  • great explanations!

    Thanks

  • SAHN-KAH-KOO JEE-MAE, For the love of corn! It's not San cockoo Jimy!

  • @skrimpshidy you right men, jesus this guy hi does not how to spell correctly! SANKAKU JIME! done

    people learn some japanese!

  • you have to pinch your knees!!don't squeeze!!

  • remember that this is a "slow choke" to ;) it usually takes time before he taps. You should never squeze to hard :P sooner or later he taps you don't have to pull his head really

  • @takidabossen wrong this is not a slow choke.....whens its locked in and u apply the choke its one of the fastest ways to get him to tap.

  • @TheDhaliwal604 It is a slow choke! there are two kind of chokes in generally Slow chokes and fast chokes! It doens't matter if he taps directley! it can still be a slow choke! but if you choke to hard on a slow choke it can be very dangerous....with a slow choke you don't need to squeze so hard. But if you apply the triangle choke or "sankaku" it will surley make him tap but there are many other chokes, wich will make him tap faster!

  • wonderful demonstration.

  • good tips, nicely done lads....post some more

  • This choke is a nasty surprise for someone who has no experience in ground fighting.

  • hello, just wanna ask if your judo is kodokan or kosen, and are all bjj submissions taught on judo.

    i can't afford bjj classes............

  • @darksharingan723 Hi pal, Kosen Judo is different from Judo Kodokan, Kosen Judo in pure Newaza... the old Fusen Ryu. kosen judo in part of judo kodokan, back in japan, they say want learn grownd fighting, go to kosen judo schools, want learn stand up fighting, go to the judo kodokan.

  • @Samboussr Kosen Judo isn't "pure newaza" -- they're also skilled at atemi waza. Kosen Judo has every single technique of Kodokan Judo. The difference is that in Kosen Tournaments, they have unlimited time on the ground. Kano specifically gave the Kosen Schools permission to continue their newaza focus because he wanted ground specialists. But he also wanted Kodokan Judo to highlight atemi waza.

  • @BloodofPatriots Let me tell you something young men, I´ve been training Different style of Budo inclusive Kosen Judo since 1980 before your time, dont waist your time in explaining about it the different between style. My former Sensei was Hirata Kanae back then.

  • @Samboussr Then you should know that there are no differences in the techniques between Kodokan Judo and "Kosen" Judo, only in their emphasis, as well as the history behind why there is that difference in emphasis. 2011 is the 100th anniversary of Oda-sensei being awarded his black belt by Kano himself, as well as Kano's blessing for Oda to perfect Judo newaza. By the way, an ignorant ass is still an ignorant ass, whether the hair on your ass has turned gray or not, old man.

  • @BloodofPatriots Nice answer, understand her BOY, the only ignorant and imbecil its you yankee, dont flat your self, with a lots of stupid comment, by the way I have no single white hair, but I must say, you are one imbecil individual. tell your fair tail for for some body ignorant like you.

  • @Samboussr Awww, look, you're gumpy because you now have sand in your vagina. What's with wanted to see everyone as a child? Are you some kind of child molester? Go ahead and have a good cry, you stupid pedophile, and be sure to register at the police station nearest your trailer park -- you don't want to violate the terms of your parole!

  • @BloodofPatriots Little stupid ignorant BOY! I must say you are one imbecil individual, it seems that you have been in prison right, talk a lot of police jail and other rabbish nonsense. feel sorry for you ignorant, you dont no nothing about martial arts you moron!

  • @Samboussr You need to work on your grammar, Sandy. "Imbecil" and "individual" are both nouns, so your use of them together proves you an illiterate moron (See, I used "illiterate" as an adjective to modify the noun "moron."). To use them correctly, you could stand in front of a mirror, point at yourself, and then say, "You are one imbecilic individual." You see the difference? Imbecilic is an adjective and is correctly used to modify a noun. Now go register with the police, pedophile.

  • @Samboussr Go douche the sand out of your vagina, pussy, and stop posting crap to my profile page. It's just creepy. You know "creepy," don't you? Its how those young children feel when you follow them home from their bus stop after school, bitch.

  • Why does he pronounce it as Jimi?

    It's Jime

e in romaji is the same e sound used in "egg"

    Jime sounds like "G MEH"

Good technique though, I like this.

