  • hehe - i remember the LOOKS that Paula used to give, much les the elbows! Would not want to mess with her. She was around the academy quite a bit in the late 80s - early 90s

  • Love the video of Guro Dan and Guro Paula! Guro Paula used to put a hurting on a lot of us!

  • Dan & Bruce trained each other, right?

  • Mix Wing Chun & FMA u get a Bruce Lee i think...

  • Bruce + Dan >>> Lebron and Wade...LOL.

  • ,,,,,I LIKE THE WAY DAN TEACHES, HE EXPLAINED EVERY MOVES HAS A PURPOSE,,,,THX DAN

  • What the. . . .? Is that the elusive Paula Inosanto practicing with Dan? I've been to the academy 5 times and have never seen her.

  • pinoy pride :D

  • Say whatever you want...but a lot of us including myself would not have even heard of much less practicing many of the martial arts we do today without people such as Dan Inosanto bringing them to the forefront. He has done a lot for martial arts.

  • Pure gold.

  • One thing any serious martial artist should consider in his/her training is looking at other styles to find similarities. Guro Dan is one of the best at this, and he and bruce lee spend many hours doing so.

  • good stuff, cutting edge! pardon the pun.

  • jkdstolberg.jimdo.com/

  • I have respect for Dan Inosanto, and his contribution to the martial world as we know it, but to say that he "basically influenced every single martial art used in all practical fighting," is an embellishment to say the least. There were more forms of combat that pre-dated this man than I can even begin to mention. Having said that he has a vast array of knowledge those who train with him are fortunate.

  • but see i can't find a teacher out were im at so what can i do i really want to learn so what can i do thank you all

  • @SaInT1185 watch these videos with a friend and practice what is in them, self teaching is extremely valuable because you can know what you want to know and what works with your body

  • does anyone know is filipino martial arts easy to learn thank you all

  • @SaInT1185 Its not easy to learn. Its takes blood sweat and tears to learn the way of an eskrimador. We filipinos who made arnis are all satisfied that its being taught all over the world. This has been around for over years. Since the time of our ancestors who defeated Ferdinand Magellan and his fellow spaniards. Long live our lost king Lapu-Lapu!!

  • @SaInT1185 it all up toy you and your effort my friend im learning FMA now you got train hard to make learning easy.....

as you see it something to be recon with

  • @curtissleezewah, everyon is entitled to there opinions but refering to (inmy opinion) one of the best martial artists as a chink (and saying he is doing his student) is very uncalled for do you have any martial arts experience???? i have trained for several years in many systems and even now i still would not like to bump into guru inosanto nad challange him lol as he would own me, in short you should have more respect and think before you put such reductive comments.

    Sankkaku, great vid :)

  • Man, you can´t hit this guy unless he´s sleep. Impressive,

  • I studied in Carson in Guro Dan's back yard Gym- 1974- Most humble honor to have learned Kali from this man- at the time we did not have the wisdom to understand all the details of Master Dan's life with Bruce- The GYM was filled with shrines to Bruce there was a very heavy 300 LB bag which could be cranked into the room on an I-Beam crane- several barrels full of Rattan sticks - Kali is one of the few Arts which teaches with weapos from the first class or sessions-

  • master bruce jun fan li (li is the true spelling, lee spelling is for the benefit of gwai lo) and master dan inosanto are in a class that very few people in the modern martial arts era are. my uncle was one of the grandmasters of filipino martial arts that passed on hiss wisdom to master inosanto.

  • that's his wife Paula Inosanto!

  • actually, Bruce Lee taught Dan Inosanto the Jeet Kune Do. Im also filipino, and i'm not ashamed if Dan was the student not the teacher of bruce lee, however that is an honour having Bruce Lee as a teacher and having Dan one of the best Martial Art teacher since Bruce Lee's death.

  • In truth, and in all fairness to Dan. He did teach Bruce. Nunchaku, the Kicking Air shield, Kenpo concepts, and others. He was a great training partner to Bruce and a good training partner is very rare in MA. One can learn a great deal from a training partner.

  • @spadaydaga As we know .They grew and shared their love of Martial Arts. They ventured out to sample and emerse themselves in many many arts only to return and share thier understandings with eachother and thier students.Their personal arts were always evolving and never static. As teachers we learn and understand our arts deeper through the eyes of our students! Respect to all.

  • @spadaydaga what is the kicking air sheild?

  • @spadaydaga You are right, and I also get the sense (from reading the history) that Dan could have easily taken Bruce to the ground and pounded him. But he has respect for his teachers and he had respect for Bruce.

  • Best video series I own picked it like 20 yrs ago. Fave drills for throws, locks, walkouts, handcuffing.

  • this is Hubud Bubud and Panatukan drills in combination

  • Remember that the Filipinos have been mixing different martial arts for generations. MMA is not a new concept to them. If they find something that works better for them that what they were doing then they will adapt.

  • @Nuncrusher very true! Also no0tioce they practiced standing grappling because they couild not afford to be brought to the ground. Too many other opponents out there to kick them in the head .

  • I would agree with all but the statement Dan brought kickboxing to America. That is absurd.

  • my apology sir but certainly that is a mis guided information. FMA is everything that is incorporated as a whole and complete system, terms are different but they are incorporated as a whole. Kali is only part of FMA and silat is FMA gift from the past as part of the Malayan race. A lot of FMA styles to mention and our hopes is to integrate all of them as a whole system. Mapasalamaton! LSK

  • These are the greatest Kali lessons on the internet... Me and my cousin are practicing this and it's turned out well so far. Working on the speed more though.

  • Please reconsider you're opinion. Guru Dan Inosanto, who you referred to as "chink" as well as Bruce Lee basically influenced every single martial art used in all practical fighting. In Fact real street fighting is very heavily influenced by JKD and Philipino trapping is an AMAZINGLY effective martial art. Kickboxing was basically brought to American by Guru Dan. If you have any respect for martial arts of any kind at all then you should respect this man.

  • @williamhenkel tota;;y agree. The interesting thing is that during a seminar with Dan, Paula trained with us claiming that she wasn't a martial artist after putting us all to shame lol.

  • @CurtisSleezeWah all martial arts work in real ife martial arts of any kind can be used in real life if taught proper...

you fucking racist pick FMA is a great style to use

  • what are these from? I'd like to buy them.

  • is der part 4 ??? sankkaku45 is der part 4

  • best bad ass version of patty-cake I'll ever play

  • wow!!! way to advanced 4 me right now

  • this is not silat k...come in malay i show u calidas martial art.use big knief mean m

  • yea its a blend of Kali and silat its master inosantos oun sistem

  • @pauDur I'm sorry this is not silat. This is The filipino martial art called arnis :)

  • Are these the videos from Inosanto's Philipino martial arts series video taoes ?

    8 in all ?

  • Nice and really perfect techniques. Thanks anyway for posting.

  • perfect

  • more please!

  • This is great stuff.

  • Grandissimo.. Dan Inosanto!!!!

  • The biggest legend!

  • Holy cow! I shot and directed & edited these volumes! They were shot around 1986 or so!

Man these bring back memories - I did a few volumes, Jeff Imada was in them as well - I also did Jeff's Bali-Song video!

  • a classic!

  • thank you for this vidéo !
