I was lucky to see this, I was in Siem Reap to visit Angkor Wat and instead of waiting for the taxi or bus to show up we decided to take a ferry down to Phnom Penh and seen these wonderful floating villages and huge bamboo traps on the riverbanks and small long islands as gardens...I really enjoyed that moment after Angkor wat..it was very exciting. Nice video have many myself but dont know where to start to make a video..lol keep up the good work.
@tnaktnom Hey Glad you enjoyed it. And very well done with your accent identification, eh! I'm originally from central Canada, but have been in Japan for the last ten years.
Thank you for sharing and it is nice to know that someone who is from Nagoya went to see my country. This is new to me that there is a floating village that i did not know of it before. My son went to Nagoya twice last year and he likes your country very much. I just hope you like my country, too.
very good video i have spent a lot of time in cambodia and the floating village the only fact that is wrong is the vietnamese came into cambodia 1969 not 1979 .
Cambodia has so much uniqueness that no where else in the world has and the beaches so warm and beautiful and virtually no one there unspoiled and uncrowded. Be careful around markets with glass pop bottles stacked on top of each other in the front of everything else in store it's probably gasoline yes gas in pop bottles for motor bikes that's a Cambodian gad station

Wow living on the lake looks like fun...so laid back. I know that life there are tough but the idea of idleness and carelessness sounds tempting right now.
All videos about Cambodia very nice. I was there 1 year and 3 months ago and after visit I like this kingdom-I've only good memories. I ready say "I LOVE CAMBODIA" and one girl which I met. First what I do when I'll have long holiday-come back there...
I don't know why, but seeing the kids run out to wave reminded me of how my kids did the same when the street sweeper went by - not that you are a street sweeper!!
Apparently they came up the river when the Viet Namese liberated the country from the Khmer Rouge, and then just kind of lived separate lives on the edge of the lake. but now they are needing in integrate into society.
Right, I think they need too. I can't believe that you live in a country for at lease more than a decade and still don't speak the language, imagine that?
@shitnamese401 No, they 're doing this for a purpose and they don't want or plan to learn Khmer...Cuz they re planing to spread Vietnamese all over Cambodia and conquer.....they've used their people to conquer Champa (central Vietnam) Khmer Krom (South Vietnam)...their culture and language is strong if they live together and pass on to their children, it's about the weak and strong society
@nmsamnang Vietnam population as of 2011 is over 90 million. Cambodia population as of 2011 4 million! Vietnam is one of the densely populated country in the world! Where would all these viets go where there is no more land! Cambodia is right next door!
we are so preoccupied with our lifes. we dont realize all billions of people in billion different conditions of life. We all need to get out of shells that we live in.
That type of hospitality can only come from a place unspoiled by modern day annoyances. If you ever are looking for a book to read, you should try Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson. He writes about helping children and building schools in remote regions of the world, most notably Pakistan and Afghanistan, but he writes about the unparalleled hospitality and welcome that these people give.
I think you've shown that this holds true. What a beautiful area.
Viets used this tactic to conqer Cambodia,

Really exotic place. People there seems happy. I'm wondering why the Vietnamese that live there don't speak Cambodians, though.

I may be wrong, but I believe Vietnam's population per square unit is much greater than Cambodia's.
