  • "but i'm gonna show you, baby, that a woman can be tough." :P

  • meu nome é sabrina tenho 7 anos e curto muitooo janis joplin !!!!!!!!!!!!!

comecei a gostar por causa da minha irmã q curti rock meta!!!

    sabrina

  • muitoo loko janis joplinnnn

  • The best female vocalists for 40 years ago, Janis Joplin and Sandy Denny, didn't meet the standards of a photo model, but as soon as they began to sing the audience forgot time and place and burst into tears. In intensity and emotional power they formed a class of their own. They reached the essential.

  • straight to my favorites! I thought Id heard everything this woman gave to us but,,,,nope,,,,,,this is something I havent heard before. I love these little rarities. Janis is the queen and I thank you for sharing this with the world. xx Subbed you and hugs to you ! PEACE "Jenny"

  • So tragic.

  • who would dislike this ><

  • IN MY EYES SHE IS BEUTIFUL..

  • great you are awesome...dont worry there is a supestar to replace you...haley reinhart is just doing that

  • @IoneImanIband You, sir, are a wonderful person. I appreciate your comment.

  • I'll take it, just give me it <3

  • rock is not for women

  • @FistMad You sir, are an idiot - signed: a woman.

  • @FistMad You sir, are stupid!

  • @FistMad Did you even watch this video? It might have changed your mind.

  • @Epeolatry1 did you ever listen to led zeppelin, rolling stones, dire straits.... etc. ? it might change your mind

  • @FistMad Funny, because yes. Yes, I have listened to and own albums by all those artists. And I believe a singer like Janis Joplin stands beside them as brilliant examples of musicians.

  • @Epeolatry1 well, what can I say in this case, different brains

  • @FistMad heart was a good band, with a great woman guitarist. she could play you under the table i'm quite sure.

  • @happyoppositeday quite stupid logic, she could play me ofcourse, my profession is not guitarist, but yet i wonder could she play Eddie Van Halen, Steve Vai, Mark Knopfler, Jimmy Page etc. i realy don't think so :)

  • @FistMad well then dont mind me when i say you're logic is quite flawed as well. just because nancy can't play like jimmy page doesnt mean that she wasnt a true rocker. in fast if i were using your logic i could say "rock isn't for white people" because of the fact that jimi hendrix was definitely the best guitarist there ever was.

  • @happyoppositeday dude or lady, there is no "the best guitarist" , try learning that.. for god sake:( there are only good guitarists and noobie. Well for jimmy he is a good guitarist, a excelent one, but for example let's take eddie van halen, he is an extremely good one as well. eddie can't play jimmy hendrix but jimmy couldn't play eddie aswell.. that's the shit and jimmy isn't one of the realy best in technique as jeff beck for example, he is simply an original that developed a new style

  • @FistMad all im saying is you dont know what you're talking about... trust.

  • @happyoppositeday you trust me, i know all about it :) but nvm i don't think this has any sense

  • She is not just singing the song. She is inside the song. That is the best way I can describe it. Inside the song.

  • Thee J are always remember Janis Joplin , Jimy hendrix , Jim morrision.

  • The rasp in her voice was something she did intentionally, it wasn't naturally a part of her speaking voice. Listen to her talk on interviews and she has no rasp at all. Great talent to be able to put that scratch in her voice at will.

  • In every word and note she sings, tears something from top to bottom through my heart.

  • Goddess.

  • every1 one that listens to an alternative to the mainstream they say this is way better than the mainstream. dont be butthurt just talk about her. Because the mainstream dont talk about janis, they talk about their artist. so talk about yours. :)

  • I LOVE the raspyness in her voice! Janice Joplin FTW!

  • legend!

  • Janis Joplin was not generally attractive, but her voice made up for it. Today, its the exact opposite. No one can sing but they're famous cause they look good. Im not exactly a HUGE fan of Janis Joplin, but this is a fucking sad fact.

  • @Th3RantDoctor I completely agree

  • @Th3RantDoctor Janis was beautiful in a lot of different ways.

  • your comment is unnecessary & unnattractive.

  • See Vanessa Amorosi`s cover of this it is fantastic! She is from Australia. It is on Youtube. She is dressed in a sixties costume.

  • awww man I just love her voice!!!!!!

  • Great video ♪ ♫♫

  • This rendition is as good, or even BETTER than the one on "Cheap Thrills". Wish the video was here!

