This is an excellent drama. The acting is excellent and the episodes are enjoyable to watch.  The English character, Benjamin ("Painter Ben"), adds to the enjoyment of each episode. Great chemistry and acting between all of the characters. Watching it with English subtitles on ICN-TV, Channel 24-3.

At first, i didnt wanna watch it coz i thought only characters are different from the old version. But i was kinda regret and wanted to recall ma old memory. So, I watched a few episodes of this new Huan Zhu Ge Ge.It was so funny, and i laugh a lot. I think this new one is good too..!!

All characters work hard, and they look just awsome for their acting. I like relationship between characters here then the old version. But afterall, I do support for both versions..^^ !!

This version is actually very good. i enjoy it a lot. It airs every day for two hours. I watched the original and this one is just as good. The characters are very develop and I enjoy watching all of them act together. Huanzhu gege is a very good actress. She plays the character very well. For those that say she's "trying too hard" to be like the old one, she's basically just playing the role of Huanzhu gege. That's how her character is supposed to be and I think she does a very good job at it!

luckygallkl The original was my favorite childhood drama. I loved it alot but this newer version ain't too bad either. In fact it got me addicted to watching this whole new version again although the plot is similar. Haha it is funnier and has more cute love scenes between the couples, it's fluffy. The original is the best but hey this deserves some credit too.

THE ORIGINAL IS ALWAYS BETTER! this one sucks balls. all the characters look alike and the girl who's playing huan zhu ge ge is trying too hard to be like the original. and holy cow... zhi wei is so ugly! plus they pout wayyy too much! i don't know what the directors were thinking... trying to make a new one... more like trying to make more money! making this for the new generation of kids... ?? so you want them to know how much the new one sucked that's all.

The story line/ characters (except for probably Er Tai) are MUCH better; Benjamin brings the entire drama to life. XYZ becomes more likable as well. In the original, all she did was get into trouble; I felt as if she did not deserve YQ's love. In this new one, their relationship is very well-developed and more genuine, and overall 10 × better. XYZ & Benjamin's relationship is amazing as well.

You may think ZW is not as pretty as the original, but her acting is just as good--maybe even better!

I think Zhang Rui's voice is gorgeous, but so was Alec Su's.

Yeah, I definitely liked the original Er Tai better. He was my favourite character. This new one was better looking but terrible. And Ruby Lin is still my favourite Zi Wei :)

I tried watching this new one, yes the graphics are great and the acting is decent, but honestly, I feel like I'm watching some sitcom or comedy show than an actual drama series like the one I grew up with. Yes it's cute that they got a white guy and storylines are a bit different, but honestly, but it's just trying too hard, it's trying too hard to be cool and flashy and quite frankly I don't appreciate it.

I began watching it with a negative attitude as well, but one day, I jumped to an episode in the 40s and was hooked instantly.

I'm a huge fan of the original. This new one isn't so bad. Give it a try but don't compare it to the original. I like the addition of Benjamin. It's refreshing.

By the way, Li Jia Hang, who plays Er Kang, is probably the star out of the cast. His scenes are superb. I love that there's a fun aspect in EK/ZW's relationship in the new one.

It never hurts to try! This new one can't compare to the old one but it's not THAT bad.

No offense but I don like how the new Xiao yan zi looks. She look a bit weird, unnatural. I think it's due to her eyebrows. The make up artist made it too thick. It doesn't fit her though I know that it is drawn thick to make her look more mischievous.

I'll admit, this looks interesting because there's more comical elements to it, and although not historically accurate, at least it's entertainment. IMO, it's better than the 3rd season because the plethora of new actresses aren't just doing one season - they're doing all three from the very beginning so we have more times to get used to not only the new characters, but the actors and actresses portraying them. I look forward to watching this even though I still prefer the original.

The props definitely is much better than the original one,and the graphic is much nicer too,but I really dislike the excessive computer generated effects. And since I like the original version so much,I'll be biased I'm sure when I watch this lol. Somehow I felt the not so good quality filming for the original version made me absorbed into the show more and has more realistic feel to it~
