  • Loved it, even though my ears just endured a hour long torture (new headset)!

  • The Slurping Sound - Legendary!!!

Make more of these.. Pretty Please~~! (。◕ω◕。)

  • excellent video man!!! my Japanese is about this level....this is the first time i see you explaining the masu form...but the other like the te form and others that you used you kind of don't explain clearly, but overall for people who are studying and who can recognize the patterns, is a great video...( is hard to explain i guess the whole thing) but is a great video man.

  • @alexleyva22

    Thanks for the support!

  • 愛しています!

I think it was really nice to listen to it, very enjoyable.

    For me at least, hehe.

    マギー先生が大好きです❤

  • 愛しています! =D

I'm going to do this lesson again in a few days to refresh everything :)

Thanks victor and maggie for this awesome lesson!

  • 愛しています。 ^ω^

  • ish da mas

  • this is a great video, but more text would have been REALLY useful,

unfortunately my Japanese is not that advanced :/

  • @passivenexus

More text than the blog? You gotta be kidding. Did you even click on the blog link?

  • @Gimmeaflakeman

ah! did not see that xD

    sorry xD

  • Holy crickey Victor! A 1 hour video lesson for free?!! Not only did you p'own youtube you made any teacher on youtube "not worthy." Thanks for all the free learning material!!!

  • Maggie かわいい!

  • i really enjoyed this vid lol but i had no clue it was an hour long XD sugoi ne

    thanks for posting

  • WOW 1 hour video clip( videoclip, I mean Movie!), I first thought: No, can't be 1 hour, must be a mistake by youtube. But damn. You showed youtube whose really incharge. LOL

  • Now you've gone and done it Victor. A ONE HOUR video. You are Abusing your privileges as a partner. What's next? A movie? A three hour documentary?

Joking aside, this was a great video. I knew a lot of it, but it was well presented, and you broke down all of the subtleties of those sentences. Thank you, and Maggie sensei.

P.S I'm also a big fan of "when Harry met Sally"

  • Thanks so much for all your hard work.

I did watch the entire lesson.. it was great,

I'm not sure how to spell ishitaimasu though. :|

  • Thanks for this!

I always seem to learn better through audio and listening while studying, idk, it just helps!

Definitely ripping this to my ipod!

  • Nice, I read the maggiesensei post on it while watching the video. Very informative, there's so much depth in the feelings department with the Japanese even though, traditionally, they've been regarded as "out of touch" with their emotions and hard faced about things. 愛しています!

  • Excellent vid!

  • Thank you, love this. Waiting for more of these videos :D

  • Whoa when i had 2 mins left my head was so tierd, wow.

  • @Degenskonto

LOL! Impressed you did it all in one sitting!

  • @Gimmeaflakeman Haha yeah, when im bored I usually "watch" some kind of sitcom or listen to music while doing some soft core gaming, so this vid was perfect, only had to listen! :P

Btw does Maggie always do that snoring sound?

  • One hour? Really? You gangsta!

  • Wow! This must have taken alot of time and effort!

    Thank you so much! :D

  • rofl dude you had me falling out of my chair in the first 30 seconds

my dogs make that sound too

  • 愛しています 有賀とございます

  • I am not sure if i did this correctly. =/

  • @Khadgare

    @Khadgare

    First half was good!

    愛しています。

    ありがとうございます。

  • I always have a hard time with "koto" in class. I never know when to use it - a.k.a. during my Japanese oral final.

  • I'm at 30 minutes, it's crazy late here. Favoriting, finishing tomorrow, and probably listening to it again. Out standing, thank you for putting so much time into this.

  • 長いビデオです。 でもつまらなくありません。

I found the video and lesson notes very easy to follow. I hope there will be more in the future!

    愛しています!

  • This is a very heavy and important subject. Thank you for covering it so well.

  • Long...but very informative.

  • Aishite imasu

  • Well that was interesting. I honestly don't think I'll remember half of this, so I will have to re-watch it or read the stuff on Maggie-sensei's site XD

I feel silly for writing this XD : あいして ます!

  • Life with love sounds like "i know how to say taxi"

  • I think this sentence:

    あなたが信用できない

should be understood better as: "You can not (do) trust". Someone who can not be confident or faithful or handle trust is someone who cannot be trusted. But in English this is best rendered "I cannot trust you". So, "anata/you" is the subject in Japanese, but "I" in English.

  • This is absolutely brilliant. I have been dieing for something even remotely close to a read along like this. Thank God for youtube.

  • This is amazing Victor. Good job.

  • Oooooh, cheers for the video! Looked on Maggies lesson and this is very useful! Unrelated, but as you're my online sensei would you recommend learning Kanji or sticking with Romanji for beginners?

    Also....Arashi fan!?

  • @MoominMeerkat

Learn hiragana and katakana and the most basic kanji asap. The sooner the better!

  • @MoominMeerkat If you want to learn Hiragana you can come to my channel. I have 3 videos on how to write in Hiragana. I still need to upload some more videos on how to write.

    @Gimmeaflakeman 愛してます!

