  • Hey I know you said any tooth paste but mine is made with "gel" oppose to the "paste" I just wondered if that would still do the trick?

I guess it won't hurt for me to try!

    Thanks for the tip :0)

  • The piece I did this on had tarnished an it wored for me. I was so happy

  • Woah! This is amazing.. worked great on my favorite ring!:D

  • I tried it an honestly it turn it even more rusty :/ glad I didn't try on my favorite jewelry :,(

  • this is AMAZING!!! worked so well!

  • Yay, it worked. I had these white plastic beads with metal stains. I soaked them in bleach scrubbed them. Nothing worked. I saw your video. I rubbed some whitening toothpaste in them, then rinsed them with warm water. The stains are gone. Thank you!

  • @Thriftyjewelrycraft Great!! I'm glad it helped!

  • Thank you so much for making this video, it helped me soooooo much!!

  • It's the baking soda in the toothpaste that cleans it. U r very kind to share your knowledge with us. TYVM

  • i thinks its because some toothpaste contains baking soda which is why it cleans so well

  • creazy

  • it didn't work!!! >:(

  • @limegreenbunny123415 was your piece of jewelry dirty or did the metal turn? If it turned, it won't work...this only works for dirty jewelry.

  • thats neat if i never saw the differnce i woulnt had believed u lol awesomeness...

  • does this work for gold earrings that have turned silver?

  • Another tip, if you paint your jewerly with clear nail polish when you first purchase it, it won't turn.

  • Thanks for the video! I have used this method for my REAL gold jewerly when I didn't have time to take it to get professionally clean. But I had no idea that it worked on fake jewerly. I keep my jewerly in a jewerly hanging bag w/plastic zippered pockets so the zippered pockets keeps them from tarnishing. But it's good to know this method works in case I ever need to clean them. Thanks again for sharing!

  • it workeed i cleaned my gold teeth like this thanks!

  • You are just amazing!!! i never thought tooth paste would work!!! wow!!!

  • thankyou so much for sharing, really appreciate it! love you

  • Thanks now my watch is clean and smells minty

  • Thanks for posting this -time for me to get to work, lol! does the water cause the metal to rust in any way?

  • @NicheDiva All the times I've used this, I've haven't had my jewelry rust.

  • u can also made a mix og industrial alcohool , soap, and toothpaste , in a small ball , put the juvs inside , over night , then take them out next day, wash them and use a old toothbrush and warm wather , then they will look like new !! i do once a week , and its working . no metter if the`re real juvs or fake .

  • Great tip! Did you know that you can keep ur fake jewelry from even getting dirty/corrored by spraying them with PLASTIC ACRYLIC SPRAY from the arts/craft or spray paint section of walmart?

Very easy to do- spray all your fake stuff BEFORE THE FIRST WEAR and it will never corrode or get dirty.

  • nice but you dont have to have the air and that stuff just say tranish

  • does it work on rusted jewlery?

  • I can't believe that toothpaste cleans fake jewelry. i never knew that , it's amazing. i think that i will try it on my mom's fake jewelry. Thanx for the awesome vid.

  • I can't believe that toothpaste cleans fake jewelry. i never knew that , it's amazing. i think that i will try it on my mom's fake jewelry. Thsnx for the awesome vid.

  • OH MY GOD IT TOTALLY WORKED!! I went and tried right after I watched this video, and it totally worked!! I had 3 bangles (in a set) that were the exact same 'metal' as the earrings you showed at the beginning-- the kind of bumpy gold-- and they look SO SO SO GOOD NOW!! I havent worn them in so long because they were all brown.. Thanks so much for posting this!!

  • @kbijelic11 so glad it worked for you! :-)

  • I DO THIS ALLLLL THE TIME!!!!!!! LOVE IT!!

  • Just cleaned my fake earrings, and my ears smell fresh and minty! lol

  • you can also use baking soda and lemon :)

  • They don't accept food stamps for gold nowa days?

  • @neonsector I don't know anything about food stamps....

  • do we have to use a type of toothpaste?

  • @aznvang17384 no...any toothpaste is fine.

  • I have been using toothpaste to clean jewelry for years ..it does not hurt it! To keep it from tarnishing keep it in little plastic bags...also when you use lotions or perfumes make sure that it's completely dry before you put on your jewelry!

  • yay awesome video, very helpful

  • i bought a fake sterling silver Pandora bracelet(supposedly to be authentic but not) i found out after i clean it.. W/lots of charms &beads well i clean it with Stanley jewelry cleaner and it tarnish.how can i get it clean again?does real sterling silver turn if u clean it with the wrong cleaner?thanks if u could help

  • Thank YOU Thank You Thank YOu! I just wish I wouldve known about this before I threw away my fav pair of "fake" gold earrings that tarnished. I just tried this technique and I am simply amazed LOL. My gold and silver jewelry are back sparkling ^_^

  • great

  • were and how do i kno if my chain is real gold or not??

  • I have a fake silver necklace and it has this sweat coloration reaction. it looks like this brownish rusty color, but isn't rust, and if you could message me, and tell me how to clean it off, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you

  • @RSkiller24 I have the very same problem with my necklace ... I think mine is metal but looks like fake silver. Either way, it has these odd pink stains that appear like rust but aren't. I don't want to damage my necklace but I want it to be shiny again. =(

If you found out how to clean it, please please tell me. :) If anybody knows, let me know.

