My bs interpretation: Your personal scribe is the internet.
The five fathoms represent the descent into the complications of adult life.
The lack of stars may be a reference to Andy Warhol's "fifteen minutes", or alternatively an admission that there are no markers by which to navigate (i.e. a free-form nontraditional adult life)
Or, as I interpret most of my dreams, it's a bunch of random elements thrown together in a random way, viewed from a random position in a random sequence. ;-)
