  • Beautiful city !!! I love Kiev, one of the most beautiful cities in the world, I've been there twice, and everytime I go there I feel like I'm at home. Orthodox Churches with golden domes with such a beautiful views from hillsides on to the city and the dnieper river oooooohhhhh god. I was born in Estonia and I'm Russian. Обожаю Киев, Украину

as i just looked up kherson and it looks a shit ole

sorry if any offence there but i can't get a feel for that place

and kiev looks and seems better i think

  • Beautiful country. I hope to see it some day.

  • many slavs think too big of themselves.

experienced in person (friends and colleagues)

  • @igrenade Just our culture is superior to western :-) But western Europe and USA can not see that, becuase of the shortcomings of their own culture. It is paradox.

  • @EsaulRuss

you just gave me proof for my words. thank you, my egoistic and straight-minded friend.

    >superior to western

hahahahaha cool story bro. nice job comparing an entire ethnicity's culture with a single country's. it's really sad you have to use so much to compare to a single, "inferior" country.

  • @igrenade @igrenade @igrenade Well I was just joking, but I do have a real answer for you. We, Slavs, Ukrainians, Russians and others just live in a different dimention. Example: in States I hear people say how custromer service is bad and how Europeans are rude; I, on the other hand, think that in USA customer service is supperficial and artificial and has no soul, so there you go, simple but important point. See we are more real people than Americans, and the subject is very massive.

  • @EsaulRuss

    you're generalizing and bullshitting.

come back and talk to me again when you've got solid proof, imbecile.

  • @igrenade O believe me I can write you an essay about it and in the end I am sure you will understand my point. See, it is all about how people grew up and how govenments have developed. In Russia and Ukraine we always lived in a more "natural" or more Earthly way; we have our bad side and good side, but, our misfortunes are natrural and, as a result, nature will spare our culture and nations. Calling me an imbecile only proves what I say. I am not saying west is worse, it is fake and futile

  • @EsaulRuss

    tl;dr

    bullshit and generalize more, imbecile.

  • @igrenade Got it :-) I see that Imbecile is your favorite word, try to update your vocabulary next time ok? I thought I was talking to someone intelligent, sorry I was wrong, so long and best regards!

  • @EsaulRuss "imbecile" is all i need to describe you completely. don't flatter yourself, imbecile.

  • @EsaulRuss I agree that Americans are more superficial. I'll take superficial over stone-faced and devoid of expression any day, however. I spent 2 weeks travelling Eastern Europe last year, and while I enjoyed the architecture, I found the people to be extremely un-friendly. Compare that to my trip to Amsterdam/Germay and it's completely different story...helpful people, eagerness to get to know you, friendly. I'm typically not one to generalize...

  • @PhenixJoe Are you kidding me haha; Amesterdam is the narcotic capital of the world, so I'm not surprised everyone there is relaxed, friendly and in some cases brain-dead. I've lived in America pretty much my whole life, and I don't think there is another country filled with more asshole's... except maybe France. In Ukraine and Russia many people keep to themselves, because the streets arn't necessarily safe. I'm not even Ukranian lol but what your saying is just bs, Ukranians are fun people :D

  • @ShkatuIka I'd say your comment is pure BS as well. If you've been to Amsterdam, you'd know that the locals are not the ones that indulge in the drugs, it's primarily foreigners (like Americans). Of course you are entitled to your opinion, but most people who've experienced Eastern Europe agree with me. If you really read what I'm saying, I wasn't calling them "assholes," but rather "stoic." There's a huge difference.

  • @PhenixJoe my comment is BS? HAH! So what if the 'locals' in Amsterdam arn't the ones doing drugs, what difference does it make when the city is constantly populated by those who do? And even though you didn't call Eastern-Europeans assholes, you have suggested that they live a dreary existance void of emotion and expression, alienated from each other and everyone around them. You've also suggested people in Germany are more friendly and willing to help. Again, HAH! You sir are a tool. :D

  • @ShkatuIka l

  • @ShkatuIka Are you like twelve with your spastic "HAHAHAs" that you've managed to include every other line? A.) I was speaking about Western Europe/the USA, not just Amsterdam, but it seems you're clinging on to that to someone debunk what I said.

