  • Im Eleven Now But I Was 10 When I Was Roaming The Library...I Was An Accelerated Reader And I Still Am. I Read This Book And It Was The Best Book I Have Ever Read.No Words Can Describe This Book. One Way Its Haunting And Terrifying. In Another, It Is Beautiful And UnBelievable. Just Like I Said, Im 11 Now And I Am Interested In Adult Books About People's Lives. LOVE THIS BOOK!

  • Possible Stupid Question: If Living Dead Girl is banned does that mean i can't get it from the library? Were can i get if with out buying it?

    Please respond

    Thanks!

  • @popcorn1304 hey, you have to ask your librarian :)

  • I read Sold a few monthes back and was really horrified when I finished it, but really glad I read it.

  • I've read Living Dead Girl and was horrified, but it was beautifully written. It's scary to think that what happens in that book is happening around the world, but it is a fascinating read. The ending blew me away, and I really wanted "Alice" to make it through all in one piece. The book is amazing, but truly for mature readers.

  • Im 13 and in LOVE with living dead girl it was so sad but good in like a non-good way

  • <3

  • Have you read "Go Ask Alice"? I read it when I was twelve and a year later i'm still majorly aint-drug and anti-alcohol. it is EXTREMELY blunt, being an actual diary, and after i read it i was just like "-------" because i was amazed that a girl not a few years older than me could experience those hardships, and not in some fantasy world. IN REAL LIFE. it's a good book though, worth reading if you can stomach it.

  • She said Living Dead Girl is a banned book, but I just saw it at Borders Book Store yesterday.... Read through it too. Never got to read the rest of it cuz I had to go so now i'm wondering if I shoulda bought it....

  • @springbaby485 it's definitely a really sad and shocking book. I bought it, and read it like to days because you just ant to know what happens.

  • I read Sold because of you. Because of Sold I am currently supporting Love146 and spreading the word about Human Trafficking. I am working to have my school raise awareness about Human T. So thanks for the recommendation, it changed my life.

100 points for that cheesiness I just spewed right there!

  • @beyondbookworm wow, you are a really cool person. i tip my hat twords you.

  • Suck it up, Buttercup! is a Jacked up book and written by someone whose last name is Cass...no relation to Kiera though...but definitely JACKED UP!

  • is sold non-fiction?/

  • I just read Living Dead Girl. I'm 13 and I'm usually a very sensitive person but for some reason I'm not with books. It was a very good book but also very disturbing. The end confused me.

  • @NerdBerryz Jake shot Alice by accident and she died; so when she says "I am free" she means free from Ray in Heaven (or somewhere else, I don't know your religous views lol).

  • @nickeedp Okay, thanks for clearing that up lol. I'm a Christian, by the way

  • @NerdBerryz No problem, and okay, I don't feel bad now :)

  • Whens Banned book week? what books are banned?

  • if you want jacked up books, look up Lolita, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Slaughter-House Five etc.. Im sorry all these books are romance books and crap like that

  • I've read Unwind and Living Dead Girl and I'm 13.

  • I'm back lol! When I left my last comment I checked out your video again and decided to read another book from your list lol...I chose Unwind and I have to say your right that book really made me think! It was a very interesting read!

  • @ATobaccoChewingPig that was my first stephen king story to read! i also liked rage, it was from the same compilation (the bachman books)

  • @iLuvTokiDoKI great book it was kinda confusing but i was great!

  • i love the hunger games series!!!!!!!!!!!!

im gonna check out tht book!

  • Hmm im gonna have to check those books out....If anyone wants to read this book called The Forest of Hands and Teeth by Carrie Ryan its kinda a jacked up book its pg 13ish not much in it other than some action, there is a companion book called The Dead-Tossed Waves, to me it was kinda messed up but really is a good book.

  • @Mspopwar64 - I just finished reading the forest of hands and teeth. I agree it was pretty good. Not so sure if i'm wanting to read the dead tossed waves though?

  • @sarinana0309 You should if you're wondering what happens to her and to see how the story continues.

  • @Mspopwar64 i LOVE the forest of hands and teeth! have you read the companion?

  • @mewmewgirl08 Yeah i did and dang that was even more crazy than the first but definitely worth reading though just to see what happened to Mary.

