It's too bad because the actual premise of the movie is solid. The performances are what really messed it up. Rocky's kid was a pretty terrible actor. GW Duke was such a cartoon character - having a scummy promoter stirring the pot is fine, but having him be a blatant Don King clone was a terrible decision. Just have him be a scummy promoter, that's enough. Stallone never said he "wished he never made it" but he did say he didn't want it to end like that.

there are great emotional scenes in this film actully, where rocky says he has to fight ,adrian says will he see a doctor for her.. etc and him telling his son he will get it all back during the auction.. and then there is the mickey scene ,and tommy gun selling him out and telling rocky that he beat his fighters with heart not muscle.. its a great film espiacially if you see the directors cut.. from the guyt who made the first film