  • @PhenixJoe somehow*

  • @ShkatuIka And wow! You can sure surmise a lot from just a few sentences. I had no idea I meant that they live in dreary existences void of emotion and alienate themselves from one another. I'm glad you were able to interpret my words for me though. I don't even need to get creative returning your "tool" insult here; you're just straight-up dumb and annoying.

  • @PhenixJoe mhm I am so dumb, which is why I will be in med-school soon and your just some stupid peice of shit with nothing better to do than criticize cultures he doesnt understand

  • @EsaulRuss ...but this has been the case with far too many people far too many times to write it off as coincidence. I'm sure the Slavic people cherich their loved ones, but they are certainly not warm to strangers. It made for a very unpleasant trip. I'm not sure what you meant by "the subject is massive" (that doesn't make sense), but THIS, my friend, is the overwheling consensus on Eastern Europeans in the Western world.

  • @PhenixJoe We do have many people who are gloomy or distant. Sometimes it is a personal thing but sometimes it can be just the way you feel it, your personal perspective. The culture is different so to person like you it may seem that everybody is a stranger. For example, I lived in USA for 8 years and I felt that I stranger here too, despite my good English. I also find their customer service very pushy and onecided, but they would sau that Europeans are rude, so it is a matter of perspective

  • @EsaulRuss I will agree with that. I think "stoic" is a better way to describe my experience with Eastern Europeans. They weren't necessarily mean, just lacked expression. I suppose the positive side is that they're a bit more genuine, and you really know when someone likes you.

  • Thanks for sharing. Congrats for scenes and songs. Hugs from Brasil!

  • Як називається ця пісня?

  • i want to go here.. this is where my family is from,, so proud to be Ukrainian .. it's funny cause when I see Ukrainian people.. I feel at home.. cause they all look like me.lol

  • I love this city!

  • @jasonbently2003 Ey pider. I know it as Kiev. I call it Kiev. That's how I shall keep the video, you narrow minded victim of a xenophobic, corrupt regime.

  • @dragon1234178 yes Ukrainians are the narrow minded victims of a xenophobic Russian regime

  • @jasonbently2003 dragon din latterlige narrøv !!! DAMN an asshole you are, wish to meet you....

  • @1972core Alas you won't have that privilege.

  • @dragon1234178 the language you used is inspiring!

  • @jasonbently2003 I have faith in you. Soviet regime , capitalist regime , ect..ect...

These are just political games to divide you and control you. It comes with times and changes as time changes, nations needs changes. Dont hate each other , country is noting without its people.

  • Hi, i am planning a trip to Kiev around March 2011 and would like to know how is the weather at the end of March? Is it very cold?

  • I am looking foreward to visit your country and your city on holidag, now in September :-) I normally like the Ukrainian song to the Eurovision Song Contest every year.

  • you could've shown a lot more nicer places than that! kyiv is beautiful, although it's a tough city.

  • @msbrainz

What do you mean by 'tough city'?? Are the people aggressive??!!

  • @pridefalcon

i mean life is not easy there if you live there. poverty, crime and corruption, all because of the greedy politicians

  • @msbrainz

Thanks for your explination, I hope things will get better in the future..

  • I WAS BORN AS UKRAINE AND GUNNA DIE AS UKRAINE !!!

  • Beautiful video, thanks you! :D

This is one of my dream to go Kiev since ~1 year, but i'm French and even if the price to go and sleep there is not very high, I have to learn Ukraine language and it's hard for a French guy :p

Is there a lot of people that's speak English in Kiev and in Ukraine in general?

  • Greetings and thanks for the beautiful video.(((O)))

  • Awww I miss Kiev. Haven't been there in 5 years. Thanks for posting this. What is the name of this song?

  • Have you ever visited Pripyat?

  • Looks like a communist city.

    My family are from ukraine.

  • @Poopnoodles35 No shit. Decades under Soviet rule...

At least the folks there speak English correctly.

  • @dragon1234178

Thats true, in ukraine they do speak english fine.

    Im from ukraine.

  • @dragon1234178 @dragon1234178 Don't missunderstand now cos I'm a fullblooded slav BUT! Both Polskies and Ruskies don't care about English that much. Why? Cos the language is big enough. Plus English is a ugly language.

