@Alpha2261 and guess what had it before android - WINDOWS mobile and yes i have had two android phones and 1 tablet, to which all were used for about a year before being promptly thrown from a window due to lag, glitches and viruses EG: pay use £100 to unencrypt your data and the fact remains , as long as the nexus runs android, it wont be better than IOS until they make the OS more secure, stable and standardized.

@Alpha2261 it is hardware wise better than the iphone but the matter is that the Android os cannot utilize this power correctly, (kind of like vista to PC's) and so even though it is equal in power to the 4S, it is still slower simply because of the inefficient OS coding
@ox141jf No, it runs Android 4.0. Completely new and meant to be more efficient and working on many different screen sizes and formats (even tablets and laptops). Look up speed tests. The galaxy nexus beats iphone in all of them. Especially browser speedtests. Not to mention the screens resolution allows you to see much more of each web page. also, it doesnt show a checkered pattern when scrolling. android 4.0 is meant to completely standardize everything. more stable and secure.
@Alpha2261 yes i understand this, but apart from the nexus and a SMALL few other devices that can upgrade , most people will be stuck on a bad android OS or don't have the technical knowledge to upgrade not to mention, android 4.0 will likely be badly ported by the Chinese and it is still vulnerable to viruses etc

@Alpha2261 no i am trying to compare the OS and the fact if the matter is, it is not secure, it is still largely buggier than ios and too open source therefore a big risk for people who's life revolves around their device, Android 4.0 is a big improvement but as i said, only a few devices have it and the ones that do, NEXUS - costs more than an iphone and in a way gets rid of the biggest reason for the majority of people to get an android rather than an iphone.

not to mention, once the phone is jailbroken , which is quite easy, you don't have to be tech savvy to tweak ios, just search cydia for a tweak you like and install, unlike android where so many things can go wrong in retrospect because tweaks arent aimed at one dev usually.
@ox141jf secondly and quite importantly, IOS, even jailbroken is more stable than the majority of android running devices based on the simple fact that it has a small device base to accommodate and so apps are generally glitch free and although a study said apps crash more in ios, they faild to take into account that many apps simply dont work on android full stop, and to account for all the Chinese knock off androids that are simply terrible .

the iphone has a very solid well designed body, matal and glass well fitted together with screws hold it firmly, in comparison to well designed body of some androids but with the added feature of cheap, painted plastic shells that faid, break chip and snap. the nexus is better with all glass front screen, but sadly, plastic bodies on phones are the embezzlement of going cheap somewhere in the process.
@ox141jf I do agree with you that iOS is better for people who don't know anything about technology. While I, on the other hand, love android because I can customize everything about it and do whatever I want without hacking it aka rooting it. But I would say iOS is more easy to use and android is for more advanced users. And I also agree that android 4.0 devices like galaxy nexus cost more but it also has 32 gb built in.

As for the iPhone vs android fanboyism I have both an iPhone 4 and a Motorola Droid Razr, the Razr wins in every category. Most important thing is customization and regardless of what you do with an iPhone your home screen will ALWAYS look pretty much exactly the same. Problem with this is the default home screen sucks ass. I spent a lot of time jailbreaking it to make it look good and act more intuitive but it was a bandaid on a missing limb.

Why is that a reason to have an IPhone? This app just uses the compass of the Phone to rotate the virtual Camera in the App depending on the phones orientation. @hackerajax I have owned both the droid X and the GalaxyS. My current phone is the Iphone 4S and my wife currently has the GS2. I was going to go GS2 as well but in reality all fanboy stuff aside and as an ex user of Android in my honest opinion the Iphone is everything a quality product should be. There is no comparison between the buggy poorly coded apps from the Android market and the always superior apps of the Iphone platform. That is one of the main things that give the I phone
@lamiac2411 everyone has their own opinion, i would say android is better not because of the apps but because of the freedom you have on it. i have an ipod 4th gen 64gb and i only use it for games thats all, but because i cant delete a song, specific photo in an album, organize files moving them around the system, or even get access to the root of the device without using a computer. even less take out its battery,when i have an android which i can run special scripts on, like java
@hackerajax an edge in my opinion. Virtually any App that is available in the Android market is also available on the I phone. My wife always steals my phone to play her favorite games because the Android version is usually lacking content in some way. Or it is poorly coded and over heats and/or drains an enourmous amount of battery life. I would say moving from Android to IOS was an upgrade in an of itself Lol. However I am a Windows man when it comes to desktop

On iPhone you can only tweak your wallpaper

@Alpha2261 so with an android phone you have to specifically go out and buy a military grade phone for it to be tough , meaning it will be bulky and not as nice to handle not to mention you would be paying extra just because its tough whereas the iphone is tough and for £20 can be permanently waterproof. not to mention because only apply makes it, support is easy to find and the phone generally works.
i have several friends with android phones ans they all hate theirs in comparison.

@Alpha2261 and guess what had it before android - WINDOWS mobile and yes i have had two android phones and 1 tablet, to which all were used for about a year before being promptly thrown from a window due to lag, glitches and viruses EG: pay use £100 to unencrypt your data and the fact remains , as long as the nexus runs android, it wont be better than IOS until they make the OS more secure, stable and standardized.

