When she sang this song near the end of ACT I...there was a deafening silence after she released her last note. TIME LITERALLY STOPPED. The next thing I knew there was this loud roar and the entire room was on it's feet. THE ENTIRE ROOM...there was not a person seated and not cheering. The show stopped for a good couple of minutes. A moment I will never forget for as long as I live. Thank you, Ms. Buckley, for sharing your soul with me...with all of us...that day!
This is one of my ALL TIME favorite songs and Performers. I got to see TRIUMPH OF LOVE with the original cast. This was the first time I'd ever seen Betty Buckley live. She was ELECTRIC! She had the audience in the palm of her hand. I'd NEVER experienced anything like it in my life. The energy she sent out was palpable. I felt so connected with every moment she shared. I felt like she was embracing me and drawing me into her character to SHARE it with her.
You know, she doesn't need that mike to be heard. Its about everyone else needing or wanting her to use it. She was about the last generation of Broadway star who was expected to do this for two hours or more, 4 days a week for months on end, reaching the cheap seats of New York's or London's largest theaters and never needing the understudy to relieve her. Not that many today couldn't do it, but the vocal stamina just isn't demanded anymore. Superb voice.

I can't believe this is the same woman as in 8 is enough. I used to love this show as a kid. I didn't know she was a broadway actress and great singer

This is a very sophisticated song for the Rosie show. I admire that she put these folks on. She did much for B'way in the 90s-early 00s.
