Oh those great high school years and music like this! Times when you and your friends had to meet face to face to talk, no cell phones, no texts, no email. Yes it's good now for some things, but everyone is loosing touch with what is true and personal, one on one direct contact with those you grow up with. Sure things change and so do your friends, but nothing can nor will take away those great years of the 70's!!!
When I die and stand before God I will thank him for many things in my life and being lucky enough to have grown up in the 70's and listened to this great music.
i was born in wrong generation, i should have been born in the 70's instead of the late 90's -_- i dont like rap or country or other stuff just classic rock :D
Born in '61 and had the Vinyl from Debut to ROCKS. Draw the Line they were, especially Steven, heavy into drugs. saw them in concert in '77 and Steven was having trouble with the lyrics and they kind of stunk it up but that's what drugs will do, I know first hand. Bon Scott and AC/DC opened up for them and I was real happy to see them perform, so the Headliner wasn't as bad after all. I must say the first four AeroSmith albums can never be replicated..ROCK ON!!
WTF, Got to be the greatest American band, I agree the bubble gum stuff was kinda hard to swallow, but they are still Rockin! I've seen them 10 times through thick and thin ( Including the infamous "Don't cry over spilled milk " incident in Cleveland in 1979! Thank You for posting this ! AEROSMITHSONIAN LIVES
When I go around listening to my favorite rock, I always see Bieber mentioned in the comments....What the fuck does Beiber have to do with this? Beiber = SHIT. Leave Beiber out of it, it doesn't belong in the same forum as a rock band of this status, get it???
YES! Absolutly they were raw and rough in the beginning, but then after 10, 15 yrs of raw you have to let that rawness heel. Then comes commercialized ( forgive my spelling) healing. Gotta do what u gotta do. In my eyes they still rocked liked a MTF. Have to be the best band from the U.S. Ooh its a sunny day outside my window1 ooh o YEA!
@ReverendTrip Yes, 70's Aerosmith was good, 80's too. But now they should pack it in, especially Steven Tyler making a fool of himself falling off stages and acting like a moron on American Idol. Not knowing when to leave the spotlight has done so many of them in. Look at Gene Simmons and Ozzy Osborne.
@57highland i agree to some extent, but what about the generations who havent gotten to see them that love them. for example i was born 93 and if they quit in the late 80's i never wouldve gotten to see them in 01. im thankful theyre still around but the publicity stuff is to much, you're right about that
@xXFollowerOfRonnieXx let me let you in on a little secret ...they were absolutely at their best in the 70s and early 80s.....they have put out some good ones.....however every song on every album was good till later in the 80s i have seen them 9 times from the 70s till two years ago and the still rock but early on they also rolled...thanks
@jefster1961 i dont dispute that. all im saying is that, at least in my personal experience, live music is a wonder to behold, especially if its a band/group/artist that you have a passion for hearing. i think that if aerosmith stil tours it should be for old albums and that only but i still believe they should tour. i agreefully that they lost a bit of luster in their late albums but the music they made should still be shared if able.
Amazing song....amazing band. They were so much better when they were raw and rough like this as opposed to the slick polished sound they've had since Permanent Vacation. The songwriting is very sophisticated, they always had very strong melodies and clever arrangements, such as the guitars sounding like trumpets during the verses.
No words can describe how awesome this song and Aerosmith is! I like the idea of the Aerosmith wings as a tattoo. I'm 52 and thinking about getting my first tattoo. How appropriate? This was my first album.
I grew up with this music in the 70's. This is in my blood too. There will never be a band quite like Aerosmith. I'm getting some in with their Aero logo on my bicep soon.
Lady Ga Gag is just ripping off Dale Bozzio's image from Missing Person, and that was a rockin' band in the 80's This is another Aerosmith album that just still swims in my blood today, this is awesome music!...the whole album is great.
I was 12 years old when a bought toy's on cassette wore it out. Aerosmith was the blue collar’s man rock! Of all the albums that came out in 1975 this was the best! The only one that might..... compare to it would be the Who by numbers. Raw ass rocking roll like this waged war on the disco scene
Actually, I know what the song is about. It's about a chick (me) in the mid 70's. She was telling Steven one afternoon about her abusive childhood and how she came to be living in La Jolla with a drug dealer, who Steven was visiting at the time, after she had been a dancer in San Diego. She told Steven her story and he wrote it down that very day. "It's a Sunny Day outside My Window" is a direct quote by me about the fact we never went outside.
@pghpa611 that is a great story. Sounds like you have many cool stories to tell. Would love to sit down with you and hear them. I am a huge classic rocker fan. I was a teen in the Mid 70's also. What a great time to grow up.
My favorite of their songs (from what is one of the greatest albums ever). This song always reminds me of a friend of mine, who tried to convince his mom (way back when) of how tremendous this song was. It didn't work (lol)...but at least he gave it a shot.

