Thanks for great interpretation of a classic! My AlState trumpet playing daughter heard this and immediately set to playing along with it. It has helped her with her improv so. Thanks!
Ok I was going through subscribers to see what they were up to - you know, the subscribers that don't have videos but leave masterpieces for comments and- low a behold - you may have booradley's back but baby you got my subscription. You've been holding out.
Actually i'd been spending all that time trying to make my pagan peace with The Corporate Gods Of Computer Technology (TM). After all my helpline searches, phonecalls to Logitech HQ & manual consultings, i eventually found just whacking the damn box with a bison's femur bone pretty much did the trick. sort of.
This was actually my 85th attempt or so, to record something that didn't sound like i was singing into a V8 tomato juice can full of grumpy cicadas. The process of trial & error continues.
Thanks for chancing upon my channel & leaving your kind comment though, dg. It definitely throws another welcome stick on the fire :)
OMG, I'm just figuring out that you actually exist and have videos of your own now! I'm glad to see you don't suck so I don't have to be polite. Nice!
Keith! Awesome of you to swing by, brother! This was actually video #86 or 87, in on ongoing evolution of attempts to suck slightly less than the previous time, with varying results. Thanks for listening & dispensing with politeness, even though i'm aware i play guitar like a rusty ex-drummer who could do with a guitar lesson or two. Your feedback is always welcome!
Part of that answer hinges, i suppose, on one's personal interpretation of the phrase 'exist in the world'.
i certainly can't complain. i've got food in my cupboard, a roof overhead, the love of a good woman...well, ok, shoes....i could use some shoes, i guess. Tired of picking out splinters all the time. But hey, you can't have everything.
Thanks for swinging by & leaving your comment achoi29 :)
Sorry to hear about your username, bro. What's this world of ours coming to, eh? Can't even leave your cyberhandle unattended for 5 minutes without somebody swiping it. pah!
Hope the tune helped ease your sense of loss, if only for a little while.
Clicked on this as it was one of daniel6strings favorites, and he's got good taste. Awesome! the whole boo radley-dark house-summertime-barefoot-coughing thing...a whole mood going on there.
But reading your comments--you oughta be writing your own songs, too. You've got the voice, but you've also got writing talent, to the same degree.
Thanks for the encouragement, scoo. (hope you don't mind if i call you 'scoo'?...'Mr.dunk' just sounds so informal). The mood came with the house. i just point & click. As for the writing thing, i'm beginning to think about considering to get working on it soonish. There's inspiration around every corner here on YT.
My muse hadn't been returning any of my calls for going on years now. It's only been recently that i've discovered that she'd somehow magically transformed herself into 'you guys'.
Thanks for dropping by & typing, Evan. Awesome job again on your Drakishly-good Three Hours. It couldn't have been more perfect had that little 'moon' over your head been pink. :)
Have you never 'been' mellow?....have you never tried? ;)
Thanks for watching, Curt. Glad you enjoyed. i may have an ABBA song or two somewhere up my white polyester, tastefully-sequined sleeve, but for the moment, i'm still trying to figure out how to operate this confounded modern machinery.
Happy to see the Chicagofest was enjoyed by all. YouTube in 3D!
Thanks, Clint. Still trying to figure out how to minimize some of the more obvious moments of distortion & general fuzziness. The mic i'm using is only partially to blame. A substantial portion of the technical difficulty you hear is actually built right into my hands & head. Hope to work out some of the bugs for the next one.
wow, man, great job on this tune, excellent take on the vocals, really sweet, great video too, the lighting and setup is perfect, really fits the vibe, i've sub'd hoping to hear more, thanks to vamosbabe
Appreciate the feedback, Dave. As for the setting & the lighting, i just had to point the camera at a random corner of my house. It pretty much looks like this most of the time. With only marginally more colour. Thanks again for dropping in. :)
Thanks, Isaac. Roughly 90% of the beauty's built right into the song. i just tried not to mess up too badly on my 10%. i see from your channel that it's been awhile since you've posted. i hope that somewhere along your road of 'learning how to fall' you chance upon the instructions as to how to get back up again, brother.
Thanks, Kris. If i had any children, i think i'd dispense with the obligatory 'Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star' & 'Itsy-Bitsy Spider' (don't get me wrong; timeless classics, both) in favour of lullabyes like this one.
Hey, John-of-unrivalled-acapellishnous! Thanks for dropping by the shack.
Man, you've been busy since i've been randomly gone. Think i last checked in with you somewhere around 'America' (hey, who hasn't gotten a little lost there, eh?). i'm so far behind in my viewing it would take several all-nighters just to remotely catch up. Looking forward to hearing the acapella-ing i've missed.
Hope you and your family've been having a great summer, brother! :)
Just have your lawyer call my imaginary geothermal-powered wheelbarrow mechanic who fantasizes about practicing law in the sparetime that he doesn't have and, uh...shit, i think i'm in trouble here. Although partially dismayed to hear your coversong factory's recently announced it's making some temporary cutbacks, the blissfully undismayed part of me is sending you a giant parcel of WooHoo!! Hopefully it has no problems getting past U.S.customs...
...your music's been both figuratively & literally instrumental in coaxing me past the front porch, Brooke. Hope your musical journey ahead finds you basking in your own unique brand of Shine.
i...uh...i'm sorry i have no prize to give away for being first or anything, Babe. i wish i did. i do have one datesquare leftover from a spontaneous baking binge i succumbed to a couple nights ago. i just don't think it'd survive the planetrip to France. Maybe if it sat up in 1st class they'd pamper it with little 1st class pillows & special tiny 1st class datesquare heatlamps. i'll phone Air Canada, see if they've got any seat sales happening...
Even though the fridge was empty,I knew there were many good things in your freezer! I simply (unpatiently) waited for you to unpack them! :-)) I'm so glad you did! immeasurably glad!
(now I know what datesquares and binge are!!always learn new words with you-you're a walking dictionary) :D
