When you recorded this, Did you have an overhead mic? I'm looking to get these mics but I only have 4 channels on my board. Would I be able to attach 2 of these mics to a DI box and Send them to my 1/4" channels?
@dee304 I recorded this with 2 overhead (spaced with one panned left and the other panned right) and 5 close mics.I suggest you get a bigger mixer (or if you want very good quality in your records, an interface with at least 8 XLR inputs) but if you're on a tight budget you can do it with 2 overhead mic's,a snare mic and a kick mic pluged into your mixer.
@Yellowrcheese Its a 14"x6.5" Steel case snare so it has a little low punch to it,I also tuned the lowest head very tight (its rigged to explode xD) and the top head mid to high tension.
Also there's a puresound custom snare wire that are as loose as possible without unwanted snare buzz.
My tip is:dont be afraid of tuning your snare heads way up,they can handle mutch more then you think
AND BE SURE YOUR HEAD IS EQUALLY TENSIONED AT EACH LUG!!

@sidnator Thanks :)
Try the heel-toe technique, i use it sometimes and works great and some practice on 16th notes on the bassdrum can help as wel.

How did you get your snare to sound so perfect? I have the exact same heads on my snare and it still sounds like crap.