I LOVE Ukraine so as I said don't missunderstand me. In fact I have Ukrainian blood in me.

  • @Poopnoodles35 Any city in what was the Soviet Union was a " Communist City"

Kiev has much more culture and history than just communism.

    .

  • @Poopnoodles35 this is a commi city i dont know i never been there but my family are ukraine to :) but i have been in lviv and it not a commi city

  • @MrMrTrader Im just saying it reminds me.

  • 0:19 мой дом Бальзака 80

  • Молодцы, супер! Киев лицо Украины!

  • нормально снял +100.....

  • beautiful city

  • Kiev is the capital of Ancient Russia-Kievan Rus

Go search in Wikipedia. Also recommend article: RUSSIA - early history

There has never been a state " Ukraine" until Bolsheviks created Ukrainian SSR in 1923 and then made it a separate country in 1991.

"Ukraina" or "Okraina" is a Russian word for "Outskirts, border" because that's what those lands were in Russian Empire. But there has never been "Kyivan Ukraine" ONLY- Kiev Rus-Russia

  • I can't wait to visit Kiev next year. I want to see that mall with the blue lights and many of the other things. I am also going to Chernobyl while I am there.

  • Nowhere in the World it is possible that war criminals and murderers are made heroes! In your country streets are named after Bandera! You are building monuments to them and kids at school have to learn that UPA are National Heroes!

    Go watch again: UKRAINE HOLOCAUST,

or POGROM IN LWOW - it is Lwow by the way and not Lviv, just like Kiev has never been Kyiv

Or maybe Ukrainian Nationalists did not slaughter 50,000 civilian Poles in WW2?

You yourselves are occupants and murderers

  • Kiev is the capital of Ancient Rus, then was Moscow, St.Petersburg and now Moscow. But it is still a Russian city. Almost all churches are Orthodox not Roman-Greek like in Galichina. All attemps of Western Ukrainian Nationalists to create anti-Russian Ukraine are pathetic. Half of the country speaks Russian and not Western dialect "mova" including most famous Ukrainians- boxers Brothers Klitchko. Watch: Vitaly in Parliament.

Vitaly Klitschko for mayor of Kiev!

  • @watcherwatcher2 O my god, I got it, you just copy and paste all your SAME COMMENTS on every video about Ukraine. How pathetic, same as your pathetic knowledge of History. Go to library stupid bastard.

  • Wenn Ihre Vorfahren kämpften für Kiew im Jahr 1941 und kann ihre Erinnerungen zu teilen, schreiben Sie mir bitte

  • from Wikipedia on Ukraine:

In the 9th century, much of modern-day Ukraine was populated by the Slavic tribes. The so-called Kievan Rus was founded by Rus' people, Varangians who first settled around Ladoga and Novgorod, then gradually moved southward eventually reaching Kiev about 880. Kievan Rus' included the western part of modern Ukraine, Belarus, with larger part of it situated on the territory of modern Russia.

  • very good

  • Comment removed

  • The city may have been founded in the 5th century as a trading post, perhaps part of the land of the early Slavs. It gradually acquired eminence as the centre of the East Slavic civilization, becoming in the tenth to twelfth centuries a political and cultural capital of "Rus' (Ancient Russia) a medieval East Slavic state.

    Cheers

  • Kiev is a beautiful city

    love this vid

  • Киевская русь - возродится !

  • The Capital of Ukraine is Kyiv - article 20 Ukrainian Constitution official English Translation - technically kiev no longer exists since Ukraine became independent of Soviet Russia or Russia

  • Kiev is a great town. It was a lot of fun. One month wasn't enough. I can't wait to go back. Great people, lots of things to see, great night life. It was awesome.

  • I am Polish and I love Ukraine and Ukrainian people. I think it's beautiful we could finally find the way to communicate. I dont think we should talk about history that much we both did wrong in a way and we should bulid better future. I wish Ukraine was independent country with good economy

  • @robertas27

    nice comment

    we wish it all

  • @robertas27 It is independent -_-!

