There was another victim that had the same description of the killers hair color-a sillouette figure of a short-5'8'' man with curley light brown to blond hair.
Also, they said that he left a clue via a shoeprint at the third murder, which were only available to those with access to some form of military barracks, which would explain the zodiac's precision with his weapons and forms of killing. Im sure they could cross-reference the killings with a retired-soldier or soldier who was recently discharged and observe whether they were mentally unstable or check their shot patterns when in training to discover the killer...

I heard & read this same thing, and thougt the same thing-that they could start with cheking out who was recently discharged, or he could have been still enlisted, but off duty! But u know how the police wants to solve a case the quickest and CHEAPEST was by blaming the first thing they run into, as far as reasoning, evidence, etc. Good observation.

I truely beleive Richard Gaikowski is the Zodial killer. I have had the chance to view the original police report of one of the surviving victims, & he discribes the killer as a silouette from the darkness of night, but could C his hair color-light brown to almost blond, & stated that it was curley. Another surviving vic. describes him the same way.
@charlene12341234 if that's the case, then why didn't the police announce this to the public? I believe they have pritty much dis-proved that Galkowski was the Zodiac. And at this point, the only they there going to prove who he was, is by he or a member of his family (or friends) coming forward and proving with physical evidence. @spactick -there are too many similar descriptions of Gaikowski to dismiss him as a suspect. The police may not want to acknowledge this theory because they did not think of it! Sometimes when the police don't think of things FIRST, they dismiss someone else coming up with the discovery. @charlene12341234 There is a lot more unreleased info. In N California at that time I was a teen. We had atleast 4 prolific serial killers and a couple of police impersonaters. One killer dubbed "the hitchhiker murderer" or highway101 killer was responsible for atleast several all over Sonoma co and further north. Manson family, Ted Bundy who lived near Russian River not 15 miles from where several abduction murders happened. Unlike Zodiac, this man never said a word and was never caught.

I meant to mention, they tried to tie those Santa Rosa murders of the young teen girls to Bundy, the Zodiac and the Mansons because of crime scene evidence. Those 1st two girls were abducted 2 blocks from my house when I was 14 yrs old. They found those 2 girls later along with a 3rd just 3 or 4 miles away on private land. The land owner, Deborah has a website with details, she has been hunting him ever since

Bundy was living in or around the Russian River area during some of these but denied those while taking responsibility for his own. The Berryessa murders were just up the road, everyone who lived around those parts knew these areas for camping, fishing etc.

I was approached along with a friend of mine by a police impersonater when I was a kid during those same days, early 70's and I wonder about that.
The Santa Rosa link is just that all of these murderers were around at that time but the SR ones have far less clues than even the Z left. Sonoma Co thought it was him...

Yes a police impersonater tried to pick up my friend and I, I told Deborah about this and she was surprised and sent my letter to the SR Sheriff which they replied... "YEP", we will want to contact him. My letter was more in the form of a question more than a story.. I asked Deborah, could this have been a cop or impersonater because.. then told my story. Thats been several month's back now which is why I just wrote Deborah recently.

I lived right in his circle of terror in those days.. my dad lived across the street from Arthur Leigh Allen in Santa Rosa I just found out recently.. not a 2 minute walk from his front door and where I used to play as a kid. There were other murders there called the Hitchiker killings and Arthur's home was right in the center of that circle of dead bodies (Along with my dads place, shudder).

In the end, catching these sickos and trying to understand their pyschologies affected them badly. The FBI profilers went on to found the Academy Group Inc., that trains law enforcemrnt officers in profiling. I hope to take a couple of their courses in 2012.

It only makes sense. The most tell-tale event was after Stein was killed in his cab. The Zodiac walked right past the two cops sent to the scene, and they miraculously didn't question him? Andy Walker fits the pyshical description of Mike Mageau and Darlene Ferrin's assailant. He was unemployed during the times of each known Z attack and recieved cyrptology training in the military. And to add..he was a reported stalker in the Vacaville area. His car is similiar to the description given by Linda who seen a man sitting in it in early 1969.

I don't know if this was ever discussed by anyone,but I think it is worth the discussion.
Allen's trailer was located 8-10 miles from where the Santa Rosa victims were found which gave Allen time on Friday,Saturday,Tuesday,Thursday,Friday and Saturday once again in that order to the times when the hitchhiking victims were missing.
Arthur Leigh Allen may of been a Zodiac copycat because Zodiac's pattern was never to transport victims such as in Santa Rosa; rape was never a factor for Mr. Zodiac. Allen lived within 8-10 miles from where the hitchhiking victims were found; Allen admitted to det. George Bawart that he was thrilled sexually when hearing children screaming from spanking. Allen was a sex deviant; this is not a Zodiac trait.
That is what I concluded after studying the Zodiac years ago.
No semen,no male pubic hair, except for chipmunk fibers found on parts of the bodies. Allen owned chipmunks only for the use of dissecting them for animal biology at Sonoma State University.
Except they both were tied only around the wrists and ankles.
At rural Sonoma,the coeds/hitchhikers were literally gagged and suffocated with a clothesline which made me think this was a sexaul sadist trademark. Allen was a sadist. Two of the Santa Rosa victims were found in a "spread-eagled" position as though they were raped. No rape was ever produced.
In the Santa Rosa murders 1972-1973,keep in mind a 1/4" clothesline was used to strangle four victims. The killer hogtied them bounded by both ankles and wrists,then,figuretively bound another piece of chord from the tied area to the neck. Remember the Lake B murders of how Z hogtied

Now if only the reactive SFPD and Santa Rosa PD can be granted a search warrant on 2963 Santa Rosa Avenue,Space A-7..they may be able to find Paul Stine's bloody shirt along with his keys and wallet,only will there be a clear knowledge of whom the Zodiac is.

