teennick) i use to watch it EVERYDAY!!!

  • i always wanted to fuck the mom

  • lol, its Kirk Cameron

  • me encanta esta cancion (Y)

  • does anyone else remember an episode where Mike is all alone in his room towards the end of the show and they play "Could've been" by Tiffany? I know this isn't my imagination.......I think it might have been an episode where he snuck out of his room to see a girl, but it didn't work out????? Help....

  • I wish ABC would allow more streaming of their shows.. Some used to be on AOL TV now none are online and all I can get is an incomplete DVD sets of Growing pains from net flix. Family Ties is okay but you have to be around in the 80s to get most of the political based jokes and all episodes of family ties stream on Netflix. growing pains is so much better!

  • It's a shame television has deviated from the family-centered formula. I will say that Melissa and Joey on ABC Family is the closest thing to a family show currently on TV. Melissa and Joey reflects society without being crude or inappropriate.

  • :27 is just fucking sick... those sick fucking hollwood sick-fucks always have to slip some perv shit in; just like Disney.

  • @analyzingfunny

Get a freaking life you dick slap!

  • is this a special theme for the show?? or the song has a name and singer??

  • It's a growing pain to watch this

  • I've had this song in my head for the past week. lol

  • i was born in 95 so im only 16 right now, but i find half the shit on television unwatchable. shitty reality and awful, poorly written sitcoms. i spent a huge part of my younger childhood watching re runs of shows like this and many other great shows, so im happy i could at least have a piece before it was too late

  • Have you heard the good news? Kirk has.

  • @dragonfly5553

    Me too....

  • The wife was a smoken hot milf. When I was younger I would always see Joanna Kerns pretty face during intro and it made me feel good. Now I know its because I wanted to bust a nut on it. Damn I wish that I could of been the dad in that family and knocked that milf up. Love seeing the pregnant picture and dreaming of sweet love. XD

  • "As long as we keep on giving?" That's the last time you will ever hear that in America. Americans are takers now, not givers.

  • And now we have the Osbournes and the Simmons...

  • Ahhh the 90's ..... wow chills down my back.

  • @Kay2be2M I like science fiction too. I wasn't talking about Harry Potter. I love Harry Potter. Twlight, not so much. When I said wizards I meant Wizards of Waverly Place, when I said secret pop star I meant Hannah Montana. My point is, the above shows are just pathetic. American Television has died. Morals and values don't matter anymore. Tv has failed miserably. And don't get me started on reality Tv.

  • Share in the laughter and love

  • Americans don't know what the next thing is. America accomplished what it set out to do. It created more millionaires and billionaires then ever. America has changed into something strange. Its corrupted and something innocent like this would never be on any network again because people will know its just a farce.

  • Yo Alan Thicke was a gorgeous teenager. Whether that's really his pic, idk. but still.

  • @MizzNae126 Heck yeah that's him lol...That's the type of pics. they took back then, with the different color-schemes & all, they almost look fake! Not like the color you see today of course...But I agree...He was a gorgeous teenager...Even as an adult on here back then...I would've gone after him if I was on that set lol!

  • im black guy from the motherfuckin streets and in love this theme song....biatch

  • what happened to him

  • Especially when your religious beliefs are particularly bat shit insane.

  • Kirk and the bananna man....true love!

  • @ImicrowavedMyCat is he death?

  • oh Kirk cameron was so cute, so sad he grew up just to become a complete creationist retard. Oh well, he's still hot.

  • I honestly wonder what happened to tv today. These type of family shows taught us love, and values, and in a touching, funny way. This had such a charm to it, like many others. Why can't there be family shows like this now? Sadly, were stuck with shows like the Jersey Shore or The Real World. It's a disgrace. This show was the best, and these types of shows shouldn't be forgotten. I mean if America is going to spend time watching tv, shouldn't it be good and teach us something? so sad.

  • @TheLovingLucy I feel the same way as i would give anything for television to be the way it use to be but sadly the family sitcoms alot of us grew up on are long gone.

  • when Nickatnite was actually good.

  • 80's and 90's sitcoms: the staple of Family television. It's also funny how themes songs back then were all about accomplishing things together and being the best we can be; today, it's all about being better than anyone else. RIP American television.

  • @dcguy30 No kidding, nothing interesting about shows these days, some are good but the rest are shite.

  • I wish they still had family shows like this. family ties, family matters, full house, they were so heart warming. seems like today everything is about vampires, or wizards, or secret popstars. nothing relatable anymore. very sad.

  • @TheLovingLucy Hey!! I like science fiction so I take offense to that, except for Twilight and Harry Potter, I hate those movies, Nothing about these shows were really relatable to me but I loved that they were quite innocent and always gave you hope of a happy ending. Now every sitcome says the word sex in every other sentence. So yeah, it's sad that you can't even sit with your kids in the evening anymore to watch tv.

  • @TheLovingLucy then you should watch Community :)

  • @TheLovingLucy They only make shows that appeal to the masses. Vampires, wizards, and secret popstars are what Americans want to watch.

