quite impressive. im a fire spinner aswell and was wondering how close do the come to your legs? i unfortunately have light 3rd deg. burns from an accident with mine (and a failed fire extinguisher) and would like to know befor i consider buying a set.

no, monkey fists are a solid knot of the wicking rope. These are made on a frame, like a wiffle ball.. but only 2 pieces of kevlar wicking, think X and Y planes.. one circle of wicking perpendicular to the other.... they are awesome and i am getting some!

The whole thing isn't wick. It is shaped like a cross. So not actually all that much fuel is used.