  • I Used Too Love Metal, But That's a Awesome Singer, :D

  • You've taken my hole heart - baby -

  • stone, etheridge? fuking kidding me. this is the real deal. Janis baby. Don' t forget it.

  • she ias awesome

  • *****

  • Sad she used drugs. R.I.P.

  • @VogueVampire Who didn't in the 60s and 70s???

  • what is there to say....?

  • Listen to Joss Stone's and Melissa Etheridge's version- orgasmic!

  • janis joplin: the power of drugs!!!

  • @marco131082 Shut the fuck up man

  • I <3 you Janis!!!

  • She Didnt forget the Lyrics she ws just working the Song

  • I love it!<3

  • I'm in love !

  • my blue girl<3

  • R.I.P Janis, you will always be missed, byt thank you for leaving ur music behind so for all could enjoy

  • I wonder if all the people that got to see her live in concert knew that they were witnessing greatness and a legend -in- the- making....I sure hope the big budget movie they are gonna film will do her justice cuz she's one of a kind and deserves nothing less and all these so-called singers today need to pay close attention cuz THIS IS HOW IT'S DONE!!!!!!:):):)

  • I remember her on the late show. She spit and looked dirty. Her voice was gravely. She was too raw.

  • @tina21701 Cocaine is a hellva drug....

  • @rockwilder0

    I think it was H

As raw as she was, I was still awed.

  • @rockwilder0 gotta love it(; lol

  • fucking shit, she is hot! i lived on her street in SF!

  • this is the real shit :D

  • The greatest women ever! She had alot to tell the the world :)

  • Can't believe someone put dislike on this song !

    FU Haters ! :@

  • BADFUCKINGASS...thats all I got to say..!!!

  • R.I.P. Janis. I still love you and miss you.

  • @ 0.25..I love that picture....

  • great voice,

"Take another little piece of my heart now":X

  • You know you got it WOOOOOOOOOOOW!!!!! if it makes you feel good

  • THANK YOU FOR JANIS....GREAT MIX!!

  • dirty drugged hippie

  • if janis where alive today. she would say " don't worry about it " after all she did say that.

  • janis love you!!!!!

  • just LOVE IT,,,AND,,,,TAKE IT!!!

  • For a contemporary version that is true to the original view the you tube video of Crystal Bowersox and Frankie May before she was on AI. Performed without a full band, just Crystal on quitar and Frankie on bass.

  • When Janis sings it tears your insides apart. You really feal it. Music nowadays is soulless. Not all, but most. If its not then you've never heard it in most cases.

  • @11marylena "tears your insides apart" yes!

  • hannah montana.- THIS IS MADNESS... janis joplin.- MADNESS? I'M JANIS JOPLIN BITCH! then she kicks her hahaha

  • Yes and she would still be alive today if it wasnt for drugs? Who;s an asshole?

  • Who knows where she would end up, but awesome just the same. JANIS I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU> FROM THE 28 Club.

  • @williamcahan the 27 club :)

  • I want to see someone do a hopped-up, rock version of this song kinda like how Nirvana covered Love Buzz by Shocking Blue. Kurt added that sweet guitar lick & solo and made that song awesome. Imagine how cool this song would be if done in that fashion. It's already cool as it is.

  • Maybe...but right now noone...and i mean it...noone has the voice of lady joplin...she with aretha and gloria...and some others were the top...even if it's been covered in a rock version the song will seem to be empty...her voice...so great voices make songs great...imagine it with any voice you wat (not jagger or plant or ozzy!!! those guys can do it in their own way!!! )...you'll realize that noone can sing it that way!

  • @SalandFindles You want to see a "rock version" of one of the greatest rock classics??? Well, if you really want it - if you want raw, primal, glorious, classic rock n roll, if you want the very definition of the word 'rock' - try clicking 'Play' on the video above :-P

  • where is this druggie now?

  • @gmrief Pretty dead n rotten i recon.

  • @A55ma57er she was rotten when she was alive LOL

  • @gmrief She died decades ago. Where is she now? On the radio, in people's homes, hearts, and collective consciousness. Where the hell are you? On the internet being a hateful asshole on youtube. Not much of a comparison.

  • Fuck the radio. Maintstream plays dont matter, longevity matters. Youd never believe how old I am, saying I consider Janis Joplin and Grace Slick heroines. They made such strides for women in the musical industry, as well as good music. The crap that this generations growing up on wont be around in 20, 30, 50 years... But this is gonna live as long as we do, and as long as our kinds hafta listen to it in the car. Now, if only Nixon woulda done that acid.... haha

  • THIS IS SUCH A GAY SONG!!!!!!! FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @thisisisgay...HEY LOOK ITS JUSTIN BIEBER GUYS HE'S RIGHT HERE...HE EVEN SAYS HIS NAME IS GAY.