  • @Mspopwar64 awesome! i have totally have to read it~! :)

  • Hope you make more book recommendation videos

  • Oh my God I read the Hunger Games!!! They rock! :D

  • HI, Check out, "Story Book Poetry By Sky Nguyen" on Amazon, Great new Action & Romance Saga, you'll love it

  • To me Breaking Dawn was a jacked up book, anywhoo, you should read Newes From The Dead and yes newes is meant to be spelled that way lol but it was so crazy, it was about this this girl who came back from the dead and man you gotta read it

  • I've read Chosen One and Living Dead Girl, and those were both so good, Chosen one I fished in a day, literally, I got it about 10:20 in the morning and finished it by 8:00 that night, I seriously was not able o put down, and Living Dead Girl I had recommended by me librarian whom I love cause she gives me good books to read and it took me about two days to read, and it was so hard on me, and I'm fifteen so in a way it was easier to get it. I recommend them both to anybody who hasn't read them.

  • I just finished a book called Identical by Ellen Hopkins. It would definately fit into this category but it might be a good read for anyone who's interested. The writing Is brilliant but it's about a girl being abused by her father so the subject matter is sometimes hard.

  • Unwind was so creepy but it reminded me so much of my faverite movie repo the genetic opera you should cheack it out some time.

  • I just finished Living Dead Girl. It is a very hard book to read. but you just cant put it down. If you can handle it it is a very good book that make you think.

  • is that a pic of robert pattinson on your fridge?

  • Guardian of the Grail

  • i guess im a gentle soul. lol i can't handle those...

  • I read Living Dead Girl and that was one of the most heartbreaking books, and it was one that just kinda stuck with you. I actually hid the book so I wouldn't see it and hopefully not think about it. It was good, but disturbing.

  • I've read "Sold" before and I'm in 6th Grade although I have an 11th grade reading level, and that book wasn't too bad to read, but it was kinda like disturbing and sad. "Unwind" is one of the books recommended to read for my grade, so it probably not TOO bad, but kinda graphic. Idk, I haven't read it yet.

  • wow...im only 14 but my teachers say i have the comprehension of a 30 yr. old..and not to mention im extremely mature for my age so i'll write these books down on my booklist..

  • same here

  • I read Living Dead Girl.

    It made me cry.

    :(

  • what is that book about? I'm ordering all of these books to read and would like to know.

  • It's about this girl who's sixteen, and when she was little she was kidnapped by a guy who like, sexually abuses her. And he won't let her go. It's sad. :(

  • ohh so kinda like Elizabeth smart?

  • Uhh, never heard of that.

    But sure. :)

  • It's a kidnap case

  • Oh, well, then yeah.

  • Unwound was one of the best books I've ever read I loved it!!!!

  • After watching this video, i ran to my mom and made sure she didnt sign any papers to chopp me up...no joke...-_-

but those books really look good. ^.^

  • Living Dead Girl is so Good.I was appalled at "Alice's" Napper. Such a sad book. It gave me nightmares too. Some of it felt so real.

  • I absolutely adored sold, I cried so hard toward the middle.

have you ever read jodi picoult? such an amazing writer. my friends and I will just sit around and talk about the outcome of the story or trial (since she writes trial books) and discuss the motives of the characters.

  • Sold was a good book it was sad though

  • I love unwind!

  • i think i'll wait for the lighter books to read

  • omg! i've read Unwind. I love that book!! Another good book that kind of fits into this list is The Compound. It's really good. :)

  • I think I'm going to order Living Dead Girl and Leftovers, thanks for doing these videos, can't wait for the next ones!

  • Leftovers and Living Dead girl intrigue me

  • Living Dead Girl was amazing! It was, like you said, pretty tough to read, but I thought it was really good. One thing that sucked about it though, was the fact that it gave me nightmares.... Other than that, though, I loved it.

  • I'm reading Unwind right now! I'm near the end and I love it so far. It definitely makes you think.

  • I think that I would enjoy reading "leftovers" and "little dead girl" they sound very deep and I like it!

  • i recommend the book.. Until they bring the streetcars back by: Stanley Gordon West. it's soooo good. i recommend it to everyone

  • *Gasp* I <3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3 Sold! Woot.

  • u didnt talk much about the living dead girl. What's it about???

  • When I saw the tittle I thought you ment like the most like messed as in like tears and rips missing pages??

Lol but some of these look great definitely gonna check some out.

