  • omg i love it

  • @Bunkers101 thx this one turned out good

  • cool engine

  • i was just wondering if you know of anyone who squeezed out more than 50hp on these motors and installed it on a street legal motorcycle?? awesome job by the way on the build.

  • sounds amazing!

  • lol

    air colled

  • How do you keep the exhaust from breaking the manifold or breaking the bolts off in the head or just cracking the head? These engines are fragile in our trade, and we've been lucky to get one to last 6 months.

  • i must ask why only 3,800 rpm? you would think a nice kohler engine like that could go near or above 6k?

  • @superfunnyman123 The class this one pulls in is limited to governor controlled at 3800 rpm.

  • Thats realy nice engine! Sounds awesome :)

  • nice ,real nice

  • i have a 12hp kohler on my cub cadet 100 and im wantin to put a bigger cam in it, where could i get a hold of one at?

  • Do you guys fab and sell the pipe. It would be KILER on my Cub Cadet UTV. 27hp Kohler. Shoot me a reply ether way. Its awesome

  • where in the world did you get that air cleaner, i cant find anything that size

  • @jeff091796 it's a hypercharger, pick one up at any cycle parts house

  • @LoneTreePuller k thanks

  • Go to midwest super cub. net they have tons of parts for the kholer engines

  • @dartcrzy71 Lakota Racing, Vogel, Mid West Super Cub, Kerber Machine all good places to snag aftermarket parts from & there are others who specialize in just cams too.

  • how would you make a 20 hp kohler v twin bored 30 over make good hp at 4000 rpm

  • @cublover128 well im making 45 hp with a 18 hp v twin at 4500.... also i got about 4200 in the motor.. mines bored .020 over.

  • Hi is this just a shop exaust just wondering whats that going to do to the belts on a clutch get soft and separate won`t they , Sweet runner though.

  • awesome

  • were did u get the parts please reply

  • @MxRaCeR85b all the parts used inside & outside the engine are factory bolt together parts that u can get from a kohler dealer.

  • @LoneTreePuller oh, not all the outside parts are genuine kohler, that header & that air cleaner are not lol

  • wouldn't mind having this on my mini bike=p

  • Looks and sounds GREAT... Do you build for other people. How can I getahold of you?

  • The Kohler command pulling engine i built is set for 4500 RPM

  • Very Very Impressive! Good job!

  • that is a sick sound man i have a lawn tractor for pullling with a 12hp kohler and it is sweet....wish i had that engine in it tho.

  • looks like step tube headers too, that should help build even more torque.

  • Sounds like a v8 :-P

  • sounds like a harley

  • Comment removed

  • @fordman1112 yeah... only quieter

  • hey i'm just curious what all did you do to it

  • whats the deal with the blower? is that an actual belt drive super charger or is it decoration? where would you find something like this? or did you make it? But great engine, i think kohlers are one of if not the best small engines.

  • @gibsonman5 It doesn't have a blower. That's an air intake

  • Off the charts AWSOME. Nothing beats a Kohler engine.

    Is it modified a 20hp?

  • damn that thing sounds nice!! i need one :P

  • @pedekiller thanks!

  • u need dual stacks instead of a single nice engine though

  • @NJSPredneck not according to the dyno sheets, 2 individual pipes hurt tq band

  • @LoneTreePuller did you tune the length of pipe into the y? probably do better with dual carbs so you can get the most out of both cylinders instead of a compromise

  • @turtlemann14 That header we didnt tune, was mainly built for good flow & yet maintain clearance for the dyno coupler on the crank & to exit out the 82 series side panel in a specific locale.

  • how do u make it run that good with the stock cam??

  • @Joeyad4 dyno tests & plenty of engines built to gain more experiance.

  • is that all the originial cams and stuff or is it upgraded

  • @Joeyad4 our local group only allows unaltered factory parts for the engine manufacturer so there are no aftermarket parts in my engines

  • I didn't know you could run a command without the cooling shroud like that. Does it run hot?

  • @zhmapper Naw, these aluminum engines run cooler & we can do several back to back passes down the track b4 getting concerned

  • I got A ? for you . I jost rebuilt a kohler k181 30 over. It has chrome rigs how kong should it take to break them in. I have ran it for maybe 20 min and its blowing oil? I know the rings are spaced right. Can you help

  • @BroadHead937

all engines do that. hopefully you honed the cylinder before you put new rings in? if not, the rings will just slide over the glaze.

  • Thanks Shnitzl! This engine just took home another big win last weekend, still waiting for my "Engine Builder" award from the driver!

  • that kohler is a work of art!

  • also my friends tell me that my big ass exhuast was making me lose horse power

  • how would it make you loose power?

  • i dont know my friend is pretty fucking stupid some times so i dont ever listen to him im usualy right when we start fighting over right and wrong

  • lol, i know what you mean. my 2 brothers are the same way.

  • Yes, an oversized exhaust on these v-twins can cause a drop in torque

  • how

  • got to have a little bit of back pressure. Also, a good collector in the header design helps, scavange effect.

  • is that a blower cover on the carb

  • Naw, it's called a Hypercharger air intake for motorcycles.

  • i would so put that in my go kart!

  • how much power does it have now?

  • That one came off the dyno @ 34hp

  • wow!! do you know the torque?

  • Peak tq was at 53 ft lbs

  • that is awesome!!!!!!!! how much did it take to make it so powerful?

  • omg that is a sick kohler. I need that in my mower!

  • that is a SICK engine

  • i so would love to get one of these and put it on a go-kart with dual pipes

  • Are there any performance parts for my Briggs opposed 18HP?

  • i'd love to build me a twin...

  • they are easier than you'd think to rebuild GO FOR IT!!

  • That pipe was built to fit inside the engine bay of a Cub 982 & out through one small hole in the side panel. The curve under & around the crankshaft is also far enough away so it can be bolted to the dyno for tuning & not interfere with the connecting coupler

  • what is that air cleaner ? its real cool

  • The air cleaner is called a Hypercharger from a motorcycle engine. They are available for Harley, Honda, Suzuki etc.

  • does it add power or is it cosmetic?

  • @BeboAltizer The air cleaner? Haven't used it on the dyno so I don't know yet. New engine on the way that should leave this one on the porch but that will be determined once it comes off the dyno stand.

  • This engine just finished in 2nd at the Des Moines Shootout!!!