  • if you know how to clean tarnished jewelry, please message me and tell me how. because I have a fake silver necklace that looks like it almost has a rust on it, but isn't rust. it's the sweat coloration. So if you could tell me how to clean that off with a home made remedy, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you

  • oh man..thanks for the video..this helps me out..i only wished that i saw this video because 4 days ago i was coating them with clear nail polish and that took forever..anyways thank u for sharing i rather wash with tooth paste..hehe..tc and be safe

  • im scared to try it on my necklace and to fuck it up =/

  • @h8stupidppl if it's fake, it won't harm it. If it's real I'm not sure. You can't really fuck up though.

  • love this, thank for sharing, it works very well and very fast

  • Thank you so much for this video! I went through my jewelry yesterday and was about to throw away some of my gold items because I could not find anywhere how to clean them!

  • it's the cellulose in the toothepaste that works as a natural abrasive

  • Toothpaste is a gentle polish....that's why our teeth are nice and shiny after we brush. It works wonders on stainless steel as well. :-)

  • WOW it really works!!!! thank you so much!!!

  • i am gonna go do this right now!!!

  • Darn I just threw away an amazing set(earings w/matching necklace) because it got ugly. Now I know how to clean it. Thank you so much. Wish I would have known this sooner...

  • I know you said it's "fake" gold....but does this technique work on "cheap/fake" stuff.....for example cheapie earrings that cost $2-$3 or is this for more expensive type of "fake" gold earrings like the $20 and above type? I hope this makes sense lol

  • @iloveulta2 It makes total sense. My items are pretty cheap ($10 or so). Yes they work on cheap stuff and the more expensive stuff too.

  • thanks for the tutorial! I've been throwing my fake jewelry away for years, and money with them :( but now i wont. Thanks!

  • I wish I had seen this video sooner I tossed some fake gold earrings that I loved but I thought I couldn't clean them cuz they were fake but now I know I can! Thanks

  • THANK U GEEE :D XD

  • Many thanks for sharing

  • OMG this really works it save me so much work on polishing my silver ..I thank you so much for this and the Vegetable Glycerine mix it has grown my hair so much thanks thanks thanks !!!

  • I'm so glad to hear you've had success with both of them!!! :-)

  • Wow! How did this one get past me! Very cool!

  • Wow! Awesome tutorial! Thx

  • Thank you sooo much you don't know how much jewelry I have thrown away over the years because I thought they were ruined!!!

  • i think you are nice and sweet , you took your time to make this video for some one , to help them . i dont know why some people want's to be so mean .if some one don't like your video then they dont have to look at it , or comment on . and say thing's that may hurt a human .. nice video ...

  • Thank you so much for the kind comment :-)

  • Great video. Thanks. This might help my friend. She have fake rings.

  • lol u kno u da one who were fake rings

  • thanks for the great vid, I've been throwing away my fun jewelry for years but that'll change now :)

  • gay because i am a boy

  • I don't understand you comment....but okay lol

  • i think 'ARKIMEDES999' is right, if not excessenly rude, altho the tooth paste will do a great tempory job and is great for fake jewellery, its not recommended for real expensive jewellery as it IS a corrosive, and will break down the metals after prolonged use. dont even use it sparinly on family pieces as it will break down the metal and weakin it.

  • Thank you for your comment...it was much more polite lol. This is why I made sure to put the word *fake* in the title. I wouldn't use this on any of my real gold or silver. Thanks again

  • I just used it on a few pieces on my fake/gold silver earrings and they worked like magic!! But it must be washed under warm water.. Cold water doesn't rlly work. Never knew toothpaste was such a versatile thing:) thanks for this video, keep it up!

  • yes people it works on real jewelry also, and for the ones who said that it would "corrode" them is false. I always use this method on my white gold Diamond rings and it is amazing how is sparkles but i use a clean toothbrush

  • Thanks for the info. But don't you dare come on my channel being rude. Just give your info and keep it moving. This method does clean your jewelry, but please pay close attention to this.....This is used to clean your FAKE gold/silver jewelery. Therefore, it gets the job done, and no one expects for their FAKE jewelry to last forever. So if it does end up corroding the jewelry (which I have NOT experienced), who cares?? It is FAKE. Have a great week..and pay closer attention next time.

  • Toothpaste corrodes (damages) metals dont use it on fake or real jewelry you idiots.

Use a degreaser like lemon fresh dish soap. Takes a few minutes.

Personally i pour goasoline into a plastic throw-away cup and dip my neclace in their the grime melts away in 2 seconds.

polish it off with 100% cotton cloth.

  • I think this is an awesome tip,but you might want to plug the sink just in case :D

  • good idea! Thanks for the tip...

  • yes it works great on real gold or real silver dont be afraid to use it, it wont ruin them

  • thanks for the info!

  • it woks with real gold?

    thanks XD

  • I'm not sure if it works with real gold. I've only tried it on fake. I don't think it would hurt the gold, but I'm not sure if it would work either.

  • for years I was using baking soda and lime juice."this" works soooo much better and faster!!!!I had a necklace that was almost brown ,within seconds it turn back to silver again!!! I went and cleaned all my stuff with toothpaste!!!thanks for the tip!!!!!

  • Great! I'm so happy it worked for you. I know how it feels to want to wear jewelry but they have turned. Thank goodness for toothpaste!! lol

  • I have been sitting here for about an hour and 45 minutes watching your videos and I must say that you are AWESOME!!!!!

  • LOL...thank you! I'm happy to know someone likes them lol

  • I just want to thank you. This helped me alot.

  • You're welcome! I'm happy to hear it help you out.
