His reaction time and anticipation were UNMATCHED.

I can almost guarantee, that the people dismissing this vid are Kobe stans. They seem to live in their own bubble. If Kobe hits a nice fadeaway, he's a God (even tho MJ used to hit that same shot or more complicated 4 times a game with ease). You show them MJ vids, "oh he's playing against scrubs from the 80's" they say, you show them a Wizards vid, "oh, every dog has its day." or "it was a fluke." Shaqs 93/94 season statistically is almost a mirror image of his 99/00 MVP season. These kids who say shit like Shaq wasnt in his prime yet or he was better in his LA years is absolutely false. His rookie season was his career high for blocks and rebounds. He scored less than his MVP season but he took 5 less shots. On 60% shooting 5 shots means 6 points, add that to his 23.4 rookie average and its now 29.4. It could be argued that his rookie year was his best season on paper.
I should be more specific before it gets pointed out...Shaq shot a few notches under 60% as a rookie but he also took less FTs, though he wasnt a great FT shooter add 1.5 FTs to every game and it should come close to making up the difference for his under 60% shooting.
Shaq also eliminated Jordan's bulls in the playoffs the first year Jordan came back from baseball(MJ wasn't in 'basketball shape' yet, MJ added weight for baseball), so not only is this the same Shaq who led his team to eliminating the Bulls, it is also the same Shaq who Jordan and Pippen swept out of the playoffs the next year on the way to their 4th title.

The NBA has a tendency of falsely measuring players. Jordan and Barkley are both the same size, and many claim Chuck is only 6'4. There's pics of Pip and MJ next to each other and Pip is easily 3-5 inches taller (Pip is listed as 6'7). So who really knows how tall he truly is, unless one stands next to him or has a pic that clearly proves.
Its not a comparison, its showing the capabilities Jordan had against one of the most dominant big men of all time. Theres no comparison of form, technique or anything else basketball related or otherwise between the two. Did you even watch the video or is your comment based on the title?

I don't think people realize how amazing that first block he had on Shaq is. He stays down on Shaq's fakes, with his right hand raised for the block in anticipation of Shaq bringing the ball up from behind. Then, as soon as Shaq jumps, Jordan jumps, and he INSTANTLY realizes that Shaq is trying to release the ball from in front, and Jordan switches to his LEFT hand for the block. His reaction time and anticipation were UNMATCHED.

Nah, you either have that or you don't -- it's innate. And Jordan had more of it than anyone. His anticipation and, more importantly, his reflexes, were without equal. If you watch 99% of his blocked shots, he'll get it cleanly from absurd angles even when players aren't showing the ball until the last instant. Just tremendous reflexes.

I can almost guarantee, that the people dismissing this vid are Kobe stans. They seem to live in their own bubble. If Kobe hits a nice fadeaway, he's a God (even tho MJ used to hit that same shot or more complicated 4 times a game with ease). You show them MJ vids, "oh he's playing against scrubs from the 80's" they say, you show them a Wizards vid, "oh, every dog has its day." or "it was a fluke." That's why I always request for Wizards games, instead of the older games.

Shaqs 93/94 season statistically is almost a mirror image of his 99/00 MVP season. These kids who say shit like Shaq wasnt in his prime yet or he was better in his LA years is absolutely false. His rookie season was his career high for blocks and rebounds. He scored less than his MVP season but he took 5 less shots. On 60% shooting 5 shots means 6 points, add that to his 23.4 rookie average and its now 29.4. It could be argued that his rookie year was his best season on paper.

I should be more specific before it gets pointed out...Shaq shot a few notches under 60% as a rookie but he also took less FTs, though he wasnt a great FT shooter add 1.5 FTs to every game and it should come close to making up the difference for his under 60% shooting.

Shaq also eliminated Jordan's bulls in the playoffs the first year Jordan came back from baseball(MJ wasn't in 'basketball shape' yet, MJ added weight for baseball), so not only is this the same Shaq who led his team to eliminating the Bulls, it is also the same Shaq who Jordan and Pippen swept out of the playoffs the next year on the way to their 4th title.

Shaq's prime was 93-94 statisticly, mid to late 90's as far as athleticism. Early 00's Shaq was a notch slower than he was in his athletic prime, more powerful, also he was noticably more restricted in his movement. Shaq deserved his MVP, even though he came into the league on fire and probably deserved more considerations after his 93-94 season, he didn't get it until over half a decade later... This is Shaq from the old NBA Jam days, I'm sure you remember.

I know it hurts to see Shaq get dunked on, posterized, blocked by a guard, jumpers shot in his face, juked back onto his heels and a jumper shot in his face, came out for a high trap and Jordan crossed him over to the left for a jumper, Jordan posterized him on the dunk because despite being in his athletic prime Shaq just couldn't react fast enough and got nutchecked, how about the spin dribble move by Jordan into a sick off balance one handed layup while he was buried in Shaq's chest? Well, there's some serious debate about that. For the Olympics, he was listed as 6 ft 4.75 in (195 cm). And many claim their measuring system is more precise. The NBA has a tendency of falsely measuring players. Jordan and Barkley are both the same size, and many claim Chuck is only 6'4. There's pics of Pip and MJ next to each other and Pip is easily 3-5 inches taller (Pip is listed as 6'7). So who really knows how tall he truly is, unless one stands next to him or has a pic that clearly proves.

Its not a comparison, its showing the capabilities Jordan had against one of the most dominant big men of all time. Theres no comparison of form, technique or anything else basketball related or otherwise between the two. Did you even watch the video or is your comment based on the title?
