Why are we doing matam? In Quran, ALLAH swt says in aya "QUL LA ASALAKUM ALAIHIM AJRAN ILLAL MAWADDATAL FIL QURBA" ALLAH does not want anything in return ajar e risalat except for your love for ahel e bait which does not have any limit. It means when Ahel e bait are happy you must also feel their happiness and when they are in sorrow you must feel their pain. In Quran, ALLAH says: Islam is Deen e fitrat and mourning and matam is in fitrat (nature). Rasul ALLAH pbuh cried for Imam Hussain (a.s)
