Dale Begg Smith isn't the first athlete to migrate to another country just because his country of birth didn't accept him.

He gave the sport away, it wasn't until he moved to Australia that he became successful under the Australian Ski Programme. I agree his reaction was unusual for someone who had just won an Olympic medal but who makes the rules on how we are suppose to react, he did nothing wrong towards the other athletes, he was gracious in defeat and Australia salutes him.

I watched an Australian interview with Bilodeau and it just reaffirms what I had initially thought. He is funny, full of life, laid back, and such an all round awesome person who has been through a lot. Well done to Bilodeau and Canada! To call the Canadians cheats just makes us look bad.

There is a reason you need to wear padding in Hockey. there is huge forces applied to a player when hit. In hockey traveling at those speeds those hits can generate forces of a ton or more. That is more force then a shark biting you just so you know.

Force tests have been done for both sports. Even with all the equipment that Football players wear, more force is still created in a football hit opposed to a rugby hit. This has allot to do with Football players football players being 6 foot 300lb muscle bound guys.

In hockey allot of the equipment has to do with lawyers and shit. Allot of equipment used to not be required until head injuries go so severe someone died. Hitting your head on the ice can kill you.

Well actually there are differences in what is a legal tackle and what isn't. I actually like rugby and have played it for a number of years so I am not going to run it down to much. 

In football pretty much every hit is legal, Your goal is to do what ever it takes to get the other person to the ground. American football is considered a collision sport, rugby is considered a contact sport.