I love to see people state some band or guitar player is better than the other. I wish there were standards but its all everyones opinion. My point being I think Ten Nugent is one of the greatest Guitar players out there. But he is not even on the top 100 list. Nobody in the world could tell me Curt Cobain is better than Ted. NEVER

@guitarman98ful Um, learn your facts, dude: there would be literally NO SLASH without Joe Perry. Joe Perry is the GOD here, and Slash is is his disciple. Joe's style does not emphasize shredding the guitar like Slash, but if they were in a guitar battle, then Joe would easily tear Slash to pieces. Now that's the truth. He's been playing for about 45 YEARS, when Slash was BORN.

I think that there's some dispute about the lyrics to this song. I've heard one translation as: "...to the orphanage", and one: "...till the orphan bleeds". Aerosmith has never been---how to say it?---'forthcoming' about the words to their songs.

Because in the top 100 greatest guitar players out there the list show Curt Coward Cobain as 11th or 12th best. Then Eddie Van Halen is like 78, David Gilmour is like 83, Neil Young is 82. Bullshit I say he does not even belong on that list. Also Ted Nugent is IMO 100x better that cobain he is not even on the list. BULLSHIT LIST
@tinman5680.. I hear you brother...I bet I smoked 10 lbs of dope listening to this album. On 8 track no less, ah those were the days. I don't care what anybody says the 70's were a GREAT time to be alive and a teenager!
@Cheops2112 rock on!!!! I used to listen to this when it was wet,rainy,gloomy.... in San Antonio,Texas!~!!~ or any time JOE ANTHONY would spin it ROCK ON ROCK ON Chris j
Mutt Lange ripped off this song's music to make the hit: I feel like a woman for Shania Twain.. listen 25 seconds into the song... you will see what I mean
This one and Seasons Of Wither---best of 'em all (my opinion) **Check out the Joe Perry Project---"South Station Blues". I'm originally from greater Beantown area--seen these guys multiple times back in the very early years stoned out of our freak'n minds! Great times, great music, great group, always were--always will be!
@littleboeep you know what i am a teen and i am crazy for Aerosmith. i have heard ga ga and bieber and i think it's trash. my brother who is only 1 1/2 years younger than i likes the s@&% they come out with today. i don't get it. those who have never heard Aerosmith i feel bad for, those who have heard Aerosmith and didn't like them i give them the address to the nearest mental institute
We need to expose them to this music and they'll come around. I got the ex gang bangers at work listening to the rock station and actually tuning it in. I just remind them of the inclusive nature of my music and the fact that we tried to save the world and came as close as any group ever did, our music/stories are timeless. Resist the temptation to put that crap they call music down. People should be allowed to be correct enough to afford change. Rock Lives On
@MrFabboman fear not! for there is still hope! i am still in highschool! just waitin for some rocker reinforcements who aren't into screaming bullshit... my musical interests... so alone....
I just love listening to this music and remembering all those crazy times my friends and I spend in my friend's van and listening to this! its just beautiful, so awesome that when i tell my daughter about all the great time I had she forgets about all her Ke$ha bullshit and wishes she would've been alive during this times too!
This is such a good song. I heard when they tried playing this album live audiences got bored. They must have had music mental problems...the whole album is good, no bad song on it.
The raw sex appeal of Steven's voice when he sings "or two or three" is fucking hot. Hell, the raw sex appeal of Steven's voice anytime is fucking hot.
my fav aerosmith songs: Walk this Way, Train Kept a rollin, Uncle Salty, Love in an Elevator, Back in the saddle, The other side, Dream on, Last Child, Home Tonight and others.
My 5 favorite Aerosmith songs, Uncle Salty, Spaced, Movin Out, One Way Street, Back In The Saddle. This is the absolute cream of Smith. I could expand my list to 10 but I can tell you the next 5 would be from these same albums.
JW -The song is about how a young girl goes mad from sexual abuse, the sunny day outside my window reference may be her "happy place" that she uses to escape reality. She becomes a prostitute and seems to be doing OK for herself (her's is the cunning for men who come a'runnin) though it's hardly a happy ending.... couldn't help myself.

This is one song I'll never grow tired of.
I think it may be, if not the best, then one of the best written and played song by Aerosmith.
It gives me chills because it reflects my life almost perfectly.
Thanks for adding this powerful song.

Mutt Lange ripped off this song's music to make the hit: I feel like a woman for Shania Twain.. listen 25 seconds into the song... you will see what I mean
bluesbrother639 10 months ago
@bluesbrother639 I noticed that too and tried to convince my Shania-lovin friends. Mutt should have just rereleased this tune.

@littleboeep

This was the GREAT Areosmith. Way before they turned 80's MTV pop with stupid songs like "Love in an elevator" and "Living on the edge".
