  • Katie, love your reviews. Would you say that Terre d'Hermes pure parfum can be worn by a woman? I don't like sweet fragrances and love woods.

  • @lagiseti Yes! Both the edt and parfum work for women who love to wear woodsy fragrances. Women who love woods and men who love deep orientals should always "cross the aisle" to get their fragrance needs met.

  • you make me laugh !

  • love this review! this is such a nice fragrance. :)

  • When I first tried this it reminded me of something I couldn't put my finger on. A couple of days later I remembered what it was...solder. To me at least, this smells identical to melted solder. Which isn't something you want to smell of.

  • @ZENOG3N Oh weird! That's so specific, and you're right, once that's in your head, you're not going to be happy if you associate it with this fragrance.

  • I like watch your review, they are so lively.

By the way, I just bought Terre D'Hermès Pure Parfume and I love it.

I do not like the sharp citrus notes in EDT, but I love the Pure Pafume version.

Living in hot & humid tropical country, this perfume's longevity is insane, I can still smell it after 8 - 10 hours.

  • @taewittawat Thanks for the feedback on the parfum version. So glad you're digging KP Smells!

  • a very nice fragrance, and it stays with you a long time.

  • How can anybody talk about this scent without mentioning CEDAR. I remember doing some woodworking with aged cedar wood and I wished I could bottle that scent and wear it and Terre D'hermes is the closest (and thankfully not as harsh and brash) to that cedar scent I've experienced in a cologne.

  • @foozybearz You're so right! The peppery cedarwood is certainly present, here.

  • It's a great great fragrance! According to wikipedias classification a pure parfum is 15-40% of oils! That's really quite a lot! :)

  • @Kruemel952 Yes it is.

  • 1:04 - 1:19 I cringed so hard

  • @Marinaske Haha!!! Me too! She really does not pull off 'expression' at all!!!

  • Is the Parfum version only available in 2.5oz?

  • which do you think is better farenhight by dior or terre d hermes to your nose.

  • @sf2explus I love both of those! It comes down to a mood thing.

  • @sf2explus you mean that farenheight smells like terre??

  • @shanetyty no they are completely different but they creat the same feeling for me. nothing alike. both classic.

and classy. both last long and both are a little harsh when first sprayed. farenhight a little more harsh though at first both are excellent scent.

  • @sf2explus It's nice to know that someone has the same opinion as me, yesterday I didn't know which one to choose, they're so diffeernt but both good :D

  • @Marco686marques i agree if you like the green vibe go for farenhight. if you like clean go for terre. nut both are clean having said that i think its two classics worth having in any wardrobe and also reccomend 50 ml bottle of both they do last long only need 1 spray and thats it maybe two in the cold. if your into this style of scent i reccoment Guerlain homme EDT amazing scent

  • haha i can't seem to decide between the EDT or EDP??? what are the differences??

  • @justinlow1990 It doesn't come in an EDP, only the EDT and the parfum. I discuss the differences in the video.

  • I have worn this fragrance since its launch in 2006.The French don't care what you say as long as you pronounce it correctly. She is somewhat discredited for not knowing how to pronounce it .Terre like Tear. Rule of thumb The 1st H is never pronounced neither the S if its on the end like Erme So lets all say "Tear de ermay." That being said, It is a great sent for kick'n aroun'. Compliments from Ladies. Trash don't seem to like it, which is reason enough for me to wear it !

  • Hey, you are so Sexi!!!, I have Terre dhermes, i m Brazilian, but I m living in Barcelona.

    Thanks for your video!

  • Hm.. I don't know. I like the bitterness in the EDT. And, the polite ruggedness kind of what makes this so intriguing. It's been awhile since I was actually suprised and taken by a fragrance.

I have never smelled the Parfum version, and it's about 12 gas and an hour drive to where I might be able to smell it. So, its kinda hard to make a decision on what to order.

However, I think that if the orange was more dominate and this was softer/sweeter, that may take away from what is so exciting. ?

  • @Prophecy23JC It's all theoretical until you do a side-by-side test. You could always send away for a sample from theperfumedcourt or reirien.

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells Ya, I know. In theory, it seems like those who like sweeter fragrances like the parfum of this. But.. Until you smell, you never know.

I just don't like buying samples of fragrances I am going to buy a bottle of. It seems like a waste. Especially when it should be as simple as visiting a local store. Eh..Oh well.

