My sympathies are with you in your quest to stop smoking. After smoking that long, quiting is a hell all to itself! The only people that could come close to imagining what you're going through are those of us who have gone through it ourselves..... The hardest thing I've EVER done- But the most rewarding!

Hang in there! --- If you lost your battle already, then jump right back in there and "FIGHT FOR YOUR LIFE"!

I get a clear sense of the change of seasons in this, in that the tables are set as though there should be people enjoying the normal summer beach activities, but we see only a few people, apparently fully dressed, nobody swimming. Those who venture out into the water are pushed back. I don't recall such heavy surf being typical of summers on the Mediterranian. To me, it means the coming of the winter and the storms. So yes, you have captured the feeling of the season well here.

This single picture extended to 8 minutes of footage speaks about what occasionally occurs in a day at the beach. At the end the sea remains without even to witness what happened. Images and sounds are well together! This is a great job!

This is a strange blend of opposites...

The music is solemn and almost depressing; something I would imagine the background for a Chicago winter scene...

while the video is of an idyllic scene (albeit cold) of people in the place where they finally get to go, after working most of their lives in Chicago.

Makes a very good statement: I just don't know what it is....

Quite a turbulent sea, isn't it? I love how people regard the madness differently. Defiant, standing firm, nervous, refusing to be swayed, going deep, getting crashed on. I loved those people, often a side effect of your work.

Smoking. This week was 4 years since I went cold turkey. What helped was in the morning when I'd wake, asking myself "would yesterday have been better if I smoked?" I never said yes...finally realized the expectation of smoking was always better than smoking itself :)

Cold turkey is torture! Still, you have some very nice footage there, where some of the waves and the silhouettes of the people standing in the surf are truly inspired cinematography.

Your eye is still right on! Editing and concentrating will get easier after you purge the last nicotine from your system...

this is magnificent. If i was there this is what I would have done, sat with my camera admiring and capturing the simplicity of beauty, and listening to the breaking waves. I don't - I still get these urges to have a smoke from time to time . To be honest, I never did see it as quitting though - I only wanted to stay smokeless for a week initially :D

I see it as a big break really.

And things like stamina and taste change in time away from smoking. So does weight unfortunately. It grows.