  • @thisisisgay your gay ass hole.

  • In celebration of chicks with hairy armpits....the queen of anti hygiene herself...Janis!!

  • Awesome sound!!

  • Take another little piece of my heart now, baby.

  • @LadyLennon1983 BREAK IT!

  • Dayum she looks fine in the first pic it shows

  • ___Check my interpretation of this song on Serbian version of Got Talent. Only type "Ja imam talenat Ognjen Vuletić, 14 godina" (COPY/PASTE) and you can watch it. Thanks__________

  • wanker

  • It didn't sound like the one on the radio because sometimes she forgot the order of the lyrics because she was baked...either way...it's great stuff...much better than the rap crap and country pop that is out now. :)

  • So true!

  • GRANDE JANIS " TOMA OTRO PEDAZO DE MI CORAZON SI ESO TE HACE SENTIR BIEN "

  • @JetKobayashiZala

the comparation with that crap called music (rap) has no sense ! even when she was stoned she was great ...we talk about JANIS JOPLIN here !

  • OH MY GOD! SHE'S GREAT...

  • PEDAZITO DE MI CORAZON...

  • @JetKobayashiZala I'm a real rap fan, but more so a great music fan, and i couldnt agree more. This is real music!

  • who else sings this song? cos this version doesnt sound like the one i heard on the radio...

  • This is Janis, but I believe this is her without bbhc.

  • @acdcrocks432 It is. From that era we knew the "real" voices.

  • @acdcrocks432 Nah its BBHC, the Kozmic band uses trumpets, saxophones and a keyboard, its also more upbeat with the Kozmic

  • @helloadios12 Actually Dusty Springfield also does a great version of the song. It's not as good as Janis, but it's different and it's also good. I personally just decided to buy both cd's ;) Dusty's version is more resigned, where Janis' is desperate. Both are wonderful (they both have great voices and the tune itself is of course glorious), so there's no reason to choose one over the other - even if Janis IS the definitive ;)

  • @helloadios12 Faith Hill sings it also.

  • @helloadios12 /watch?v=ZyESly5yWQ4 this is cool

  • @helloadios12 faith hill does a version of it and emma fraklin was the origonal recording artist

  • @helloadios12 There's also Duffy who sings it.

  • @ninaESM Duffy needs 2 back off, this song should be left alone, Janis even redid this song encase you didn't know. But Janis did it right!

  • @helloadios12 Faith Hill sings this song also.. that may be the version that you have heard..

  • @helloadios12 you're right this song was not written by Janis

in fact has been covered by too many singers! :)

the original version it's not quite famous, so almost everybody use to think that

    it's a Janis' song... u.u

  • @Chino2508 it isn't a Janis' song?

  • @Chino2508 sorry, like what, are you absolutely nuts here? The song was originally done by Big Brother and the Holding Company, who had Janis as lead singer, about 1965, The song itself is not in dispute, but there is a folk song, appalacian, I believe, that might be a forerunner of the song, but this is typical of well known songs and in not way meant to be detrimental. The song by Janis is definitive, it is a masterpiece.

  • @helloadios12 Erma Franklin originally sings it

  • @helloadios12 The Classic versions are from: Erma Franklin, Janis Joplin and recently Halley Reinhart

  • @helloadios12 I have heard Faith Hill do it.

  • @helloadios12 You heard Faith Hills version probably from circa 1990...

  • This song kicks ass! Janis is phenomenal. As others have already said here, there is and never will be anyone better!

  • oplin was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995, and was given a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2005. Among the artifacts at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum Exhibition are Joplin's scarf and necklaces, her 1965 Porsche 356 Cabriolet with psychedelically-designed painting

  • One of the greatest singers of alllll time. Incomparable talent. Way ahead of her time. Beautiful tortured generous soul.

  • only woman!

  • it's one of my favourite songs .. janis is great !!

  • wow .. janis is amazing .. wish i could have seen her live :)

  • the best female singer of the whole rock's history!!!!

  • wonderful enthrallinfg song sung by an unforgetble shining angel!!

  • FUCK YEAH!!!!!!

  • Good version. Thanks for posting.

  • Ha ha! thanks for rating!! lol