Thanks for the heads up about that reiren place. I refuse to buy at the perfumed court though. ..for now. They are a rip.

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells I'm actually kinda suprised that you would like the sweeter one on a man. On yourself.. I could totally see it. But, for a guy.. Just thought you would be more attracted to the EDT.

  • Love 0:19! LOL

  • Hi Katie, what would you recommend for a 17-year-old girl? I like something that smells fresh, not too flowery, but still kind of girly :)

  • @strawberrydream813 Hmm...DKNY Be Delicious? Gap Grass? Fresh Sugar? Cartier Eau de Cartier Essence d`Orange? Fresh Redcurrant Basil? Give those a whirl.

  • I really wanna try this one. I quite like the original. JCE is a master. I'm glad he will be one of the noses featured at MAD.

  • @CanwllCorfe615 I have high hopes for the new Center of Olfactory Art at NYC's Museum of Art and Design. Can't wait to visit.

  • great review.

Also, you really turn me on :-D

  • finally got around to trying the EdP, you are right it is much smoother, and i layer with Lalique's encre noire, it is a heaven combination.

  • @handelviola Fancy!

  • Hello Katie! =)

Could you recommend me a really earthy scent, something that smells like earth after the rain?

Thank you, I really enjoy your videos! =)

  • @AnandaOficial Try Dirt or Thunderstorm by Perfumer's Workshop (the smell great, but don't last long). Also check out L'Artisan Parfumeur Patchouli Patch. More off the beaten path are Chanel Coromandel and Bruno Acampora Musc, 2 of my earthy favorites.

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells Thank you so much for your reply!

  • My female friend today said the scent smelled like "food... vegetables" and that it was "kinda disturbing"

It was the first time I wore this and was very excited (got a sample) :(

  • @dolcevalse9883 "Disturbing", huh? I wonder what her frame of reference is for scents? It sounds like you've just expanded her world - she just doesn't realize it yet.

  • you are very nice :D arr ! i have the edt version and it is nice ... is it the pure parfum better ? i heard that it is no sillage compared to edt ...

  • @RonaldoGod I find the parfum quieter than the edt. But it's deeper and richer. Sillage isn't everything.

  • I REALLY alike this scent, i got a sample.

However could you be honest in telling me whether this is suited for a 19 year old boy?

  • @xheartshapebox I think so!

  • @xheartshapebox I'm 19 and I wear it. I really like the scent; however, in all honesty, it's a very masculine scent. It wouldn't be a very appropriate/attractive cologne on a weaker/smaller body. If you do want to get it, I recommend the Parfume as it's stronger with more longevity; plus, you don't have to put on very much! One spray is plenty!

  • @xheartshapebox mate get this cos your college friends will all smell of typical aquatics and you will stands out. and it is in my opinion suitable but just one spary for now no more

  • thanks katie ! :)

  • @andrewlwood Thanks! And I'm sure you smell great now.

  • it just got gooder! my T D'H Parfum is coming this Monday! yipee!

  • @ironchopsticks Hurrah!

  • very affluent with words/imagination that i can almost smell (in 3D) the way you smell it. olfactorily exceptional! thanks for including men fragrance to your "smell" !!

  • @slick1785 Thanks indeed for your 3D compliment!

  • I bought it for my husband and I think is just wonderful. My husband likes it to.

  • @letty3476 That's good to hear!

  • Katie :)

You are talented in making a video review very entertaining. I have to admit that your video was very professionally shot with wonderful scripts.

You are more like a professional actress. You have a great sense of humour too.

By the way, your outfits are very elegant and polite too even though it is quite sexy :P

Please keep it up. I'll try to check your videos if you have more men fragrances.

    Cheers,

  • @milkykungnaja Thanks so much! Check my "Masculine Fragrances" playlist for more guy scents.

  • oh oh oh, you are reviewing what i am wearing, i agree 100% but i think thw odt is better for silliage and is brighter, the parrfum is marginally greener to my nose, maybe more vetiver. BTW katie i just resubbed, deleted my old account a while back, i was TheDukeOfQueens remember me?

  • @NebulousWhisp Oh, good to hear from you. Thought of you and your nag champa love, because I found another great nag champa fragrance that I'm wearing non-stop.

