From experience grower, light color does not do shit. Watts and lumens matter. Watts cause heat but u need more watts to produce more lumens,... Flowering begins when summer days are long. More light longer time. Stopping the light completly for a day can help cause some reaction. Then light for 14 hours.

Less red resulst in streching, Just the same reason you see tress will be far taller planted besdie eachother competeing for light. ts all chemical signals . availbality of resource results in how your plant will grow and produce. i guess it in all is a balance.

@deathproof187 Preflowers can occur from different starins showing one flower here and there between nodes this is usually befor being submitted to a flowering light schedule. And sometimes not show any signs untill that schedule is kept for about 5 to 7 days. I ahve never had seen a male plant in person and have no idea what signs have or would appear. @9999fenix I had cut those when i was rooting it from a clipping i had taken from the larger plant/ I believe that cuttings the ends stops the growth of the leafs and in tunr could speed up rooting. and new growth (on the topside,) Its only one of the few things i do to root clippings. humidty dome and root gel , and are they are clipped and geled just befor the dark cycle is said to help alwel i extend the darkness into a whole extra day(Reset i call it lmao.) I started mine to early again just rule of most guides 4th node, or signs of maturity. id go with maturity myself next time. unless its a clone id give it the forth node rule. lol iam making this to complicated i think lol

Right now I got 3 different strains growing in on comtainer hydroponically, I got them under one flourescent light and 2 of them are clones, the one clone is BC Kush, like honestly I thought she wouldnt survive on the the amount of stress shes been through. Shes about a half a foot now and very healthy, I had her in soil for a bout a month before I transplanted her into the hydro container I made and shes doin good. I got Northern Lights #5 started from a seed and cloned female a Kushberry.

this technique is intimidating b/c of that instinct to nuture ur plant ( it looks like ur gonna F it up when you bend them like that) but it looks really effective. i'm gonna give it a try on one of my new ones coming up.

It is really effective.. Your yield will almost double. It works great with CFLs because all of the little tops reach to the top giving you all colas. None of the little buds. But you can also do it with out topping the plant. To achieve 1 massive cola and a whole lot of mini colas. It reduces the stress when you don't top it. Letting your plants still grow at normal pace. When topping the plat is stunted for about a week or so. But just bending does the same thing with out stunting...

You didn't understand what I meant. Your plants were small. The shoots really were not shooting out when you started bending the plants. I had noticed when I did it to early nothing happened. Then I tried to much and the plants stunted in growth. I waited until they got bigger and looked more mature and tried it again. It worked great. Now I do it once a week. Will continue to bend over until 8 weeks. I don't know what strain you have but looks more indica then sativa.

Thanks, yea, I have about 1 oz of bud now. It actually resembles a really nice crystally indoor sized plant. about 4-5ft tall. Same here every node or (colla?) basically every branch has budz/Hairs all up and down it. Probally a quarter oz on each branch. But I dont really know till its dried and weighed. The hairs and all not cured is kinda a guesstemet. Its a guesse. But it looks beutifull for my first grow.

the purple is normal ive had thousands of plants like that just simple genetics. to get your plans main stem to thicken and become strong try heavy misting on plants or a simple fan will work or just a HID light like a 400-1000w

the thickness of a plant is varied by 2 things indoors and generaly all my indoor are thicker than my outdoor, the wind and how close your light is, if you have a fan always on your plants and you keep your lights as close as possible you will have nice thick stems

LIke the fan creates stress that moreless forces to plant to adapt. So iam trying LST currently and see what effect it has on stems and there strength. As for your indoor plants having bigger stem i doubt that highly.

there is a trick to it though if you have a reflective material it reflects the light to the stems better then the light so thats a big factor in getting thick stems, also could be damaged roots but most of the time its just lighting ventalation and watering amount which heavily influence the growth

I have heard of it sometimes causing a female to turn hermie. Its highly unlikly becasue there are many other factors in play that can stress your plants. My own opinon is that it can be done as many times as long as you leave enuf time for the plant to regen. maybe week and a half. between topping, another really great way to produce more shoots is Low stress traingin ,(Simply tie your plant down.) keep in mind, stress and current health of your plant. From my experience, the environment is what creates thick stems. Using the same genetics, i get stems 3-4 times as thick on the plants that are grown outside as opposed to the ones i grow indoors. The inside environment is just a very easy place for the plants to live so they don't put energy into growing thick stems. You can try to simulate wind with a fan but nothing compares to regular 20-30 mph winds outdoors that effects the whole plant. Bigger pots indoors does allow the stems to thicken.

I used a humidity dome, and peatmoss pucks, (Try peat moss first becsaue i believe you dont have to add nutes to the water just simple that way.) and well make sure you clear the dome with fresh air at least 3 times daily. Spray the inside of the dome to keep up the humidity, Another tip is to leave your clones in 24 hour darkness befor exposing to light (Dont need anything stronger then a cfl on them and not to close either.) With these things in mind and maybe 6 $ out of your pocket your set.
