Guys go downhill like-wise faster. And so they are really trying to exaggerate the fact that its 19 years later, they are 36-37. The reason they look so old is most likely because the actors are already 20 something when playing 17 year olds, so if they only did a little make-up they would look no different. They cant leave the characters looking the same as when they did when they were 17 (being played by over 20 year olds)
LOL this just looks stupid because they've over down the make-up. Way too old for what their meant to be like 30 or something? But then again. They are all still young so perhaps if they did too much less of the make-up then they would still look the same. Maybe special effects will sort it out :)

I can't even comprehend why all of the men look ancient. Hermione and Ginny look mostly fine, but the men... they should be 37 years old, and they look like they're about to hit 55. -_- Ron looks horrid.

so in the magical world everyone ages in accelerated fashion. i'm 34 and i don't look that old. none of my friends look like that. leo dicaprio is 36 and he looks younger than what they did to dan radcliffe. i don't know what absurd ageism they are trying to pull here because all the guys look like they are in their 50s. at least ginny and hermione look about right.

I agree that they went a bit overboard with the makeup--mostly on Dan though. He looks like he's 50 haha. They did a great job with the others though, especially Bonnie. They look age-appropriate =)

I think that they way over did the males.... Bonnie looks fine and hermione looks the same except her hair looks really thin. The guys on the other hand look like their pushing late 40s not late 30s! Im kinda disappointed :(

I mean these are still just pictures and they may not look AS OLD as these pics make them look if you see them in the big screens. I'm glad they are at least trying to do this instead of getting a whole bunch of new ppl, i think its really interesting. Hermione's hair does look really thin, I think they should have just make her hair short and bobbed or long and braided. having it thin will make it look like she's balding.

The reason they look so old is most likely because the actors are already 20 something when playing 17 year olds, so if they only did a little make-up they would look no different. They cant leave the characters looking the same as when they did when they were 17 (being played by over 20 year olds)