  • this is epic... this is very helpful, thanks a lot

  • i think people should know 21:40 to 22:05...

  • I really love how you made this to read along with the blog. Thank you! It's so helpful and I hope you can post more of these in the future!! :)

  • Maggie is so cute!

  • マギーさんがだい好きです。

I don't know why Maggie never talks on camera. She has such a cute voice.

  • Thank you so much Victor & Maggie! Aishite Imasu! n.n

  • Watched the whole hour. Aaaah

  • very good video, not just because it was about love but it really went into different aspects which i found very informative. good job

  • Aishitimasu. ( I don't know if I've written it right. )

  • 愛してます!

  • Great lesson vic!!! ...... Please do more lessons like this

  • Great video. Its nice to listen and read the words at the same time, and also hear the right pronunciation of the word.(altho it was abit too fast to follow sometimes, but thats probably because im not that advanced yet :D) 5/5

  • maggi sensei isnt sleeping with her eyes open in the beginning is she?

  • I'm a total moron but I want to learn Japanese so badly. I'm almost 15 years old and next year when I turn 16 my sis promised me we would go on holiday to Japan. So I have to study really hard. Thank so you very much for you nice videos ;)

  • @quarantineinmypants

    I understand, man. Next time.

  • hey victor! i wanted to say thanks again for putting up this lesson on LOOOOOOVE! ^_^ i had looked at it the other day when it was first posted, but it didn't have the audio to go with it. i think that really added a lot, especially for me so i could better practice the pronunciation. again, thanks so much!! you too, maggie-sensei!

  • The hour long video felt more like a class, so it was nice to watch :)

The only suggestion I would have is to maybe show what you are looking at from the MaggieSensei website, to kind of help us go along with it or maybe caption to what is being said, because sometimes somethings are hard to hear ^^

  • @MochiNyoki

    Thanks for the feedback!

  • AN HOUR?!?!

  • @Emily9485

    A 2 word comment!?!?!

  • @chimera15

    Thanks, Chimera15!

  • 愛しています--せんせい, can you explain why 'no' is often used at the end of questions?

  • @creepyk1d it's like saying "don't you wanna have lunch with me?" it sounds weird in english, but actually in spanish it's very common. It is like giving the other person a chance to say no or chotto....

  • @MyHugestFan

Yeah, pretty much. I'd agree with that. It's a soft request/invitation.

  • 愛しています--せんせい, can you explain why 'no' is often used at the end of questions?

  • めっちゃ長いビデオw

  • @skanatani

    Perhaps my longest yet!

  • This is really cool. It's like a radio talk show on the subject of Love.

  • @yuichituba

LOL. Yuichituba! PM me your telephone number! I had a collab idea but had no way to get in touch with you ASAP! The moment passed... but maybe next time.... if I have a phone contact....

  • @Gimmeaflakeman え? But I live in America. I have Skype, you added me, right?

  • What the crap! ONE HOUR!!!??? すごいっすね、先輩。

I'll have to sit back with some popcorn for this one.

  • What the crap! ONE HOUR!!!???

Great long lesson. Thanks a lot!

  • @Artemisth

Thanks for watching, Artemisth. Hope you learned something.

  • i have nothing to do so i'll watch it now. It would be less tiring if you showed your face instead of a cat statue for the whole video

  • DAMN!!! well worth the watch! 愛しています。 Now this is a lesson!

    Great work!!!

  • An hour long? I guess I'll watch this later when I have more time. (:

  • 21:00 dirty minded :) so true

  • Omg, what a dog :DDD Love it ^__________^

  • aishite imaaasu!!

i REALLY appreciate these audio lessons. reading a lot only gives me a headache and i can't remember things in the end, but i learn very easily and fast when actually listening to something instead.

i understand that it's not possible to have these long lessons very often, but i really really enjoyed it. thank you so much, maggiesensei and victorsensei!

  • I love maggie!

  • 愛しています!今日もっと暇のときがあうる。

  • I am a beginner with Japanese .. probably know nothing .. but ur videos are very helpful

Thank you for you awesome videos, ur the best !

  • Aishite imasu, I did not mind the length. It was like I was listening to my favorite radio program.

  • kw: 愛しています XD

    Great vid

  • Ty victor for this very informative and great video. Appreciate it!

  • why is the dog burping in the beginning that much

    ?

  • @Blacky2000x lol it's not burping but it's because the way bulldogs head are shaped, friends had an English and a French one (maggie is a French bulldog) because of the intense breading their heads are deformed on the inside and ther airways are to small for them so they snore like this but they are actually getting less air than they need but it sounds cute and as far as I know isn't realy dangerous to the animal.

anywho excellent video Victor but need to sitdown and relax to watch it in full.

  • @XarraX9009

Yep! You pretty much nailed it. Yeah, I don't expect everyone too watch or rather listen to all of it at one sitting!

  • holly crap, one hour! impressive man

  • @CaliBoyinJapan

It's till shorter than a real classroom lesson!

  • aishite imasu!

    Great lesson