  • I just read Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe in school. I really liked it! :D

  • Unwing sounds amazing...

  • ooh i'm going to be checking out these books. Books that are thought provoking and leave you thinking can be some of the best books. thanks for posting this video!

  • Books like this are always my favorite, because in my eyes, books that aren't thought provoking at all are good reads, but not good enough to stimulate my interest. Thanks so much for doing this!!!

  • sold was fantastic, i even had my mother read it.

  • I love jacked up books. XD Some of my top-shelf books are 13 Reasons Why (about a girl giving the reasons why she killed herself), and Lisa See's novels about ancient China that are both very graphic about the life of a woman in that time period (Snow Flower and the Secret Fan, and Peony in Love).

I'm going to check out all of these books because they all sound interesting! The last one, Sold, I've seen before in Target and even read a few pages of but never had a chance to buy. ^_^

  • Oh my gosh I LOVED 13 Reasons Why (: it was such an amazing book! Have you read Hold Still by Nina Lacour? If you like 13 Reasons Why, I'm pretty sure you'd like Hold Still too.

  • ^_^ It's so cool that you read it too! I actually got to talk to the author on his blog and it was awesome. I haven't read Hold Still, but I'll put it on my list! I'm getting a Nook from Barnes and Noble soon, so I'm really excited for new books to read! Woooo!

  • I've only read living dead girl it was pretty good and I've been meaning to read hold still and 13 reasons why as well

  • I love that book too !! made me cry !

  • omg i saw Leftovers in my library 2day =]

  • You looked like you were going to cry half this video....):

I like Unwind, might have to check it out.

Some of these books might not be good for me to read, because i'm the type of person who gets emotionally attached to a book. If its a sad (and good written) I get into it.

A cute teenage book you might want to try is the Gallagher Girl serise by Ally Carter. There about spys, and i think there enjoyable (:

Also, when my book comes out i think you should read it ;)

    Later,

    TRB

  • In regards to "..going to cry half this video..."

lol, well she is a pregnant lady, so hormones get all out of whack and such :P

  • CHOSEN ONE

    UNWIND

read them during the summer AMAZINNG :)

  • I think I might read Sold and The Chosen One

  • You need to read funny books, try Christopher Moore :D he's my favorite author and he writes absurdist fiction.

  • Great video, but I think I'll wait till next week:) I looked up a few of these books on amazon and think I may read Sold, it looks very insightful.

  • Living Dead Girl still holds the mark as one of the most haunting books I've read, to compare to Speak, Sold, Cut, Crank, Glass, etc.

  • What is Living Dead Girl about? I've recently been reading quite tragic novels like the ones baylee93 has read.

Funny, I'm reading Speak as a school assignment. I'm curious as to what happened.

  • I don't want to spill much about it...

It was a few months ago when I read it, but this is the basic jist of the story - a girl is kidnapped when she's in elementary school. Her kiddnapper re-names her Alice (there was a girl before her of that name), and she is now nearing puberty, the time with the other Alice was "disposed of." It focuses on her survival past that time of disposal, but the ending is not expected.

It's a very good book - very haunting. I really reccomend it.

  • ha!!!! living dead girl is a song by rob zombie. i think i'm going to look into that. how do you get a banned book???

    thank you for the video

  • being a banned book means it's not allowed on school library selves for instance, or public libraries in some areas. You could still find it in regular bookstores.

  • ah. k thanks. i kew it meant banned in schools but i didn't know if it also included book stores. thanks again

  • I gotta say, I read Unwind over my summer holiday and I could not do it. its very heavy, kind of disturbing in some parts... If you like the thriller category, maybe you'd like this one. but i didnt care for it. it was genuinely creeptastic.

  • Did you cut your hair?

It looks a little shorter, though it may just be the curls.

But, I am reading Unwind with my book club this month. I haven't started it and now... I'm not sure if I want to, lol.

We have to though, we're meeting Neal Scusterman.

Have you read Everlost by him?

It was slow in the beginning, but cute.

    Kay, done talking now. XD

    - Chris

  • i've read everlost and liked it... i'm kinda suprised to find this is the same author. interesting...

  • Yay for first view/comment! I haven't read any of these books, but if you've ever read Running With Scissors by Augusten Burroughs, it would fit in this category.

  • Niceeee lol ^^