  • @robertas27 Fuck off Poles, its part of Russian empire, u never had one, thats why u always get shit on. Build an army pussies. and stop hiding behind NATO and US, Germany is gonna take that shit back one day :)

  • So guys...I lived in Kiev until i was 5 then I moved to Germany and it was a misstake, but I hadn't have a choice.I musted move to Germany because of my parents.I WANT BACK.

There are my friends,my family and my fuckin' ukrainan soul. I <3 Ukraine.

Kiev,Ukraine the BEST ..fuck the REST.

  • which song is this???? by the way...beautiful pics :)

  • go other way bitches! I live in Ukraine and i'm proud of it!!and you won't change it!we aren't speaking about your bitch Slovakis and that she is cleaner, but i love that!! In slovakia are too gipsies and dorellictions but you don't what's the love must be to love your country

  • Its a little over proud in my opinion. Its ok to be Proud, but to make a video of it is like whatever!

  • So do all the damage UKRAINE: Russians, Poles, Mongol (???), Germany. And the Ukrainians do not make anyone a loss: the commemoration of a fascist is normal ... except only in Ukraine ... but it is not normal in a civilized world.

  • I live in Hungary. Kyiv is Kijev in Hungarian.

  • I live in Ukraine, and Hungry is Угорщина in Ukrainian. So, what???

  • Stupid really mistake. I mean Hungary

  • both Soviet and Nazis were enemies of free and independent Ukraine - Stalin and Soviets mass murdered more innocent Ukrainians than Poles, Mongols, Turks, Huns and Germans all put together

  • Ukrainian genocide (in collaboration with SS) of Poles - Volhynia 1943-1944

International criminal court should start investigating the matter. Actual gameplay and aspirations should not interfere in clarifying and deposited criminals of World War II - Allies of Ukrainian Nationalists-Third Reich of Hitler, who murdered Jews and Poles. For nothing is justice! Laugh at us Poles, when we cut the body saws. Children up to nail wood, and barbed wire wrapping.

  • Kyiv is a Ukrainian city - this video is number 1 - except the correct name is Kyiv

  • what's the name of the song?

  • I'm proud of Kiev! It's the best city in the world!=)

  • You wish. I lived in Kiev for 1 year. Worst year of my life. Dirty, smelly, constant traffic, terrible roads, rude people, terrible grocery stores, prostitutes everywhere... thats Kiev!!

  • @tibor29 You must be joking?? If Kyiv are dirty, so what about Slovakia and your capital city. I was there just for 2 weeks for holiday. Worse holiday in my live. Dirty, strange,Gipsy. My money has been stolen. Oh.... I do not want to think about it. Slovakia - Crazy state. Avoid to go there!!!

  • lol yeah right. You can't compare Slovakia with Ukraine. You are not even in the EU... hmm wonder why... Bratislava is 1000x times cleaner than Kiev, they will steal your money anywhere in the world if you don't know how to watch out for your stuff and Gipsies? That's not our problem! Wonder why the live in Slovakia though and not Ukraine if your country is so amazing.

  • Yep its true. I can not compare Ukraine with Slovakia. Yes, Slovakia in EU, and 1000x cleaner, and better state in the world and inside EU and outside. Slovakia is most rich and powerful country in the world ))))) BUT NEVER EVER I`LL GO THERE, AND I ADVISE EVERY ONE, take extra care, when you visit that small but very powerful state!!!!!!!!

  • Typical Ukrainian, why do I even bother... Yes your country is AMAZING, Ukraine is the best and most beautiful country in the world. Is that what you wanted to hear? You know yourself it's not true! In Ukraine only millionaires have a good life. The other 99% of people live in poverty. And I know what I am talking about because I lived there! In Ukraine you see a huge millionaire house and right next to it are small 50 year old huts where the normal poor people live. Thats Ukraine.

  • Its everywhere mate, everywhere. Not just in Ukraine. Its happens in UK, France, USA, rusia, Everywhere. So, what you wanted to say by that???

  • Yes, there are millionaires and poor everyone I agree. But in Ukraine you only have millionaires and poor. There is no middle class.

  • I`m a Ukrainian middle class, and I have a lot lot friends of mine, who a bit richer or bit poorer then me. I have everything what do I need. Men, What you talking about??? and why???

  • They're proud of there huts!

