@NoemiBarberio - It was a one- off, but who knows what the future holds. It was so surprisingly well received that an encore may be in order one of these days.
@Sudo759 - Glad you liked it, and oh god NO! :-) Cyrus was just being cute, and in no way implying that he was going to try to wrap his fingers around that beast.
@Steedonline - Lamia is on the greater, but not immediate list. I'd say don't expect it before 2013 :-) We're going to do a few things you might not expect first!
The best so far. You folks play it with high skill and a lot of love. And the choices for the songs couldn't fit in any better with what I would have chosen. Love the surprising addition of the accordion player and the great touch of having the keyboardist "vanished into air" as the main character of the song did. Nice.
@crodley - A response like that is everything and more than we hoped for when conceiving the project. Thanks joining us on this wild ride, & stay tuned in a couple of months :-)
@jimguitarfan - Thank you for watching, and I'm thrilled that the choice of having an accordion solo in the song (which I thought whilst recording would be very controversial) has been so well received!
@franceneqtu Thank you. It is indeed very deceptive - when I first learned this a couple years back, I almost gave up! It is very much more complex than you initially realise. Chester played it beautifully, as only he can.
If you are especially interested in the drumming on this, have a look on my channel - I posted a full length video of me playing the drum part a few months ago - same footage / audio as Cyrus has used here.
@Raziel1226 - That means the world to me, thank you. This was always one of my favorite tracks, & it was really fun to tell it like the fantastical story it is.
@tyfgjfgjfgjgfj - Technically, both "Absent Friends" & "Horizons" are 5 man stuff, but to answer what you're really asking, while I'm not quite sure which our next release will be, it will be off of the Lamb :-)
@KindMitHirn Thank you! I would love to be able to say 'yes I did', but alas my skills are limited, and I will confess that this is yet another example of Cyrus' brilliant video editing - he has mirror imaged one of the 'drummers'.
I can confirm that drumming along with yourself is surprisingly difficult - it's hard to get tit all tight. Just shows how amazing Phil and Chester were.
There were two drummers in our Firth video btw - but no one noticed :-( Not helped by me wearing same shirt!
Fantastic and easily the best iGenesis video so far, IMO. Love the comic book format and the whole video production.. well I can't imagine how many hours went into it but you've done an amazing job. All the instrumentals are right there... tight and sounding true to the original. I thought Ron's vocals were superb.. he sounds a bit 'huskier' on this one .. more Gabriel-like. Russell's guitar and bass playing are superb..
@GrayhenTor - Thanks so much :-) I put probably 150 or so hours into this beast! I can't imagine what the Cage is going to cost me, but look for it around 2015 :-) But really, I'm glad you liked it.
@amishimul105 - Thanks :-) I had a wide assortment of titles strewn about the table that made me smile, & most of them didn't get into the shot clearly. Inside that title must be a performance of "It's Raining Men"...
That looks like an iGenesis T shirt. Do you guys have an online shop? And a Fugitive t?! It's a great video guys, but this one was all about the shirts for me! Really great though srsly.
@ChannelUsernameable - No shop, I'm afraid. Those shirts were made for the recent band meetup in Ontario between Ron, Alex & Cyrus and were, frankly, too expensive to produce to be commercially viable but I'm glad you like it! The Fugitive shirt was a gift from Cyrus' uncle in the 80s.
Superb cover. Love the use of CP-70 electric grand piano sample, and the flute samples used. Similar to the And Then There Were Three Tour version of the piece. Lead singer's voice is similar to Peter's. The keyboardist's Fugitive shirt really completes the Banksian look.
@krissyrose14 - Thanks so much! I was interested to see if anyone would pick up the pedigree of making that a flute solo. No surprise that it was you :-)
@cyrusrua From listening to the original piece, the ARP2600 sound Tony created sounds a lot like a flute. So it makes sense to use a real flute sample in this.
Fantastic video, well worth the wait (don't get us used to long waits though) Incredible how you managed to convince Russell to show his face : P The accordion addition was quite a surprise.
@hyperboreal - I wish I hadn't, he's much better looking than the rest of us. As for the wait, I think there will be a couple of more releases this year, and next year will be nothing but waiting with spectacular epics at the end :-)
Well done guys, the video and audio production is just amazing. Great playing by all involved. You have one hell of a channel going here. Standing ovation from Spain.
After all the obstacles you fellows made it....nice one! Great playing that honors the original song plus mixup that does judgement for the players not to mention videoproduction...Two thumbs and five starts for this one!
Ps. Have to say that the harmonica came straight behind the corner- fun idea:)
Fantastic Cover Guys!!