  • its not a fucking choke its a strangle

  • This was supposed to be a bjj move, not a judo move. I can remember clearly that the Gracies said in a video that this was a move created by Helio Gracie.

  • @Tech5420 I'm a BJJ practioner but I can tell that 99% (if not 100%) of all BJJ techniques already existed in judo prior to WWII. Nowadays most judo schools are focused on throws and getting a ippon to the detriment of ground techniques. Believe me, the Gracie didn't invent anything. They just popularized old Judo techniques with a few variations.

  • @Tech5420 If he said, he just lied, cause they invented this move at Kodokan.

  • just remember, in a judo tourny u CANNOT grab the head and pull it down- its illegal, but you can still lift ur hips

  • just like to point out, its sanGaku jime, not sanKaku ;)

  • @rhynoserus thats what i thought too but sanGAKU, is wen its opposite, wen the choker is on top with his rear in uke's face, so the triangle choke with the body positioning of kami-shio-gatame OR when they are both lieing down andthe choker is on uke's side, sanKAKU, is the one demonstrated above with the choker being in guard

  • @MrChickenFajita Who told you that? I think you've been mislead. Sangaku/sankaku simply means triangle. Either pronunciation is fine.

  • Of course because Judo is derived from Jiu Jitsu so many techniques are very similar.

  • Yeah beautiful choke always works for me and if it doesnt want to make them tap i just move a little in an Armbar from the same position..

Whats up with the Red Belt?

  • Is the triangle used in traditional judo?

  • @unwawbl absolutely. I haven't seen a judo book that hasn't shown the triangle choke, including ones written before WW2, even around the turn of the century.

  • Excellent and clear demonstration. Thanks!

  • easy to undersatand ty make other vids!!

  • very good detailed video and easy to understand

  • Very nice explanation! thanx for posting....my issue is I have short legs and I can't seem to get sankakyu to work very well....any tips?

  • Sweet i was whiping out T chokes all over the shop in grapling today but could get it tight.

Iam failing on the hip part

So where ever side i put my leg over his head first il switch to the same side with my hips right ?

  • excelent video great details and everything

  • very good educational vid.

    thanx 4 posting

  • nice

  • im not comfortable on my back ive only won my local state tournaments by pins and chokes that arent in the half guard but i need to improve my standing up shit i forget what its called something waza but thanks for the demo

  • tewaza

  • te waza are hand techniques

  • Tachi waza

  • Thank you !!... now I understand how work...

  • in the first strangle you should have one hand on the inside of his leg for control durring demo's.

  • I think you need to clear up your definitions a little...

A choke is pressure on the windpipe causing restricted breathing.

A strangle is pressure on the Carotid artery restricting blood to the brain.

Choking is strictly illegal in modern competition! Just my 2c... Nice vids though :-)

  • I thought that sankaku was a pin that used the triangle, not just a choke.

  • I thought that you couldn't put pressure on the head too, as you apply sankaku jime. I found more success by squeezing my knees together.

  • you're right with both ideas. It's illegal now in Judo tournaments with the new rules to pull the head, alternatively, i pull the arm just for stability. Also, when applying sankaku, instead of flexing the thigh muscles, kano original taught the legs to work similar to percussion cymbals, simply bringing the knees together will choke the uki out.

  • I thought you can put pressure on the head if it only with the back of your hand???

  • in competition its not allowed to pull the head down... :D

  • But there aren't rules in a real fight.

  • I have asked Sensei Goltz COO USJA 7th Dan. This is his respond: "You can guide the head by pressing on the top side or back but you can't put pressure on the neck and never in the face." Thank you for your attention to details Mr Pedram. As you can see Nicholas is clearly not pulling on the neck. Thanks for watching our videos. We will have more videos posted in weeks to come. :) Tirdad

  • hmmm, So far as I know, you can hold it maximum 3 seconds and than switch over to his kimono...

But ok sensei Goltz has probably more experience

And keep on making videos, good for watching details.

  • From what I know if it not a neck crank it is okay. A lot of it depends on the ref. If you have it sunk in good you wont need to pull the head down.

  • although you could grab the collar behind his neck and would likely get the same result. just need to find it underneath your leg :(

  • @pedrameke in some matches it is allowed in others not I am an mma fighter and it's allowed in mma