It's by Parfumerie Generale, and it's called Intrigant Patchouli. I discuss it in my Perfume Collection: Part 3 video.

  • Love your humor, Wonderful description, too.

  • Thanks, Lady B!

  • Hi Katie, really like your poetical style fragrance reviews. I'm curious what's your major in college? Literature or something else?

  • Ha-ha - school of life, baby. No college for me.

  • She finally sold her soul to the devil

  • I love Terre d'Hermès. I need to get a hold of the Parfum. And FYI Katie you're fuckin gorgeous.

  • she's cute but she's weird and she smells.

  • When I listen to you, it makes me want to cuddle up in bed like a little boy, so you can read me a bedtime story.

Your voice is like music to my ears.

  • Wow!

  • I think ill go out on a limb and be just a tad more manly. Terre d'hermes ROCKS. Simply rocks. and your review is spectacular. The last thing Id do is fall asleep listening to you.

  • I'm sure everyone tells you how subtle and wonderful your reviews are. Actually it's more poetry than a review =)

I wear Terre d'Hermès almost every day and it's one of the view scents that overwhelm me, even after a long time.

Please keep the poetry coming ;)

    Love from Germany.

  • What a wonderful compliment!

  • - Katie, Can you review some frags from the Private Blend range by Tom Ford?

  • Okay. Do you have a preference?

  • - I'm really liking Noir de Noir! But I'd love to hear what you think about Tobacco Vanille!

  • Hermes just gets it right over and over again, I think. I have a lot of their scents for women, but the way you talk about the parfum concentration of this scent makes me think that I want it, as well, for my greedy self. Thanks for reviewing - I'm not sure I would have known that they had something new otherwise.

  • Just keepin' the greediness alive!

  • i love your videos but could you tell us if the perfume is for men or women?

  • If the perfume is marketed to men, I'll mention in th vid that's it's "for men".

But I believe that fragrance does not have a gender, and that people should wear whatever makes them smell they way they want to.

Many of the indie fragrances I review are considered "shared" or unisex, anyway.

But to add a little clarity, I do have playlists broken down into "masculine" and "feminine" scents.

Terre d'Hermès is marketed to men.

  • I'm not a fragrance person, tbh i'm quite ignorant about smells in general, but your reviews are so entertaining that I can't help watch them all. :3

  • That makes me really happy to hear! Thanks.

  • you look SMASHING!!! and your pronunciation of "terre" about one third in, is perfect!!! the whole thing seems more and more fabulous. and you.

  • Thank YOU, Sissy! I'm so touched you're following my capers. The support means so much!

  • A twinkling of the eyes or tilt of the head signals that Katie is about to launch a shaft of wit. Don't miss it!

  • A great review and even though I don't particularly like this scent, you make me want to like. Actually, you make me want to LOVE it. Oh yeah, Baby.

  • Now that's a silver tongue!

  • A silver tongue is better than a brown nose although I bet the Plymouthian Phantom Bum-Sniffer would beg to differ! ;)

  • yessssssssss amazing

  • Last night, I was digging through my mom's stuff and found treasure! I found an old bottle of Guerlain Samsara, in a beautiful meteorites dispenser. It's lovely, reminded me of No.5 a lil but less powdery and more spicy. I woke up this morning to a waft of it coming from my cleavage. Why am I so enamored with old lady perfumes? PS Katie, my mom says is about a decade old, so am I smelling sth else or is the edp still good?

  • lilacfunk - if the Samsara still smells good, it means your mom stored it correctly: out of heat and light. And if groovy youthful you loves it, how can it be an "old lady" perfume? Samsara is a big jasmine & sandalwood production, and that spicy, sensual drydown is a winner, I think!

  • This is one of my favorites from the house of Hermes. I am glad to know it is now available in an edp. There are so few edp's for men in the USA. I think it is because most American men are afraid of fragrance so European companies don't send them over here.

  • Just got back from London where there were so many more iterations of popular perfumes (ie Chanel Chance and Coco Mademoiselle in pure parfume; the Prada single note parfum range that includes Benzoin and Opponax) - not fair that we don't get them over in the US!

  • Don't even get me started! We are trying to plan a trip to London and September. I hope it works out.

  • Oh, the weather will be lovely then - unlike January when I went! Your head (and nose) will be spinning - between Les Senteurs, Liberty's, Selfridge's and Harrod's, London is a perfume paradise!