  • Im from Odessa.......ind i wanna tell that i liked Kyiv...and it has interesting buildings in the historical cener......mostly they are newer than in Odessa......because more building where destroyed during the WW2...comparing with Odessa....ind i like squares..maydan is epic)....and of course temples are beautiful...and buildings in center are more restored...and yes ive seen many pretty girls!I wish Odessa have more money....to restore more of our beautiful buildings in our historical center!

  • i love kyiv most beatiful in the world i was there this summer!god bless ukraine!

  • Ok, no problem - Kyiv. Thanks for advice. %)

  • I was Kiev in 2009!! I had some unforgettable time. Thanks to dudes from jumpin(.)com(.)ua , they helped me with accommodation and time spending in Kiev!!! :))

  • @31justRay next time you visit Kyiv look aroound the signs all read Kyiv - I am assuming you can read??

  • The Capital of Ukraine is Kyiv - article 20 Ukraine Constitution - Kyiv is correct English Translation as adopted by Ukraine Government - technically Kiev does not exist however many dictionaries etc slow to adopt new spelling

  • Dear Ukrainian friends! If I were u, I would rather worry about pretty low aesthetic value of this vid (instead of arguing hier about the english options for its name!). Being correctly treated, Kiev is ABSOLUTELY 1 of the the world's best cities! In my modest opinion this vid doesn't help to get such an idea...

  • Kiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiev!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    krasa nacha

  • stop arguing about the name!! call the way you want kyiv or kiev. i call it kiev. kiev sounds better. and easier to say. stop trying to brake the tongue with this Kyiv.

  • sure you call it what you like however this is fairly ignorant and disrespectful to Ukrainians, Ukrainian nation its constitution, history and culture - you really should show more respect after all world's embassies including USA, even Russian use Kyiv - Kyiv is written on all legal documents in Ukraine and if you changed the name on these legal documents to Kiev you would render them unofficial - calling the capital city Kyiv by its proper name respects Ukrainian culture and independence

  • What's the song called? Can I find it on iTunes?

  • name of the music please!!!

  • people from Kyiv are called Kyivanites - people from kiev are Katsapi

  • LOL, well not so many ppl are used to spell it this way, so I think we can forgive them : )

  • maria4wh why LOL? - are you product Stalin's russification?

  • No Im not, listen this guy made a nice vid. , I really enjoyed it, and well maybe he speaks russian ( SO WHAT?), but its not a reason to call him katsap, moskal or any other offensive stuff.

  • really I don't think you really know much about Ukraine and the dreadful history of Russian hegemony

  • It has nthn. to do with a right of ppl speaking the language they want to speak. I was grown in bilingual environment and speak both languages equally as respect both of them. And the idea of forcing ppl to speak only ukranian makes me sick. I believe myself being a citizen of democratic state where its ppl have a right of choice, coz this is what democracy about.

  • the right of democracy? very interesting? what about the rights of millions of innocent Ukrainians who were mass murdered under Stalin? or were displaced or shipped out of Ukraine or forced to learn, speak and write in foreign Russian language - what about their rights? and many thousands were killed for not converting to Russian Partriarcate - fact is free, fair and democratic Ukraine has legally adopted offical Ukrainian language and you idea of respect is nonsense

  • Excuse me, but are you ukranina or do you live in Ukraine long enough?

  • sure in modern democratic Ukraine you have the freedom to speak whatever language you choose however the democratic process has chosed Ukraine as official language - if you don't like it stiff cheese - however at least no one will kill you or deport you like the Soviets did during Russification of Ukraine

  • so you think that be4 stalin came poulation of ukraine was speaking ukranian? and what about 16-20 century when ukraine was devieded between russian empire in the east and poland, Lithuani, romania, and hungary and ppl were speakin all thouse languages , and no need to tell me about stalins repressions as my grandpa was an ОУН УПА warrior. ANd the language is not an issue here

  • Ukrainian language has always been spoken in Ukraine - Russification began Catherine 2 - Soviet sbegan Ukrainization until they realised this was not helping thier commie cause they began Russifying Ukraine from 1930's - Ofcourse other languages were present however Ukrainian language has always been main spoken mainly by common/peasant folk - the backbone of Ukraine -
