for those who havent realized this... whoever first made the instrumental version of this just took it straight from the movie and just took out the words in the movie and the song.... so if you were to actually go watch top gun and play this at the same time you see mavericks jet break the sound barrier which is at 0:09 and it should fit perfectly with the dogfight against Jester

On some DVD and laser disc players you can isolate the surround sound channels and pull tracks off them. It sounds like thats where this is from. Maybe pulled from the rear channels where there wouldn't be any dialog.

Ha, I see I'm not the only one on the face of the earth with the two-disc set that's been floating around on ebay every now and then. SFX and all, it's worth every penny. The one thing I'd really like is a clean version of the Viper dogfight music. It exists (it's even here on youtube) but the version on the cd has the sfx.
