there is some truth in that statement actually. He said tom STARTED boxcar as a side project without letting mark know about it. Mark featured in that song after the band was established & everything. Its also very true that the formation of boxcar damaged their relationship & contributed to the breakup of blink 182.

Then one day his agent called Mark and Travis and said Tom quit the band and changed his number. As for Boxcar Racer, Tom started it and asked Travis to be the drummer.