@Alpha2261 it is hardware wise better than the iphone but the matter is that the Android os cannot utilize this power correctly, (kind of like vista to PC's) and so even though it is equal in power to the 4S, it is still slower simply because of the inefficient OS coding

@ox141jf No, it runs Android 4.0. Completely new and meant to be more efficient and working on many different screen sizes and formats (even tablets and laptops). Look up speed tests. The galaxy nexus beats iphone in all of them. Especially browser speedtests. Not to mention the screens resolution allows you to see much more of each web page. also, it doesnt show a checkered pattern when scrolling. android 4.0 is meant to completely standardize everything. more stable and secure.

@Alpha2261 yes i understand this, but apart from the nexus and a SMALL few other devices that can upgrade , most people will be stuck on a bad android OS or don't have the technical knowledge to upgrade not to mention, android 4.0 will likely be badly ported by the Chinese and it is still vulnerable to viruses etc
and wont be able to accommodate the knock offs much better than previous versions of android

However, those are phones you can get for free or less than 100 dollars. I'm comparing it to 300 dollar android phones such as galaxy nexus and razr. Those are the android phones im saying are better. You can't really compare a 300 dollar iphone with a free android phone....

@Alpha2261 no i am trying to compare the OS and the fact if the matter is, it is not secure, it is still largely buggier than ios and too open source therefore a big risk for people who's life revolves around their device, Android 4.0 is a big improvement but as i said, only a few devices have it and the ones that do, NEXUS - costs more than an iphone and in a way gets rid of the biggest reason for the majority of people to get an android rather than an iphone.

@ox141jf but the problem with saying that is most people wouldnt know how to tweak their android device or where to fond the tweaks to use as there is not a single repository for tweaks like cydia in ios.
not to mention, once the phone is jailbroken , which is quite easy, you don't have to be tech savvy to tweak ios, just search cydia for a tweak you like and install, unlike android where so many things can go wrong in retrospect because tweaks arent aimed at one dev usually.

@ox141jf secondly and quite importantly, IOS, even jailbroken is more stable than the majority of android running devices based on the simple fact that it has a small device base to accommodate and so apps are generally glitch free and although a study said apps crash more in ios, they faild to take into account that many apps simply dont work on android full stop, and to account for all the Chinese knock off androids that are simply terrible .

the iphone has a very solid well designed body, matal and glass well fitted together with screws hold it firmly, in comparison to well designed body of some androids but with the added feature of cheap, painted plastic shells that faid, break chip and snap. the nexus is better with all glass front screen, but sadly, plastic bodies on phones are the embezzlement of going cheap somewhere in the process.

While I, on the other hand, love android because I can customize everything about it and do whatever I want without hacking it aka rooting it. But I would say iOS is more easy to use and android is for more advanced users. And I also agree that android 4.0 devices like galaxy nexus cost more but it also has 32 gb built in.

As for the iPhone vs android fanboyism I have both an iPhone 4 and a Motorola Droid Razr, the Razr wins in every category. Most important thing is customization and regardless of what you do with an iPhone your home screen will ALWAYS look pretty much exactly the same. Problem with this is the default home screen sucks ass. I spent a lot of time jailbreaking it to make it look good and act more intuitive but it was a bandaid on a missing limb.

Why is that a reason to have an IPhone? This app just uses the compass of the Phone to rotate the virtual Camera in the App depending on the phones orientation. Wouldnt be a problem to do the same thing on android easily. The only reason i see is the high quality body. If there was android for Iphones i would surely buy one.

@hackerajax I have owned both the droid X and the GalaxyS. My current phone is the Iphone 4S and my wife currently has the GS2. I was going to go GS2 as well but in reality all fanboy stuff aside and as an ex user of Android in my honest opinion the Iphone is everything a quality product should be. There is no comparison between the buggy poorly coded apps from the Android market and the always superior apps of the Iphone platform. That is one of the main things that give the I phone

@lamiac2411 everyone has their own opinion, i would say android is better not because of the apps but because of the freedom you have on it. i have an ipod 4th gen 64gb and i only use it for games thats all, but because i cant delete a song, specific photo in an album, organize files moving them around the system, or even get access to the root of the device without using a computer. even less take out its battery,when i have an android which i can run special scripts on, like java

@hackerajax an edge in my opinion. Virtually any App that is available in the Android market is also available on the I phone. My wife always steals my phone to play her favorite games because the Android version is usually lacking content in some way. Or it is poorly coded and over heats and/or drains an enourmous amount of battery life. I would say moving from Android to IOS was an upgrade in an of itself Lol. However I am a Windows man when it comes to desktop

They are well built, granted, but Apple defined how the user should use his phone, and I don't like that. In my opinion even Android is too closed. I tried doing some advanced command line things in a terminal emulator for Android and it still sucked. I simply just can't use anything that isn't highly tweakable. On iPhone you can only tweak your wallpaper