  • @TheLovingLucy I totally agree. I find myself watching these older shows because they just seem better than most tv shows today.

  • @TheLovingLucy

Don't forget the HOMOSEXUALS! Dear LORD what has this world gone to?

  • @TheLovingLucy Modern family should suite you, no?

  • @TheLovingLucy I know what you mean. I have to say one thing. They are true Survivors. Tracey Gold with her Anorexia and Alcoholism, Jeremy Miller being "Ripped" off by his Managers and having Dyslexia without even realizing it. Kirk Cameron being "Jealous" of Leonardo DiCaprio and Joanna Kerns being a successful Director. She would have been perfect on Y & R as JT's Mother.

  • @TheLovingLucy r u kidding... this was capitalist propaganda!

  • @TheLovingLucy get over it

  • @TheLovingLucy Roseanne =) my fav show.

  • great memories... THUMBS UP if it gave u goose bumps too!

  • A Jesus freak and a Homosexual. Both are gay!

  • Why were their names written in Japanese on the top of each picture?

  • @APTKANE82 i know!!! o _0

  • I never knew how awesome this theme song was until I heard it sampled in the My Kapowski song.

  • I loved this show. TGIF was the BEST!!! I had a crush on Mike Seaver..LOL!

  • @TheScorpio4lyfe I had a crush on Kirk Cameron.

I still do. HAR HAR HAR HAR HAR HAR

  • NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! boneeeeeer!!

  • this is the best tv show theme ever

  • i hated this show.. the big brother became a washed up child actor turned fundie..he wouldnt even kiss girls on the show..

  • @xspettacolare he's not fundie and he did kiss..

  • @Jamiedana

yes, he is he goes around town telling folks about jesus . there's clips of him on youtube talking to gang members about being saved and stuff..

  • @xspettacolare Everything you said was true, save for one thing: he DID kiss Kate, his IRL and character fiancee at the time, now Mike (and Kirk's) wife. SEVERAL times on the air.

  • @TheOriginalCrashnbrn

ok so he did kiss a girl once , but he never went all the way.. he was a lame dude ..

  • SO true Greetings and Huks

  • COol!!!I SO MUCH LOVE THIS

  • Hey shout out to Kirk Cameron. You choose to seek God above all else. Good for you most precious child of God. I am so happy for you and you are very brave. I wish you all of the blessing of God. Keep on moving forward, because you are headed in the right direction and welcome Kirk you and your beautiful family to God's beautiful family. Your my brother in Christ. God Bless

  • this is a good song...great memories

  • Family sitcoms needs to make a comeback!!!!

  • Tracy Gold is still hot in that video after all these years...

  • 0:31 fred?!

  • I jerked off to all of them, when i was a kid

  • @MustLovePoop you must go to a mental clinic

  • great show...kirk has gone nuts though..

  • Great show, great theme, and no, I don't think Kirk Cameron has gone "nuts".

  • Leonardo DiCaprio was added to the opening credits during the final seasons. I remember when he was on this show. Great show and great memories. I miss my childhood. :o(

  • RIP jeremey miller

  • @TheVirale err he's still alive isn't he?

  • @ischultz25 ya he is still alive the actor that played boner is the one that died

  • I so miss watching these kinds of sitcoms, I'm SOO glad I got to experience the 80's as a kid.

  • I had the biggest crush on Carol.

  • Jeremy Miller sure was a happy baby.

  • I agree with acatboy23. plus,if you think that way, then that makes you just as ignorant, which Kirk Cameron is not. He is Christian, a full practicing Christian, who believes not one man is better than the other. It took guts to go against the only life he knew and made a new one for himself. And also namecalling like "nut case" makes you very judgmental and as acatboy says, "sad". Kirk is living his life the way he sees fit as we live ours. Now let's put this issue to rest.

  • It's a shame Kirk Cameron turned into an ignorant religious anti-science nutcase

  • @Syrinx69 better that then staying an athiest the rest of his life.

  • @acatboy23

LOL! Being an ignorant religious anti-science nutcase is better than being an atheist? I think not. I don't think it's better than being anything.. in fact it's pretty sad.

  • @Syrinx69 Well then its really sad you think that way.

  • @Syrinx69 Go to hell. Oh, you are. Nevermind.

  • I've been watching too many intros to old tv shows from the 80's/90's right after each other. It really takes you back for a moment. Then you wake up and realize you're in modern times. Man that was a long time ago.

  • oh my god.

  • This is one of those rare themes you can bop your head to.

  • I still know the words to this song

  • Why don't they make these kind of sitcoms anymore? I don't think these kind of sitcoms are out of fashion or anything like that. They are still relevant.

  • Why don't they make these kind of sitcoms anymore? I don't think these kidn of sitcoms are out of fashion or anything like that. They are still relevant.

  • You can't help but smile!

  • i didnt know annie was in this show/

  • This has to be the BEST show out of the 80's, even the beginning credits, which they do NOT make today...There are no family-related opening credits anymore, no music, no nothing to bring a family together, which is due to lack of talent, & the almighty dollar to make more commercials! Plus we can thank the internet, & all the computers & such which consume our time today, so once that came more known, everything went down the tubes!