I have had the chance to view the original police report of one of the surviving victims, & he discribes the killer as a silouette from the darkness of night, but could C his hair color-light brown to almost blond, & stated that it was curley. Another surviving vic. describes him the same way.

And at this point, the only they there going to prove who he was, is by he or a member of his family (or friends) coming forward and proving with physical evidence. @spactick -there are too many similar descriptions of Gaikowski to dismiss him as a suspect. The police may not want to acknowledge this theory because they did not think of it! Sometimes when the police don't think of things FIRST, they dismiss someone else coming up with the discovery. Sometimes police want to take credit for finding it FIRST! this sounds ridiculous, but true.

@charlene12341234 There is a lot more unreleased info. In N California at that time I was a teen. We had atleast 4 prolific serial killers and a couple of police impersonaters. One killer dubbed "the hitchhiker murderer" or highway101 killer was responsible for atleast several all over Sonoma co and further north. Manson family, Ted Bundy who lived near Russian River not 15 miles from where several abduction murders happened. Unlike Zodiac, this man never said a word and was never caught.

I meant to mention, they tried to tie those Santa Rosa murders of the young teen girls to Bundy, the Zodiac and the Mansons because of crime scene evidence. Those 1st two girls were abducted 2 blocks from my house when I was 14 yrs old. They found those 2 girls later along with a 3rd just 3 or 4 miles away on private land. Bundy was living in or around the Russian River area during some of these but denied those while taking responsibility for his own. The Berryessa murders were just up the road, everyone who lived around those parts knew these areas for camping, fishing etc.
and indeed, some of the Manson members were also known to be in the area. Its crazy since they tried interconnecting several of these crimes with Z or Bundy to no avail

I was approached along with a friend of mine by a police impersonater when I was a kid during those same days, early 70's and I wonder about that.
The Santa Rosa link is just that all of these murderers were around at that time but the SR ones have far less clues than even the Z left. Sonoma Co thought it was him...

Yes a police impersonater tried to pick up my friend and I, I told Deborah about this and she was surprised and sent my letter to the SR Sheriff which they replied... "YEP", we will want to contact him. My letter was more in the form of a question more than a story.. I asked Deborah, could this have been a cop or impersonater because.. then told my story. Thats been several month's back now which is why I just wrote Deborah recently.

I lived right in his circle of terror in those days.. my dad lived across the street from Arthur Leigh Allen in Santa Rosa I just found out recently.. not a 2 minute walk from his front door and where I used to play as a kid. There were other murders there called the Hitchiker killings and Arthur's home was right in the center of that circle of dead bodies (Along with my dads place, shudder).

It only makes sense. The most tell-tale event was after Stein was killed in his cab. The Zodiac walked right past the two cops sent to the scene, and they miraculously didn't question him? Did they know him from another law enforcement agency? There's too many holes left wide open. I don't believe the police would have been that inept.

Andy Walker fits the pyshical description of Mike Mageau and Darlene Ferrin's assailant. He was unemployed during the times of each known Z attack and recieved cyrptology training in the military. And to add..he was a reported stalker in the Vacaville area. His car is similiar to the description given by Linda who seen a man sitting in it in early 1969.

Just one final note.
The horn-rimmed glasses that Zodiac worn at the Presidio Heights on 10/11/69,I think was stolen from Paul Stine; Stine worn these type of glasses. Serial killing profile has been known for the assailant to keep personal items from thier victims. Zodiac snatched away a portion of Paul Stine's bloody shirt,wallet,keys and his glasses was missing. I don't know if this was ever discussed by anyone,but I think it is worth the discussion.

it also could have been ALA becoz after he died no more phone calls and letters were recieved ever.and when he was in jail for 2 years no letters or phone calls were recieved, and when he was released they began again. and when the police began questioning him the letter and calls stopped cause he was afraid that they were on his tail.

Maybe and just maybe the ''Zodiac'' was SO smart he had a way and plan of turning the attention on ALA and other suspects and making police thinking it was them. He probly knew when ALA was in jail and when the cops were after him and when he died, so everything he did was based on ALA so it made it look as if ALA was the one.

Zodiac could have been a guy from the police , with military experience , quite clearly he had to have been with the military coz police have found that at the scene of the lake murder, a footprint in sand of military boots which could only be purchased by people who were in the army and at special locations.

Now if only the reactive SFPD and Santa Rosa PD can be granted a search warrant on 2963 Santa Rosa Avenue,Space A-7..they may be able to find Paul Stine's bloody shirt along with his keys and wallet,only will there be a clear knowledge of whom the Zodiac is.
