I heard a live version of this song first. Gotta say, I like the live versions better. Too much polish and production on this. And the looped human beatbox turned out a little weird on the official version, not as cool and raw as the live takes. The doubled vocals on the chorus are not my thing either. I really like this song: though, it does feel like there's a shift in KT's songwriting, which is always nice because it shows a songwriter has moved on in their life a little since their last album. I love KT - she was probably the distinct singer-songwriter I liked (Eye To The Telescope, WHAT an album, even to a twelve year old girl). Here she sounds a bit like Alanis Morissette on her album "Under Rug Swept," Alanis in a happy place. I like. I like a lot.
