Tomorrow morning, My 93 Honda Accord EX will role up 360,000 miles... I have had to put a new radiator in it about 50,000 miles ago, and then an alternator... I've redone the suspension, and had to have some seals and gaskets replaced, but nothing major! Get this.... this cars air conditioner has never been touched... not recharged.... not anything ... it will freeze me out! I am amazed with this car.
One thing people neglect on these is checking valve lash. The high amount of valve noise indicates you may need to check valve lash. Should be done every year or so. All you need are basic hand tools, feeler guage set, and a new valve cover gasket. Loose valve lash will eventually burn a valve and cause the need for a head rebuild.
@juancobravenom i am not running synthetic. i am fully aware that changing your oil every 10k is bad. with my other car, 1975 corvette, i change it every 3k. I think you miss understood the message i put out: you can neglect a honda and it will still treat you great. you are a real fucking dick man.
it maybe taking the beating now, but if you actually take care of it the way it is supposed to, then it will last longer, what you are doing is just stupid, if i am offending you in anyway i am sorry, but i am just speaking the truth.
@Airshot06 I'm wondering what you did with your 92 Honda.....Tomorrow morning, My 93 Honda Accord EX will role up 360,000 miles...
That's normal high-mileage Honda engine noise, a minor valve adjustment may help it but be sure you know what you are doing or it could get worse, don't worry, shes still got 200,000 miles left in her.
If it is a V-TEC engine then it is normal 'lost motion assembly' noise.
@mkm230 thats a bad choice i made mine was a 92 and had 232k on it. got 850 fro it asked 1000 originally paid 450 for it it was banged up on the front @ that time. put almost 1500 into by the time it sold
sounds normal except the exhuast leak, i had the same car and color when i was in high school in 98! the loud engine sound is normal on hondas when they are cold.
my husband has a honda accord and it is a 1993 and it will not start. It just went dead on him one day without warning. Well, it will turn on but will not crank enough to start.. it is not the starter, distributer cap or ignition coil. It is also not the filter, or engine. It is not getting any fire up to start the engine but it turns on and then stalls but never starts. Any suggestions for a 93 Honda?
I believe you may have a dead fuel pump. If the car will turn over but not stay running, that's a sign of a problem with the fuel system. Check the fuel filter and fuel pump.
@lovedbyall28 check out Davidsfarm's channel and type in Honda accord then click the video that says "Honda accord distributer repair" there is a part in the distributor that causes it to run perfect one day and never run again the next. It is a spark chip. Fairly easy fix. Just not cheap.
nah man thats normal. l ive in canada, and my 1995 ex with vtec sounds the same way. once it warms up the lifters and valves expand, and the tapping sound goes away.
nice car man has the car ever givin you any trouble because i am looking at one with 140000 on it would you reccomend

It was 20 degrees outside and you say it started RAINING afterward?? That is the real miracle here, since water freezes at 32 degrees.
Never mind the amazing cold-start power of your Honda, the fact you were able to defy the laws of science and meteorology is what is astounding!
