@CokieTheClownMods If you have a boot size over an 11, unless it's a snub nose design, you should definitely try a wide board. I'd shoot for a waist on it that's at LEAST, 26.
it is the fuckin shit, i just got it, first time ridin it , i loved it. Great in the park, but also very fast and really precise in the turns. This is the one you want!
dual camber is reverse between the feet (loose), and slight camber (stable) from the feet to tips. it keeps it "catch-free", but the tips push down for stability. (i'm working on a page for our site with the lowdown) -mulch
Besides the benefit of the LowRize Rocker and a blended radial sidecut, the DH2 also has a higher level of carbon stringers in it & uses a thinner, lighter topsheet that Ride calls the Membrain topsheet. While this board should be pretty good for all types of riding, the slightly softer Machete might be a little bit better choice for the more buttery, jibby type riding (rails, boxes, etc...) in my opinion... TEO
Both boards will butter great: The Kink is super soft flex & the Machete has the "pre-flexed" rockered shape to help. The Ride LowRize rocker is flat between the bindings then kicked up from the end of the inserts to the tips. V Rocker from Burton features a center rocker, then kicks up again near your feet.
The Kink is much softer and comes in either reverse or regular camber. The kink is more of a rail specific board where as the machete is more of a all around park board. The machete is considerably stiffer than the kink but because of it's reverse camber you can still press it out pretty well. If you're looking for something in between this check out the Crush, its softer than the machete but you can still hit jumps.
I took a bunch of runs on the Machete and thought that the board rode SICK in all types of riding and conditions. It does have some carbon strips in it, which makes it a bit stiffer than the Kink & super responsive. The extra stiffness also will help keep the board stable in choppy snow, as well as in landing some of the bigger jumps that you might come across in the park...(MORE)
...The Machete also features Ride's LowRize Rocker reverse camber design, which makes it feel real catch free & also helps out a bit with your riding on boxes & getting buttery. I think that you'll dig either one, but I really thought that the Machete was great... TEO
Hi, silly question, since this board is a true twin, does that mean that I can have my front foot on either end of the board?

It has carbon in it that's supposed to make it easier to ollie than regular rockers.

i think the regular "machette" is just reverse, and the "le machette" must be dual/hybrid.
EasternBoarder89 2 years ago
so performance wise in park
the machete is better than the DH2 to your preference
im mainly looking to hit alot more jumps this year and just a little bit of boxes and rails.
im comming off of having a 08 burton bullet
i was wondering if it would be softer or stiffer.
im geussing softer though cause the bullet was supper hard to butter on.
TotallyInsaneShane 2 years ago
the DH2 that is
TotallyInsaneShane 2 years ago
btw iv been checking out the DH and the new DH2
i was wondering if the only differnce is the rocker in the DH2
and are they gonna come in Wide versions for '10?
haha and ONE more thing
is this a good board for both jibbing (soft flex) and kickers (PopStix)?
thanks again

i am definaltly leaning towards the machete now
one more question though
which on is better for buttering.
since in ohio the runs are only 30 seconds long i try to make them last longer by buttering and finding the small mini shreds
and also wats the difference between the LowRise Rocker of Ride and the V Rocker or Burton?
thanks for all your help

ok im stoked on both this and the kink.
so which one has a softer flex?
i want one that will kill the whole park
boxes,kickers, and the works.
il also mostly be riding hardpack here in ohio