  • I just bought it! It smell so awesome! I feel like I need to wear orange everytime I wear it.. I love it though , sometimes I smell menthol, is that normal? or I just oversprayed ! anyways I love your comments and I wish you have some more. I have French and Italian cologne mostly , I mean designer houses, do you have any recommendation for American based men cologne , Thanks

  • Re the menthol, you probably just went crazy-ape when first applying, and the top notes just kind of...accumulated.

I always recommend Tom Ford for Men Extreme - I love the rich leathery fullness of that one. Another American line is Bond No. 9 - their New Haalem is a great coffee/cedarwood/vanilla gourmand. And you could try Cannabis Rose by Fresh.

  • Ah Katie another colorful review. You and your nose are simply the cat's meow!!!

  • I love this perfume! It's one of the few ones that my dad actually asked me to re-purchase. He, just like me, normally prefers changing perfume quite often...

    I LOOOVE IT

  • rawrrrrrr!

    love your review!

  • This was too amusing Mrs. P! I didn't love the EDT version, but I will have to check out the Parfum version.

  • Thanks indeedy, Mr. MPC! Even if the scent isn't your cup of Tang, I find it's always interesting to check out the different concentrations, because they can be quite different.

For instance, I just smelled Burberry The Beat Elixir parfum, and it's positively masculine: more dry and sober than the edp. Men should know about this one! (In fact, The Beat edp would work fine on guys, too.)

  • you are sooo funny!

  • What a rare talent you have Katie. You've inspired me to try to branch away from the Chanel Chance and so I've gotten a few perfume samples. When I spritzed de Lolita Lempicka fleur de Corail all I can compare it to is Avon's Skin So Soft, that I used as a child as a mosquito repellent. Thanks again for the great vid!

  • Love your reveiws so funny! could you do a review on some Paris Hilton, or Givenchy. i'd love to hear those reviews!

  • Yay! a new review! may we hope for some Prada reviews this year? I would love to hear your thoughts on Infusion of Iris and L'eau Ambree!

  • You are so funny and just love the words you use to describe a new product.

  • you look nice.

    i love effervessence....

    especially in my alka seltzer.

  • Finally a Good Perfume for Men!!!

Thax Katie for the Review & Happy New Year!

  • Yay! a new video! I missed you :)

  • I'm always so happy to see when you've posted a new vid and stop EVERYTHING to dash off and watch it knowing that it'll be the best 2-3 minutes of my day! You didn't disappoint either.

Here's do hoping that you and your family had a wonderful holiday season and have the best and brightest new year ever!

    Shannon

  • Aw, Shannon, what a lovely compliment - thanks!

  • Happy New Year Katie Puckrick, you "rocher"

  • HNY, KK!

  • haha nice review :)

  • Haha loved the review.

will try it next time im shopping

    might get it

  • Thanks Nico!

  • The scary thing is if I didn't already know who you were I'd now be trying to decide if you were serious or not....

  • I could listen to you for hours!!! You are so funny :)

  • Thank-you, VLovesD!

  • I bought it for my husband at the airport duty free store. It is incredible and I love it.

  • Ooh, lucky husb!

  • I tried it . It smelled like 2 day old orange that is smashed in your armpit in a good way. Do you know where can I get it online or do I have to buy it at Hermes website. Ow and I know you haven't made a review of Jean Paul Gaultier La Fleur du Male, any thoughts with that cologne?

  • "clean w/out being soapy", you always crack me up

  • RAWR! That was funny! lol! Love your vids!

  • Thanks for watching and chuckling.

  • @MACwishin2 Haha - thanks!

  • Very Nice!!

  • I have this and its gotten me sooo many compliments from both genders... i love it.

  • haha, this is my male bff's fragrance.

i feel like sniffing him now, just bc you reminded me how much i ADORE this fragrance.

  • @accordingtosam I love how just thinking of a scent can conjure up a beloved friend. Like magic!

  • I love the EdT version of this frag. My hubby and I fight over our little ole sample. Haven't smelled the parfum version yet but perhaps it's time for a big bottle :). Thanks Katie!!

  • @matildajr Heh! Sample battles.

  • Strong, warm and sweet...sounds like my kinda man. I need to date the man who would buy this cologne! Thanks, Katie...as always WONDERFUL review. :)

  • @MACTackleBox You're indeed welcome!