  • the fact that Kirk became a religous fanatic and stuck it down everyone's throat kinda ruined the show for me.

  • @livinlarge it was the intro lol

  • This show had and still does have the best opening for a TV family show.It felt like they were a real family.

  • brad pitt totes in an episode an leo d. come on now ppl thats redic

  • i like how they put Krissy in there. such a simple god damn time

  • God.. Hearing and seeing this just brings back so many good memories of my childhood..

  • i loved this show! aw miss my childhood lol

  • I just loved that show loved the theme song(Jennifer Warnes making a theme to movie and theme show soundtracks) I had heard in '92 that the series finale had happened(when I was 12, but gram said it'd be back but I know it said series) so when TV guide came back for fall season '92 I looked for GP on Wednesday nights sat nights. No sir. But I did tape the reunion a few years later. I lost it somewhere. abc family reran it a few times...N at N was Stupid to pull this off schedule

  • BABY YOU AND MEEEE!!

  • i agree with lobbles69 : with the snorting of the drug marijuana you lead to an early grave theres people died of growing pains in there left leg due to way too many squat bat in ther toliets and also eating cocain powder and rubbing pcp in to there eyeballs the postage of this video was fucked and you have know life at all and it takes balls to come out about you gayness and watching tv programs like this one we have playing to day, good day to you sir.

  • why would you post something like this on youtube where anybody can see it? These people have clearly grown up snorting marijuana, and the last photos were taken the day before they died. It's obvious they came up with a title like "Growing Pains" because of the fact you get nose cancer if you take marijuana before your 27! In future think before you post something like this and do your research about snorting marijuana!

  • @lobbles69 How do you snort marijuana"

  • I loved this show when I was a kid loved tracey gold.

  • This would make a perfect intro

  • the good old lazy days sitcom..I miss those days

  • THis isn't even original, You like copied it straight off the show.

  • Boner looks like barry manilow

  • This is quintessential 80's for me. I never though i'd be referring to the 80's as some ancient decade. God

  • i always wanted to fuck tracey gold

  • Too bad Kirk Cameron turned into a religeous weirdo

  • Como me gusta esta serie!!

  • ALAN THICKE LOL

  • Who'da thunk Kirk Cameron would've turned out to be biggest loser from this cast. Tracy Gold is hot. Drunk and skinny, but hot.

  • @elbob17 He really could have been a big star, or at least have had some nice supporting roles. Just needed someone to step in as this show was winding down. And give him some career advice. Number one on the list of advice, do not discuss your religious beliefs

  • Man that theme is Classic. Makes me reminisce of me getting ready for school for the next Day. This is when TV had Values. Where did it all go? Marketing should be ashamed of the Trash they put on TV now. Reality " Shows " Killed TV. But they will never kill my Memories.

  • @juliomrrr i know what you mean I'm getting a little tired of Seth Marlane's cartoons especially American dad they all seam to be about being gay or closet homosexuals

  • @juliomrrr You hit the nail on the head with that statement!

  • I actually just found about about Andrew while looking up the show. That is very awful, I give my condolences, he was so funny on this show.

    RIP Andrew Koenig

  • Kirk Cameron should drop the flat earth charade, his acting alone proves he evolved from apes.

  • Who would have thought then that Kirk Cameron ......would 'Grow to be Pain'

  • This is where Leonardo Dicaprio started his acting

  • aww Kirk Cameron was so cute before he was a right-wing nut!

  • Comment removed

  • Very Beautiful pictures aren't they!

  • I grew up watching Growing Pains and I still watch it. I will always love this show.

  • this show is a classic. The crappy sitcoms there are 2day do not compare to Growing Pains or the other shows from that era. I miss the old sitcoms they were the best.

  • how is Andrew Koenig?

  • nope?

  • RIP Andrew Koenig

  • Wow Ashley Johnson barely cleared the ending of that song. lol

  • i miss these kind of sitcoms!

  • @Daynruz

I miss these kinds of theme songs. Nowadays they just have a 5-second song before the episodes begin. I think they really underestimate the power of an opening song like this, or like the ones from Step by Step, Full House and all those shows.

  • @davidvdb20 your right!

  • @Daynruz amen to that. they were loving families and every episode had a morale to the story. i wish my kids would have had the opportunity to grow up when I did. now the crap I catch them watching makes me sick and pisses me right off.

  • my brother looks like jeremy miller :)

  • So sad as I now realized what character he played. May God forgive him and heal his spirit and his family's difficulties. Depression is a real bad thing as we need to ask God for help.

  • R.I.P. Boner

  • @zapwatt who's Boner?

  • @zapwatt Boner died?! ALL IS WRONG WITH THE WORLD!

  • R.I.P Andrew Koenig. You'll be missed.

  • Aww... qué recuerdos!!! Ésta la veía cuando era un chavalín!!! :-o

  • More air to breathe?...(^^)

  • RIP.. you will be missed
