shouldn't airplane engines be able to handle birds. i don't know if you realize this but birds fly. i would think that would be one of the first things that engineers would think of when designing an airplane engine. but what do i know. i guess the chances that airplane and birds are both in the sky at the same time are pretty low.

Weve been devising systems to scare away birds from airports alot recently. Engine building has been more bird resistant but there is really no material that you can build engiens out of and still be impervious to bird strikes.

What about the crash in Buffalo that killed about 50 people last week? Does god choose which flight to save and which not to? If so, it's quite a partial god you got there.
